  1. I just try to stay busy. I read, I come on this site a lot, and I watch tv. Sometimes watching tv makes me wanna munch on food so I have to find something else to do. Whenever I think I'm hungry I drink a bottle of Water. It doesn't always work but most of the time it helps. You should be able to have sugar free Jello and/or pudding and also sugar free popsicles. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Thanks I will try to find things to keep me busy. My daughter keep me busy too LOL she will 2 in December, and yes I love to eat the sugar free popsicles and the sugar free Jello and pudding lol

  3. I have surgery date ,hopefully I can get my VSG if I can convince my surgeon that RYN is not for me. My questions is for those who are post op 1 year or more.

Do you think you can eat a bit more than when you were 6 months post op? Or are you eating the same amount of food as when you were 6 months post op?

How soon do you get full, with how many oz of liquids or food? I know everybody is different so I willing to read different opinions here :) TIA :)

  4. Hi there. Does anyone know which Dept of Veterans Affairs hospitals do the sleeve? The system is divided by regions, and the VA does not put out a lot of info about the bariatric programs. I have Tricare Prime too, but they do not cover the sleeve. BUMMER... I am a service-disabled vet too and am able to use all services at VA hospitals too.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

There are several military facilities that do the sleeve. For sure BAMC in Ft Sam Houston San Antonio do the sleeve. I am waiting to be call with for my Pre Op appointment and surgery date. Where do you live right now? are you able to travel to San Antonio?

  5. So I been reading and a surgeon told me today that won't perform a VSG on me because I have GERD and the VSG could make the GERD even worse. He is trying to push on me the RYN. For those you have or had GERD,how is it now after the surgery? Is it better? worst? and How long ago you had surgery? Thanks!

  6. I'm not having mine done at BAMC but at BMI in the Medical Center in San Antonio on Nov 15, 2011. When is your surgery date? Nice to know there is/will be someone close by who is going thru the same thing at probably close to the same time.

I don't have a surgery date yet :( I need to be done with 2 support groups and then call the clinic to get a date :( Good luck!!! wow November is almost there

  7. Hi Liliana, I have PCOS also. I am hope this surgey will help me. If you find any information please let me know. I am scheduled to have surgery on the 8th. Do you have a surgery date?

Chunky and Fluffy 75 - PCOS is Polycystic ovary syndrome and it is a condition in which there is an imbalance of a woman's female sex hormones. This hormone imbalance may cause changes in the menstrual cycle, skin changes, small cysts in the ovaries and etc...

Oh no I don't have a surgery date yet. I am starting with my seminars now in August. I wish you the best of luck this 8 :) I will keep researching and let you know :)

  8. I'm not so sure about VSG/migraines, but (and this may be a silly simple question) have you had your eyes checked recently? Before I had my lasik surgery 10 years ago, I had DAILY Migraines that were horrible! Even though I was at the eye doctor constantly and I knew my glasses prescription was fairly up to date (I had to ditch the contacts for like a month or so pre-op) it didn't matter. I still had them. Hope you find relief from your migraines. I know how miserable of a bear non stop constant migraines can be. :(

You know I been about to go and check my eyes :),I will Thanks!!

  9. I been diagnosed with PCOS for a few years now. I was wondering if any of you have PCOS and after the VSG surgery has improved? I am doing some research online if this surgery would help with my PCOS among other

health issues I have. I know loosing weight improves the PCOS symptoms but I would like to know any experiences here. Thanks!
