  1. Well best of luck! I just moved my date up 1 day so now I'm o the 12th. So looking forward to the other side of the actual procedure. Do you have a pre-op diet? How long do you stay in the hospital after? I have 7 day liquids and a 2 night hospital stay and then 1-2 nights in the recovery hotel. I'm self pay so I have to go to Mexico and it's different there!

  2. Simple is good! So excited to have someone going thru this at the same time to chat with! Do you just have 1 night in the hospital after surgery?

  3. My passport arrived and my surgery date got moved up a day to 7/12!

  4. Hi Jennifer, I'm scheduled to see Dr. Kelly on 7/12 and am starting at about the same weight as you. Glad to read your posts that it was a good experience! How are you doing now?

Ok July Firecracker are youll ready?

So excited! My passport came today! I also just attended the funeral of a friend who lost her battle with cancer and I realize that life is just too short to spend it overweight and unhappy. I've really enjoyed reading in this forum and getting all the positive motivation. Anyone else going to se Dr. Kelly on the 13th?
  7. HI there., I'm having my sleeve done on 7/13 too! Are you having it done in the states?

  8. My passport arrived!

  9. Well.. it's official, I'll be going to Mexico alone. Not crazy about it but am committed to doing whatever it takes. Now crossing fingers the passport gets here in time!

  10. Thanks for your detailed story posts! I am going to see Dr. Kelly on 7/13 and it was nice to have more info!

  11. Hi peppercma.. I just read your post in the Mexico forum. I'm going to see Dr. Kelly on 7/13. I'll be gone before you get there but keep in touch and I'll give you the low down. I've had surgery before and a catheter is not that bad. They put it in while you are "out" and then it's kind of a relief because I didn't want to get out of bed the first day after. Kelly L sys we won't have one tho.

  12. I'm going to be a fat2skinny mom too!

  13. HI! This website is NOT easy to navigate. There are posts, private messages, blogs, topics . ay yi yi! I know facebook. Can't it be simple like FB? I just found the help section today and figured out the weight ticker. Go to tickerfactory.com to create your ticker. You don't have to create an account, just select your background and slider then copy paste it to your signature on ur profile.

  14. I'm going to be sleeved on 7/13/11 in Tijuana Mexico by Dr. Kelly. Whoot! Can't wait to be done and back home.
  15. Me Too!!!! 7/13 our lives will change!

    sleeved in july

Congrats! Looking forward to hearing your progress! I'm going on 7/13 to Dr. Kelly in Mexico.
  17. Cleaned out the fridge.. no I don't mean eating. I mean actually pulling everything out and cleaning it. Can't imagine wanting to do that job while only having liquids. Kept thinking by the time I do this again I'll be post surgery!

  18. Hi Darlis, did you decide yet on the plication or the sleeve? Good luck on the pre-op diet, when do you start?

    My "list"

Wow.. I love your list! So many things on there are on mine! Do yoga correctly, cross my legs, stop shopping at Lane Bryant because the clothes aren't very good quality and I've been mad at them since they changed their jean sizing to" 1 2 3 triangle" or whatever! I wear a swimsuit but it's really humiliating right now. Wrapping a normal size towel would be great instead of hunting down a "bath sheet". One thing I would add to my list is to ride a horse! I used to do that some as a kid and I haven't been able to as an adult for pity of the animal that would have to carry me. Riding a horse in the wine country.. now that sounds like fun!

    Lifetime Fitness?

Lifetime Fitness is amazing! They have a ton of classes including my favorite...kickboxing! Not sure if you have kids but the kids club and pool areas are incredible. The owners have owned and operating fitness clubs since the early 80's and they have it down. All the equipment you can ask for and a beautiful locker room. At least.. that is the one in Scottsdale, AZ. Have been to some in MN not quite so plush but the gym is still a really good one especially for families.

    Bikram Yoga after surgery

I like yoga too and wow the heat in Bikram is hard to deal with but WOW! It feels so good when you walk out of that room! I am also hoping I can make that part of my routine. Let us know what the doc says.
  23. Hi there.. where did you have your surgery? Was it S. Cal or Mexico? Just asking because I'm going to Mexico and looking to talk to others who have too. Either way I'd love to hear more about your experience.

  24. Good for you to get all that behind you and practice your pre op diet! I just set up my weight loss ticker but I'm not sure where to put it. I put it in my signature box but wondering if you can see it? I started setting aside things to bring to the hospital. Here are some tips I've read on the boards: chapstick, gasx strips, small firm pillow, SF halls someone said helped wth t...

  25. Yikes! This post freaked me out! It sounds like my hysterectomy experience and I thought this would be much easier. It looks as if it's written by a man, I would love a female perspective on if the pain was all that bad.
