  1. Yes it all depends on your bmi. Anyone over 50 bmi does about 3 weeks pre liquid diet. The lower the bmi the less the pre liquid diet has to be
  2. I heard the gas pain right after surgery is HORRIBLE! Is there anything that can be done about it?
  3. It turns out I am going alone to tj Mexico to have my sleeve surgery. Am I Crazy? Anyone out there do this on their own. How had was it? Will the driver check your bag for you when dropping you off at airport?

Am I alone in my thinking?

You are NOT alone in your thoughts! I felt the same. Being heavy was my excuse for allot of things and I hid behind my fat. Total comfort in the strangest way. Then I said, literally out loud, STOP! enough is enough!!!! Then I got angy at food altogether. Food has controlled me for way to long. There are so many things in this world you Can Not control don't let food and your health be one of them seriously just get pissed off at food get angry punch a pillow what ever it takes but say NO MORE I will Be Healthy! Remember that being heavy can kill you so kick anxietys ass and throw it out of your head and do it for your wife and your children. What's/who's more important than that, right?

    Isopure, anyone? :)

Where do you get the Isopure alpine punch? I'm having trouble finding it.
  7. Yes! Flinstones chewables are perfect and absorb fast and were originally made for kids so they are fairly gentle on your tummy. This is what I was tOld by the number one doctor in California, dr ceringle.

    San Fran bay area sleevers

Thanks all. I moved my sleeve appt up. Going to tj in 6 weeks. Can't wait. And, yeah, my good friend Alena is going with me.
  10. Dr Alveraz is supposed to be great. Also my bmi is 29.6 to 30.6 and I'm having the sleeve done in 6 weeks. I was told by the beat doctor here in San fransico that ok do to it with a 28 bmi especially if you ate having weight related issues ( high bp, sleep apnea, etc. )

Low BMI and still having VSG

Tiajunapilcation. Who was your doctor in tj Mexico that required a 30bmi?

Low BMI and still having VSG

I know that doctors here in California will do vsg at a 28 bmi. Dr Cirengle in nor cal is the best in the state and did my friend last week. Her bmi was only 28.9. Too bad his price is 19,000. Thank goodness for our Mexican neighbors.

Low BMI and still having VSG

My bmi varies between 29 and 31. I'm going to dr Almanza. He read my paperwork and said I qualified. Maybe he does it at a lower bmi than others ????

    Surgery in the Morning!

Good luck and be well. How great is that that you are going thru this with your sister?! That's wonderful.
  15. Has anyone had their VSG with Dr. Jose Rodriguez, Dr. Aramburo or Dr. Almanza? How do I pick a safe place to have my WLS in Mexico. ??
  16. I'm worried that after my VSG I will feel weak, dizzy and light headed and tired because I will only be eating 500-700 a day instead of my usual few thousand. You know how you feel when you go too long with out eating? Will it be that way after surgery or because your tummy is so tiny that that won't be an issue. I'm having my surgery in about four months ( need to save the money first) I'm so excited but terrified! Also people are saying bad things to me because I only need to lose 50-60 pounds. That I'm stupid and craY for doing this and I should be able to lose that on my own. I'm very addicted to food and I want it to stop containing my life. I want to be healthy not skinny. Anyone else run into this problem?? Thanks, Christina/San Francisco
  17. I'm going to Dr Almanza in TJ Mexico on 9/3. Sosososo scared but excited more.
  18. Oh thank you so much. So a bmi of 30 is not to low to have vsg?

    Waking Up Choking

Wow that is exactly what happened to me. I thought I was a great sleeper. Slept like a rock most Nights. I'm mostly a side sleeper but as soon as I would rol over on my back I would do this weird chokey thing. I didn't think too much about it but then my work ( school bus driver) to take a sleep study test. turns out i have moderate to sever sleep apnea now i sleep with a c-pap. Hopefully after surgery this will be resolved.

    6 days after surgery

I'm worried that I will feel light headed and weak after my surgery because of not eating enough calories. My body is so used to having a few thousand calories per day then all of a sudden I will only we consuming 500-700 a day. Does your body feel like it's going into shock, weak, light headed, dizzy, etc. Or because your tummy is so much smaller you don't feel that way. ??

Hlep Info on WLS in Mexico

Brandynd. Thank you so much! Out of everything I read so far your advise has helped me the most. I'm going to ask all those great questions. Can I ask you about how bad the pain was and was it an awful and painful plane ride home? I am so sensitive to pain meds that I think I probably won't remember much for a dew days after surgery. Do they give you antibiotics and pain meds as a precaution as well? Thanks so much it was so helpful to me to hear what you had to say. Christina. San Francisco, ca Christinaburdios@comcast.net
