  1. I know someone that got sleeved in mexico and had follow up with a nurse practitioner. I myself am getting sleeved by dr almanza in a few weeks and then making an appoitment after im back. When I call to make my appointment I'm gping to tell them I just sleeved out of state and now I need appt closer to home ( not going to mention Mexico). They will just think I moved to the area. Then during the appt. I will tell doctor about Mexico. What's he gonna do, kick me out?!? If he's a jerk about it I'll have to do it all over again with a new doctor.
  2. Im am reading that you are only supppsed to drink clear liquids after surgery and you are supposed to avoid the thicker protien shakes. Is this wrong? Help. Not too sure what to do for the first week post op.

Low BMI and still having VSG

Hey maybe we should not judge the doctor or the person who feels like they want to lose 20lbs. Most of on here are keeping our WLS a secret because we don't want to be judged. Then here we are judging others.
  4. You re not alone. I will never tell anyone except for one friend of mine. Im having mine in july and will NEVER tell anyone in my family! I just don't want to hear it.

  8. Don't forget everyone that you can use your WLS as a wrote off on your taxes next year. May get a large refund! Yeah....
  9. Anyone having their surgery on July 1st. Or that weekend, in TJ with dr Almanza?

WLS is "the easy way out"

First of all. What's wrong with taking the easy way out? (even though WLS is not easy) even if it were easy what's so bad about that? Life should be good happy and easy. If you have a life like that I say you're successful! So I think when people say that they are just jealous. If you can find the easy way to do things in your life, go for it! So to all those ignorant people, Lighten Up!
  13. Wow you are certainly in alot of pain. I So sorry. Wish I could reach out and hug you. You have a child? That should be your deciding factor to do this surgery. You must let you child see you heAthy mind body and soul. Nothing is more important than that. If it were me it would be well worth any amOunt of risk. Do it for your kid! You may surprise yourself and be successful this time NEVER give up and especially never give up on yourself.
  14. Well I'll that I know for sure is that dr Cirengle is world renowned and one of the very best vsg surgeons in the world. He is also very confident and somewhat abrupt. He actually invented a certain way to do part of the sleeving ( I forget the name of it) so if he says there is a certain way to do it right. There probably is.
  15. So yeah! I don't feel so bad about lying to everyone I know (except my hubby) about my surgery. I have my lie all ready to go when I start being asked if and how much and how I am losing weight. I JUST DO NOT want to hear it. Especially coming from my skinny healthy mom dad and sisters! I was always "the fat one". Ha! Not for very much longer y'all, not for very much longer! And when they ask I will just say " well I don't know how I'm losing weight cuz I'm still eating what ever I want". Then they'll be jealous of me. Lol
  16. My very good friend had vsg about three weeks ago and she is an emotional wreck. She cries constantly and just looks so sad and depressed. She is starting to worry me ALLOT! how can I help her? She is now at the point where she won't talk to me about anything. She just crys and has a blank look on her face. She lives a couple doors down from me so im able to at least check on her. Will this pass? I've asked her to talk to someone and she actually has a therapist she talks to quite often but it is not helping! Does anyone know how long this emotional stage lasts? How can i help her?
  17. Try flinstone chewables they are easier on your tummy. If you can tolerate them use them for a while and ina few months go back to trying your vitamins again. This just worked for my friend
