Well.. it's official, I'll be going to Mexico alone. Not crazy about it but am committed to doing whatever it takes. Now crossing fingers the passport gets here in time!

Hi peppercma.. I just read your post in the Mexico forum. I'm going to see Dr. Kelly on 7/13. I'll be gone before you get there but keep in touch and I'll give you the low down. I've had surgery before and a catheter is not that bad. They put it in while you are "out" and then it's kind of a relief because I didn't want to get out of bed the first day after. Kelly L sys we won't have one tho.

Cleaned out the fridge.. no I don't mean eating. I mean actually pulling everything out and cleaning it. Can't imagine wanting to do that job while only having liquids. Kept thinking by the time I do this again I'll be post surgery!

Good for you to get all that behind you and practice your pre op diet! I just set up my weight loss ticker but I'm not sure where to put it. Hi there! I wish I had done this in my early 30's because I just think of all the time spent wasted worrying about all the things I do being heavy. I'm 40 now and not wasting one more day! Tell me about it! I told my husband he was coming with me but now that I realize I will be there for like 5 nights he may have to stay back and take care of our 5 year old. I'm bound and determined to do this whatever it takes because I feel like I've tried everything else and I'm so ready to lose the weight.

However, I am having trouble figuring out what to do with my 5 year old so I'm realizing my husband may not be able to go with me! Did you stay at Florence Hospital? Any advice?

Hi there.. sorry just got your message that you are having it in Dallas. So you start your pre-op diet on 7/7? Yes.. insurance will not pay for me.. first because my bmi was 39 and then went to 40 and they changed their rules and wouldn't pay for it at all. Whatever! Anyway.. it's about 16-20k in the states and only $5500 in Mexico so yes... I am going to be a medical tourist!

Yay! So when are you having your procedure or did you already? I'm scheduled for 7/13 and can hardly wait! Of course my excitement is to get to the other side.. not this pre op stuff. LOL!
