Another happy patient of Dr. Aceves! I had an outstanding experience from beginning to end. Do your research, experience and complications count! I would send any family member to Dr. Aceves and go back in a heartbeat.

I thought I was going to gnaw my arm off on day 6 post-op. It was by far the worst day. Since then it has been much better...I'd say little to no hunger at all. I'm not sure if what I was feeling was head hunger or not, but I'm thankful it resolved. I also think clear Fluid stage is the hardest and you'll feel better when you can progress. I'm on full liquids now and doing good.

Can anyone give me their suggestions for what they drank during "full liquids" stage according to Dr. Aceves post-op diet? I am planning on using milk instead of Water for my Protein Shakes, adding s/f, f/f pudding, and creamy Soups to what was already ok for clears. Would it include blenderized soups? How about thin yogurt? What else did you add?
Every surgeon is so different! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything else I can have.
Thanks in advance!

Glad you are doing so well, Renee. I am one week out from having my VSG with Dr. Aceves and can totally picture Dr. Campos nose to nose with you. He was such a sweety. I must admit, your experience scared me to death and I nearly backed out, but am so glad I didn't. Everything worked seamlessly for me and I am so thankful! He truly is a great surgeon with a fantastic team that I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.
Thanks for the update! I had wondered how your recovery was after such a rough post op. So happy to see you are doing well.
Let's rock these sleeves

Thanks all!
I will try for that, sarsar.
I have a little discomfort today but it is very manageable. Can't wait to start losing!
I'll update again soon

Woo hoo! Surgery was this afternoon with Dr. Aceves and it went great. He even repaired an undiagnosed hiatal hernia while in there. I've been walking, sucking on my spirometer, and chilling I can't say enough about Dr. Aceves and his team. So far, simply amazing. Practically no pain and hardly any indication Ive had anything done so I'm being careful to not overdo it. I realize the pain could intensify at any point, so at this time I am counting my blessings! God is good.
Thank you for the all then encouragement both public and private from you all. Looking forward to doing this TOGETHER!

We'll be in the hospital at the same time! VSG with dr. Aceves on the 14th. I'll look for you!

Great job! You are doing awesome!

I'll be there just a few days before you. Mine is on the 14th. Looks like we'll be just missing each other.

Thanks, Oregondaisy. I've been following your journey and glad things have gone so well!
Marymoon, it is so funny you mentioned Lost. I was looking for movies to rent to watch while traveling and was deciding between Lost (never seen one episode), and 24. Totally leaning toward 24 since realizing how they got "lost" . I'm considering drugging myself for the flight...I'm sure my husband would agree.

I'm new here, but have learned tons from all of you. It's great coming to this forum when people around here have never even heard of the sleeve.
After much research, I scheduled my surgery with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali for June 14th. My hubby will be traveling with me. Most of my fears are completely irrational. Like....I'm more nervous about flying and crossing the border than the surgery itself. Crazy, huh?!
I love hearing of all of your wonderful Mexico experienes.
Loving the Mexico sub-forum. Woohoo!

Oh my goodness! Mine is in my neck and PRAYING weight loss will help! I had not thought of that since it's in my neck....just didn't think weight loss would improve it. Tired of going to the chiropractor without much improvement. You all have given me hope! Like a bonus Fingers crossed!

I wondered also if they will show up on X-rays?
