    Weight Gain

Oy. This is simply incorrect. The duodenal switch is a different surgery. VSG is part of it, but DS also involves rerouting your intestines.
  2. Hmmm, even if you can eat 1.5 cups of food, as long as you stick to lean protein, fruits and veggies, it still shouldn't cause a gain. It's just more of a matter of what those 1.5 cups are. Good luck.

    Failure

Glad the bad day is over. I also wanted to add that it is a tool, but nobody said you had to eat only grilled fish and kale for the rest of your life. I ate half a hamburger last night. Typically not something I eat, but it was 98* and we had a softball game to get to. That's what I made for dinner and I was too hot to make myself something different. I do not feel bad about it, and it was still on ym diet plan for the day. I don't think a hand full of goldfish is gonna be the end all. It's more likely the grazing habit that will hurt you. You recognized it and changed it immediately. Well done.

Hospitals Not Hiring Those With Bmi's Over 35

Discrimination happens. My husband was even told to separate resumes and applications into two piles: one pile from the attractive females and one pile for all others. Try getting a bartending or server position as an overweight person. Proving it was always the issue, but it looks like that hospital did all the proving for us.

"yes, I Asked For The Side, Not The Large Salad..."

Methinks it's time to try new restaurants. I've never had an issue and we eat out often. The card is a joke. Just ask politely to order from the kids menu. Usually I get a hesitation then I follow it with "I'm a good tipper" and all is well.

Any other gay sleevers out there?

    Raw Veg!

Sometimes raw veggies sit like a lead weight in my stomach, but never painful.

er...I thought a DDD was an F, it just depended on brand and how they do their sizing.

    I'm glad mine shrunk. I have gone from a 40G to a 36D.

Not Trying To Be Grose But...

I have vomited twice in 9 months. Both times it was because I ate too fast, and it was just the food coming up. It didn't smell and there were no gastric juices with it. Maybe she is seeking help and is under a doctor's care. I can't imagine anyone living like that and assuming it's normal.

    R You Hungry?

I don't get hungry like I did pre-surgery. If I haven't eaten in a long time, I do get syptoms that tell me it's time to eat, but it's more like an empty stomach feeling. Rarely does my stomach actually grumble. I enjoy food and can eat more, but I could mostly pass on it without batting an eye and can easily go a very long time without eating. It's 11am and I'm eating for the first time today, not because I was really hungry but because it's the healthy thing to do. And while the chicken teriyaki is delicious, it's more of a chore I have to get done so I can run my errands and go to work. I hope I explained it well.
  13. It seems that most insurances go by your starting bmi, not the one you have on day of surgery. Start breaking the bad habits now. It will make post op so much less miserable. You don't need to go all uber Ashley aerobics and fitness Phil, but cutting down on simple carbs, eating more vegetables and lean protein and walking is probably a perfect start, and not all that difficult to maintain. GL.

    Virtual Model -Fun

<snort> seriously. Maybe the model needs to have a few pregnancies and some stretch marks thrown in.

    Virtual Model -Fun

i put the model at 160 and 110 and there was hardly a difference. 110 on me would look skeletal.

    Bougie Sizes?

I stayed home until this past year when my youngest went to Kinder. I am loving going back to school and getting a little bit of me back, plus I'm home before they get off the bus. Win/win! Mine are 13,12,10,7,5. It looks like we both had ours fairly close together. I had 3 in diapers for 8 months.....8 longgggg months. I will post pictures if I can make them private. Anyone know?

Whats Your Diet 4 Months Out?

From 2 months on I ate whatever I wanted, but I stuck to a healthy, low carb, high Protein diet. I've said this many times, but I'll say it again, I find that keeping foods interesting and full of flavors helps me feel like I am not missing out. Your diet doens't have to be all cottage cheese and grilled chicken. I am all about hot sauce and blackening chicken and fish. I eat pepperoncinis as a snack. I crave flavor. Garlic, spices, they work! I made French onion soup. OMG. It was delicious and very much on my diet. I love salad, so I eat that almost daily, but I often put some tuna, chicken or shrimp on it. If I have a craving for chicken wings, I'll pan cook some shrimp and toss them in buffalo wing sauce, then dip them in greek yogurt or light blue cheese. This is so yummy, but still on my diet. There is some fat in the blue cheese, but I'm only using 1/2 T. Hope this helps with ideas.

Lowcarb High Protein Pre-Op Diet :-/

For me, I found it easier to stay on the diet if I ate things packed with flavor and foods that I loved. That way I didn't feel deprived. I would slice a pepperoncini open and put some feta cheese in it. Soooo good. I always have shrimp on hand and would pan cook some with garlic or cajun seasoning. Again, it's packed with flavor. I did the same with chicken and sometimes would make a dup out of greek yogurt for the chicken and shrimp. I kept food interesting, so I really didn't feel deprived. Omelets are a great way to feel like you're eating like a king without too many carbs. I make one with 3 egg whites, cheese, veggies and 1 piece of turkey bacon and it's soooo delicious, but under 200 calories. When I want pizza, I microwave some pepperoni pieces to render out the fat and make them crispy. Then a add a dollop of sauce and a slice from low fat string cheese and micrwave again. This make little pizza bits that are very low carb and cures the craving. you can do the same with salami. Microwave it until crisp and use a paper towel to soak up the rendered fat, then top with some provolone or eat as it. buffalo chicken dip.....shred some cooked chicken, add hot sauce or buffalo sauce, a little bit of ranch or blue cheese and cheddar. Bake until bubbly. I use celery sticks to scoop it.

    Bougie Sizes?

I think mine is one of the bigger sizes Ive seen used, a 40f, and I have plenty of restriction and am 15 pounds to goal. I have 5 kids and go to school full time. I can't imagine going through my day if I could only eat 2 T. of food. I can comfortably eat a cup of soup, half a sandwich (on light bread), a small slice of pizza, a side salad with 3 ounces of protein, 3 egg whites made into a small omelet. Those are typical of what I eat for quantity at one meal. My portions are small, but I feel like I eat a normal amount, just what a normal skinny person would eat.

    Would You Do It Again?

I just want to add that I just feel so good. I still enjoy food. I feel like I eat normally, just a lot less than I used to and I have extra motivation to say no to bad choices. I crave shrimp, not cookies....for real. I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE my sleeve.....like passionate, unconditional, undying love.

    Would You Do It Again?

I'm 9 months post op and loving life. I am 15lbs away from goal, and it's been easy. I'm hot, poeple notice me, the hubby can't keep his hands off me, I got the confidence to go back to school and ended with a 3.97 gpa (still fighting for that 4.0) and I am just enjoying my life where I felt like I was just existing before. Every time I see an obese person, I just want to slip them a note with before and after pictures.
