oopss i just posted something similar here now and I just saw this. I think there is a lot of iPhone/ smart phones apps where you can see the calories on each meal before ordering in Chili's or other restaurants. My favorite apps are "fast food calories" ,"Dotti's Food Score"

What are your tips for eating out? Do you have a Protein Shake before going out to a restaurant ? Do you ask for a to go box before you start eating your meal? Your favorite meals and your favorite restaurants?
Please share your tips for eating out

Ok so I am 3 weeks post op and I know still to early to eat 'bread'.I want to avoid bread or tortillas for as long I can. I used loved bread like many of you lol. But sometimes I crave a toast
. When did you start adding whole bread to your diet or wheat tortillas? What about tortilla chips? I am assuming maybe after 3 months post op? TIA

A nurse from my clinic told me that the first thing I need to do when I go out to eat to a restaurant is to ask for to go box when they bring you the food in that way you will remove all the food you won't eat and just leave in the plate whatever you are able to eat =). Don't worry about the waiter's I seen a lot of people doing that ( asking for a to go box first before they start eating ) I am sure you will get use it

You are going to be fine. I have GERD and my reflux is pretty bad. Is controlled now with Nexium. I still dealing with the gas and the belching but I am sure it will go away with the time. My surgeon wanted a RYN for me instead the sleeve and I convinced him that the sleeve wad for me I love the sleeve so dealing with a bit of reflux here and there is ok with me as long in controlled with meds. I suggest you to talk to gastroenterologist better than your surgeon,it's what I did and he said that my reflux won't go away but improves after any type of weight loss program or surgery Good luck!

I am 3 weeks post op and I been stuck in the same weight 187-188 for a week now. I know is still early but I was losing weight fast before when I was on the liquid diet Now that I started my mushies, I am not losing weight at all Is this normal? I am having my Protein Shakes daily and eating my Protein first before I try any mashed potatoes or something else. I can eat 2-3 tsp at once for each meal.
I am not having Snacks Just my Protein shakes as snacks and Water. I started going to the gym and just walking in the treadmill for now, I am taking it easy since I am only 3 weeks out. What I can do? I am getting frustrated and I am trying my best not to weight myself daily.
PS I know many people asked these questions but I needed to vent

I'm 4 weeks today and have been walking about 3-3.5 miles in an hour for the past three weeks....so I figured I was ready to get back to zumba tonight. I was surprised how sore I started to get at about the 50 minute mark. I just took it very slow and easy the last ten minutes....but it felt great to be really moving again. The hardest part was not chugging my Water after class!
Zumba is awesome. I did it before surgery. Is a lot of movement too. I am having a hard time sipping slowly with my liquids lol

Me personally didn't start doing hardcore workouts until 4 months out. Not sure why, I was tired a lot and never felt like doing them. I started to get a little depressive like, because I'd been working out for eons before my surgery - since I was a teenager. I had that down pat, just never was able to get my food intake in order. What I did do right out of surgery was just some walking outside or on the treadmill. I began to realize this was not quite enough.
When I finally started to get back into my routines, I started a little slow. I did about 30 on my elliptical or 30 on my stationary bike. I started bumping it up pretty quickly because I did notice the more I'd workout the better I felt physically. My moods lifted and within I'd say about 6 weeks beyond getting my workout groove back I was full steam ahead. I was doing about 90 minutes workouts per day. It was around this time I started the Couch to 5K program too. I also do the Callanetics (google it) and some DVD's such as Billy Blanks, Leslie Sansone or Jillian Micheals. Those are all fun.
It's just for me a matter of finding something I enjoy. I enjoy most of all workouts so that wasn't hard for me to do. On the machines I just plug in my MP3 player with all my favorite songs and before I know it an hour has passed.
Thank you so much for your input Diva I think I will just start with treadmill walking for about 30 minutes and some bike, then I will move to the elliptical when I feel like I can do more I will goggle the DVD's Thanks!

I agree with the comments above. I had my c section in 2009 December and I was in way more pain with the c section than with the sleeve. Remember that the c section incision is way bigger. The VSG incisions are 4-5 but smaller You will do fine and you will be able to walk the same surgery day. Good luck!
Happy Anniversary To Me
