    Good luck July 20 sleevers

Hey all! I'm down 33 pounds so far...things have been going a lot slower than I expected too. I lost 13 pre-op and 20 since surgery. I didn't lose anything this past week, and only 2.2 the week before...so..boo on that. 33 pounds down is about 27% of my excess weight lost. I'm still only getting about 6-7 cups of Water in a day because I am just SO SICK of drinking water, crystal light, mio, ect ect ect. I just have to get over that though, right? lol Protein wise - I usually hit my goal of 70 grams throughout the week but the weekends get me! Probably because I don't roll out of bed until noon! Oh - AND I got a gym membership this week! My goal is to go 3 times a week so I don't wear myself out...plus I'm not a person who enjoys exercise. lol Best wishes to all of you other July 20th sleevers!

SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal LeahG...........264.....................231...........210...............21 If I hit goal that will put me down 54 pounds! Woohoo! That will be 3 months and 11 days out from surgery July 20th.
  4. Six weeks yesterday - 33 pounds down. Only lost two pounds in the past two weeks but I'm trying to stay optimistic!

  5. Hey there! I just noticed we had our surgeries done at the same place! Who was your suregon?

  6. Hope everything goes smoothly for you today! I am SO excited for you!! Update us when you can!

  7. Thinking of you this week!! What day is your surgery?

  8. I think it would be helpful for people to add what their excess weight loss (EWL) percentage was at that point - since everyone has different amounts to lose. I'm not quite 3 months yet - only 5 1/2 weeks out - but I'm down 33 pounds - or 27% of my excess weight.
  9. My surgeon told me to just let them fall off. After a couple weeks, the ends started to curl up so I just trimmed the ends off. At my 2 week appt (which was actually 2.5 weeks) my doc told me I could just take them off. They were pretty grody by that time lol.
  10. I'm the same way! When I get all of my water in, I'm still only going maybe twice a day. Before surgery, if I were to drink 64+ oz of water, I'd be running to the bathroom every half hour! I also would like to know where all that water is going?!

Hey! I just saw your message, sorry I didn't get back sooner! I think since I've been sleeved, I've only gotten in the whole 64 oz once or twice. It is SO hard. I've tried the Mio, Crystal Light, and just bought some Ocean Spray SF Cran-Lemonade that I haven't tried yet. Are you getting all of your liquids in?

    MIO...

I totally agree with Jimmy James - I don't like the fact that I don't know how much to put in there...and have to test it five times before I get the perfect amount. I'm already indecisive enough without having to measure my Mio!
  14. Just did some searching, it looks like levothyroxine interferes with a lot more than just Iron, calcium, and antacids... including birth control, antidepressants, and diabetes meds. Yikes! What may interact with this medicine? •amiodarone •antacids •anti-thyroid medicines •calcium supplements •carbamazepine •cholestyramine •colestipol •digoxin •female hormones, including contraceptive or birth control pills •iron supplements •ketamine •liquid nutrition products like Ensure •medicines for colds and breathing difficulties •medicines for diabetes •medicines for mental depression •medicines or herbals used to decrease weight or appetite •phenobarbital or other barbiturate medications •phenytoin •prednisone or other corticosteroids •rifabutin •rifampin •soy isoflavones •sucralfate •theophylline •warfarin
  15. Well, crap. I've been taking my thyroid meds with my antacid too! Good to know!
  16. I checked our insurance and the only thing that was charged from my hospital was a bill for $6,639. I was expecting it to be A LOT higher than that.
  17. 4 weeks post-op today and down 30 pounds! 25% of EWL :)

  18. I find it very hard to reach my Protein goal without a Protein Drink. I love the Premier Nutrition chocolate Protein drinks... they taste like chocolate milk. food wise, I have been sticking to lots of chicken and cheese. Chicken salad, chicken with gravy, bbq chicken (just watch the sugar). I've heard that a lot of people like the Caramelized Onion Chicken Burgers from costco....I think they have around 17 grams of protein. I keep track of my daily food intake using myfitnesspal.com. If you add me as a friend on there, you can see my daily diary of what I'm eating! My username is lgerweck.

    Vitamin Question

Every day I take two Flintstone's Complete, B12 500mg, Biotin 5000mg, thyroid meds and my PPI. At this point, I'm not taking any calcium but I think my nutritionist said they would do labs at six weeks out to check if I needed to be on a calcium supplement.
  20. I definitely gain weight the week before the TOM...and it seems to be holding on to my body as long as it can! lol. I haven't lost any weight since about a week and a half out of surgery and even gained .4 last week...which I'm attributing to the Water weight. I'm hoping as soon as I start the weight will begin dropping again, but we'll see! I think the surgery definitely messed with my system too because I was supposed to start 4 days ago. I'd love to hear from people who are a bit further out than us to know what we should expect!
  21. YAYYY! I'm SO excited for you! It's going to be here sooner than you think!
  22. Does anyone have a favorite fiber supplement they use?

    Roll call

Hi all! I had my surgery July 20th and will be 3 weeks out on Wednesday. I've been doing pretty well with my Protein intake (70 grams daily) but am still struggling to get all 64 oz. of Water in a day. I've been completely stalled since a couple days after week one and have even gained the 2 pounds back I lost in week two. I think there's a lot of factors contributing to my stall including my period, constipation, and of course just the shock of surgery. My two week post-op appointment was today and they said I was doing very well and just to add a Fiber supplement in daily and to start exercising. Trying to stay optimistic! Pre-Op testing: 264 Day of Surgery: 251 Week 1: 240.2 Week 2: 238.4 I also did my measurements on week 2 and have lost 6 inches. Not too shabby!
