How Much Did You Lose In Month 1

Wow 36lbs. the first month?! That is awesome!! I was all proud of myself for losing 20lbs my first month. Specially since without the surgery it took me 3 months of 5 times a week at the gym (3hrs every time) and a very strict eating plan just to lose 20lbs! Keep up the great work I have no doubt you can hit your goal!!

    I Am Sleeved!

Wow! Great job on your pre-op weight loss! I have no doubt that if you did that well before surgery you should have no problems losing weight with the sleeve! Keep up the great work!

I'm so sorry for your loss. As is this can be a very emotional journey and I could not fathom the extra stress of going through this. Good luck and God bless!

  7. Sorry for all your Ins. drama mommy794. But BCBS is such a pain in the but to deal with! I have BCBS of IL and they covered 100% of the surgery. That is after months of denial letters and phone calls. Good luck and don't give up!

    Tuesday Is My Surgery Date

Congratulations!! My surgery was about 2hrs but then they put you in recovery for a while before they transfer you to your room. I would say 3hrs to be on the safe side. Oh and the best advise I got was WALK, WALK, WALK as soon as possible! Good luck!!
  10. Lets see: What has been the hardest part so far? Taking it easy!! Slowing my pace. Learning to listen to my body and knowing when I push myself too hard. Staying on a scheduled meal plan!! What has been the best part so far? Watching the scale move and knowing it will keep moving! Having those close to me see what I'm going through and having them realize it is NOT the easy way out! How is recovery going? Great! No problems eating and hardly any pain. The only time it hurt was when I started to move around and bend in ways I know I wasn't suppose to yet. But I took it easy for a bit and now I'm all better!
  11. I had surgery on Dec. 16th and I was suppose to have my staples removed on Dec. 30th (2 weeks post-op). But because of the holidays the soonest I could see the Dr. is Jan 9th (3 weeks 3 days post-op). Because of the extra week I'm a little worried about the staple removal hurting more. This was my first surgery and I have never broken anything so I'm still trying to gage my pain threshold. To tell the truth I don't even know the process used to remove the staples! Any suggestions? I just want to be better prepared so I don't see a weird tool and want to run, LOL!!

Did It Hurt When They Removed The Staples?

Did It Hurt When They Removed The Staples?

Ouch! At home?! Well I'm glad your PCP took them out for you. I don't think I could do it myself. Starting to feel better about it since you said they removed 24 and you felt no pain. Thanks

Did It Hurt When They Removed The Staples?

Thanks for all the replies! Feeling a little better about it now. I have my incisions stapled. I know not all Docs do this but mine does.

Well I Thought I Was Done, But....

Everyone has their opinion about weight (specially women). And I know how awful it feels when someone vocalizes the fears you've internalized hoping it was just "in your head". But just remember that we have a tendancy to be our own worst critic. Try not to let others undermine all the great work you've done!

    So Aggravated! (vent)

Tana I know exactly how you feel! I had my Dr. cancel on me 3 hrs before surgery! He got really sick and was out for the rest of the week. I was so mad that at that moment I didn't care why he canceled. I even told my family and friends that the first one to say "It all happens for a reson" was going to get decked! LOL!! Luckly I got to vent here and started to see the silver lining on my rain cloud. I just kept saying to myself "This IS going to happen! No matter how long it takes me!!" and now I'm 19 days post-op. So please don't get discouraged. You can do this and desirve to get this done! Good luck!!

I Just Got Out Of The E.r.....

Wow Blackanese25 I'm sorry your having such a rough time! I had surgery a couple days after you on 12/16 and I was feeling great up to a couple of days ago I started bending and stretching in ways that did not bring on immediate pain but I knew I was pushing it. Next thing I know I got this sharp pain on my right side (under my ribs) that slowly shot to my left. It to was not a constant pain and I couldn't figure out what type of movement set it off. So I called my Dr just to make sure it was normal and he said as long as I was able to hold down food/liquids and go to the bathroom I had nothing to worry about. To take my pain meds (which I wasn't taking) and take it easy. Well I have and the pain is gone! Also I noticed that when I lay or even lean on my side for long periods of time it will lead to pain. I really hope you feel better soon and you don't need to take another trip tp the ER! Please keep us posted on your status. Good luck!!

    Losing Slow At Very Beginning?

I know what you mean. My first week I lost 11lbs. I was so happy then my second week 2lbs! I get worried but hey at least I'm losing and not gaining. We just have to remember to take it one day at a time, we will get there soon enough!
  20. A new year and a new begining! Happy New Year!! <3

    Support System After Vsg

Hey JasSleeve, sorry to hear your kinda down. Hope you feel better soon. My mood is way different, I have a short fuse! I love my hubby but he's getting on my last nerve!!! I think my family took for granted all the little things I do to keep the house running and this past week they had to take over (I had surgery on 12/16). It is beyond frustrating to watch someone "half-ass" stuff. I try not to be overly critical and keep it to myself, but then things start going wrong. Example: We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Not only do the dogs and cats not get along but they are all need to be separated when feed. EVERYONE in my house knows this! So tell me why my sister walks in my ROTTWEILER through the house to the garage with my cats running wild?!! Days later I start to notice one of the cats got fatter and the other losing weight...It turned out they were feeding the cats together so one ate all the food the other was starving!!!! WTF?! I mean come on people this isn't brain surgery!! This is just one of a long list of things. Needless to say everyone is keeping their distance from me! Lol! I can't wait to be 100% again so I can do thing myself! I just hope I don't punch someone while that happens!! Lol Sorry for the long rant, but it feels nice to get it off my chest.
  23. 7 days out and 14lbs down! Unfathomable!!! =)

  24. I'm glad to hear you're doing so well! Keep up the great attitude girl!
  25. Hope all is well and you're feeling good!
