  1. oopss i just posted something similar here now and I just saw this. I think there is a lot of iPhone/ smart phones apps where you can see the calories on each meal before ordering in Chili's or other restaurants. My favorite apps are "fast food calories" ,"Dotti's Food Score"
  2. What are your tips for eating out? Do you have a protein shake before going out to a restaurant ? Do you ask for a to go box before you start eating your meal? Your favorite meals and your favorite restaurants? Please share your tips for eating out
  3. Ok so I am 3 weeks post op and I know still to early to eat 'bread'.I want to avoid bread or tortillas for as long I can. I used loved bread like many of you lol. But sometimes I crave a toast . When did you start adding whole bread to your diet or wheat tortillas? What about tortilla chips? I am assuming maybe after 3 months post op? TIA
  4. A nurse from my clinic told me that the first thing I need to do when I go out to eat to a restaurant is to ask for to go box when they bring you the food in that way you will remove all the food you won't eat and just leave in the plate whatever you are able to eat =). Don't worry about the waiter's I seen a lot of people doing that ( asking for a to go box first before they start eating ) I am sure you will get use it
  5. You CAN do it =) I am going to the gym now too =)
  6. I agree with the comments above, try to keep your self busy, this process is not easy. Keep calm I hope they call you soon. Best of luck to you. And wohoo you are in Brownsville Not too far from san Antonio I guess

  9. Thank you so much all for all your support @ apebrown ,protein drinks are important now for us,have you tried to make your own with vanilla or chocolate powders? I make my own Protein shakes and they are yummy oh and I love my mushies too I did 4 weeks of liquids
  10. You are going to be fine. I have GERD and my reflux is pretty bad. Is controlled now with Nexium. I still dealing with the gas and the belching but I am sure it will go away with the time. My surgeon wanted a RYN for me instead the sleeve and I convinced him that the sleeve wad for me I love the sleeve so dealing with a bit of reflux here and there is ok with me as long in controlled with meds. I suggest you to talk to gastroenterologist better than your surgeon,it's what I did and he said that my reflux won't go away but improves after any type of weight loss program or surgery Good luck!
  11. I am 3 weeks post op and I been stuck in the same weight 187-188 for a week now. I know is still early but I was losing weight fast before when I was on the liquid diet Now that I started my mushies, I am not losing weight at all Is this normal? I am having my Protein shakes daily and eating my protein first before I try any mashed potatoes or something else. I can eat 2-3 tsp at once for each meal. I am not having Snacks Just my Protein Shakes as snacks and Water. I started going to the gym and just walking in the treadmill for now, I am taking it easy since I am only 3 weeks out. What I can do? I am getting frustrated and I am trying my best not to weight myself daily. PS I know many people asked these questions but I needed to vent
  12. Geno I am I am having an horrible gas daily and it comes with chest pain. I addressed this at my last visit and they told me is normal for some people after surgery but I really need they do something about it. BTW how is everybody doing??? I been stuck at 187-188 I haven't lose a pound for a week or so : ( It sucks!!! I don't know what the heck I am doing wrong.

  14. Zumba is awesome. I did it before surgery. Is a lot of movement too. I am having a hard time sipping slowly with my liquids lol
  15. Thank you so much for your input Diva I think I will just start with treadmill walking for about 30 minutes and some bike, then I will move to the elliptical when I feel like I can do more I will goggle the DVD's Thanks!
  16. I agree with the comments above. I had my c section in 2009 December and I was in way more pain with the c section than with the sleeve. Remember that the c section incision is way bigger. The VSG incisions are 4-5 but smaller You will do fine and you will be able to walk the same surgery day. Good luck!
  17. I am nearly 3 weeks out now and I am stuck in 187, I am thinking positive. I just started going to the gym and I know working out is going to help.Don't stress out. I know how you feel but the weight will come off faster as soon has you become more active and active.

I would like to see if I am eating the right portions. Yesterday I ate some refried beans and then after tsp I forgot and I had a sip of water, oooppss my stomach hurt a little. I am doing my best and waiting 30 minutes after every meal or snack. Thanks in advance
