    Soda

I didn't drink much soda even before surgery so it doesn't appease me. I actually am having a hard time finding things I actually like. I don't like artifical flavoring or sweeteners, so I am down to unsweetened diluted applejuice and water. Boring
  2. That's fantastic! Way to work it! =)

    So Frustrated And Angry

I understand how frustrating this can be. You have been given great advice. I just want to add, we are here for you. One day, one step, at a time. Take care and good luck.
  5. Tina, That was extremely inspirational, thank you. Looking forward to a beautiful new year.
  6. Hi there, as far as the heart burn, did your doctor prescribe you nexium or prilosec to help relieve this? Definitely something you should mention. My dehydration happened a couple of times early on, the first was the worst however, because the blood pressure medication I was on was taking a toll on my kidneys. Once they took me off that, I didnt have much of a problem. I have a specific cup bought 3 exactly the same, so I know I get the amount of fluids I need now. I know the clear fluids was not fun for many here, but trust me, baby steps. Sunday is around the corner, you can do it. =) Take care.
  7. Hopefully something works out with your insurance. These honestly are the most difficult questions for myself to answer since different insurance companies have different criteria. Good luck, and keep us posted.
  8. Welcome and good luck with your surgery. There is loads of information here, with the added bonus of the btdt (been there done that). Many of us can give you our view points. I agree with the above, vitamins and excercise. Best of luck to you, and keep us updated.
  9. Sounds like you are on the road to recovery. Try your best to get those fluids down, not wanting to scare you but I had problems with dehydration myself. Sip sip sip, chew chew chew. You can do it and welcome. =)
  10. Hi there, and welcome. I know that every one has different routes to this procedure. With myself I had multiple issues that were worsening. I do believe this surgery saved my life and has enabled me to be here for my family longer. Have a brand new perspective on life to date and am extremely happy. I wish you the best of luck, yes this can be a process but well worth it. Take care and keep us posted.
  11. Congratz on your sleeve, I haven't heard from you in a while, and am thrilled to hear your good news. If you need anything feel free to shout out. Merry Christmas!
  12. I noted yesterday how tired I was. I am down 71 pounds in a little more then 3 months. But I feel like I have been crushed to the floor. I am wiped out and extremely tired. My blood pressure was 85/46 and has been staying around that level for a couple of days. I am thinking it may be a good idea to see about trying to come off some of the BP meds, considering how low it is. However, last time we did that, my blood pressure shot back up. Any input? Any one else dealing with this?
  13. Thanks all, I can probably safely say all of the above, with the exception of dehydration. Still waiting on more blood work. I am being weaned off the three blood pressure meds. I just hope this time I stay off them. I got a nice pretty B-12 shot, an IV anyways, just in case. I was given another med ( can't remember off the top of my head) by IV my heart started beating fast, but my blood pressure went up too, which is what they were after. I have bruises again from the Blood pressure cuff, and in a positional bed (very awkward). Funny thing I still have residual bruising they noticed from my heparin shots 3 months ago. *shrugs* I am just glad I wasn't admitted and nothing too serious. I am happy I went in too, was going to wait till after the New Year, was told that I would have probably been wheeled in before. *whew* Thanks for the support, very much appreciated.
  14. Ecstatic! Down 71 pounds. However...................I am this week, extremely tired, have had extreme diareah (yes the doctor knows all this) I think since Thanksgiving, I have overdone things. Had all my holiday shopping done, gifts wrapped, tree trimmed, all Christmas cards mailed out, baking, baking baking (not for me ofcourse). Just feel worn out and hope to get my engine running again. Any one have any suggestions for healthy energy boosters? I take Vitamins, eat, drink. Doing well in that department. Maybe just overdid it. Has been 2 days. Not to mention I had an emergency dental appointment this past Saturday where 2 fillings fell out, maybe that is it, who knows. I just want to get up and running again, not to mention I miss my ZUMBA!!!! lol =)

    Had Vsg Today !

Wow, gratz on surgery and being home. Take it easy and get lots of rest. Walking is good, it will help with that gas. Seoncdly stick with the liquids, especially this early. Strained cream soups are extremely soothing, and taste delicious when you are hungry. Stay hydrated!
  16. Potassium being low is dangerous, be sure to stay on those, until they take you off. I have no good news about the drains, my best advice take deep breath before they go to pull and exhale as they do. Hang in there.
  17. To date that is all I can drink, water and diluted unsweetened applejuice. I have tried others, and they are just straight up too sweet. I am dealing, I am happy with the results, so just hanging in there. Hope things get better with you. I am a little over three months out and still have issues swallowing pills. In due time I guess. Good luck!
  18. I brought all kinds of things, however my surgery turned into another emergency surgery, I didn't use half of the stuff I brought. They took my slippers and said I had to wear the hospital socks, per safety regulations. I used lots of chapstick, and swabs to moisten my mouth, toothbrush, listerine, lotion. A nice pillow for my belly when i had to cough. I did happen to listen to music on my ipod to try and relax and not listen to the hustle and bustle in the hospital. I swear for a day or two after going home all I heard was blasted beeping noises inbeaded in my head. Since I had 2 sugeries, I wasn't allowed to wear underwear till later. My first shower was HEAVEN!!! Took forever to get the knots out of my hair since I was out of it a few days. That's about all I can remember at his point.
  19. I hope it all works out well for you. If you ened any don't hesitate to ask.
  20. Yes, be careful with the new food introduction. Definitely follow the directions given by the doctor. I remember at this time able to have strained cream soups, that were heaven to me. Kepp up the good work, and stay hydrated.

    Im In A Panic! Help!

Good luck to you having your surgeries.
  22. I had the sleeve and had second thoughts many many times. I don't know much about the other. I do know from my own experience with the sleeve, everything tastes different, sweet things taste too sweet, and salty things taste too salty. It helps as far as not indulging into those. I wish you the best of luck, and hope you can come to a decision that you can live with.
  23. I haven't checked in a lot have been real busy, but wanted to update you. I am down 62 pounds on my 3 month sleaave birthday. I am thriled. =) Putting this sleeve to work!
