    Win or lose

That is fantastic! You go in there and kick some a** The fact that you put yourself out there is such a big accomplishment in itself. Let us know how it goes. Good luck!
  2. Welcome and good luck! Just ask anything you need to ask everyone here will help in anyway they can.
  3. Thanks, guys! It was a great feeling, I have NEVER been a size ten, not even when I was ten! LMAO

    caffeine?

My doc let me have it one month post op. I used to be a coffee addict! But when I tried it again, I didn't like it anymore. Truly upsetting because I loved my cup o'joe ... oh well lol at least I am no longer a caffeine addict lol.
  10. i had a hard time with the pills to in the first couple of weeks. My doc let me swallow them after 2 weeks. Prior to that it was rough doing the whole crushed thing. My hubby came up with an idea, Jello shots! The jello just slides right down your throat so it makes it easier and you don't taste that bitterness of the pill. Hope this helps!
  11. If I'm not mistaken, I think we were sleeved on the same day. I only lost 17 post op and 13 pre op but also lost 34 from last June until the pre op diet. What my ticker doesn't say because I am only going to up date it once a month, is that over the last week and a 1/2 I gained 3 lbs. I know this is because of my carb intake and some Water weight but still it sucks lol. So I am right there with you and know what you are feeling. I'm trying not to sweat it too much because I also know that 61lbs gone forever since last June is still quite an accomplishment and also from what I have read it is expected to have stalls etc. My true accomplishment IMO is that I am off most of my meds (20 pills to 3 a day) and that I feel better now than I have in over a decade. You are doing exactly what your body needs to do and I have no doubt you will get to your goal!
  12. Try something that you used to not like eating and see how that goes. I used to HATE hummus, I tried the garlic and the roasted red pepper and now it is one of my favorite foods to eat and a good source of Protein too

    6 months

The changes I've noticed in just 6 weeks are amazing to me, I can only imagine how you feel! Well done and i have no doubt you will make it to your goal in no time.
  14. I think you are doing great! I think those of us with a lower BMI and less weight to lose tend to lose it slower. I was sleeved 6 weeks ago and have been in a stall for 3 of those! I'm trying not to sweat it too much because I know it will turn around but it will take time.
  15. I had one on my left ovary when I was pregnant and they had to take it out because it kept growing with all the hormones going on at the time. It was like a fish story with my Doc. LOL
  16. Congratulations Kara! I am almost 6 weeks out and where as I do feel the restriction if I over do it, I am able to eat more than most people ... I think lol. Either way, I have had no issues since the hospital and am feeling great. Glad to hear you are doing so well.

    Just Getting Started

Hi again, Meg! You are doing the absolute right thing by asking questions, getting advise and doing your research. That is what I did and pretty much everyone on here did. It helps in getting you prepared for what is to happen, how to deal with everything and it gives you over all support as you can see from the responses you have gotten so far. This is a great board for that and if I can help in any way please do not hesitate to ask.
  19. What everyone has already said Tamz! plus some! We will be there for you and try not to worry about things too much, everything will fall into place!

    Bleeding

That sounds like a UTI. Do you have a burning sensation when you go? If so contact your doc and get an antibiotic.

    Hair Loss

EXACTLY!! My mom always said that if you can't say something nice don't say anyting at all, however, my motto is sometimes nice doesn't apply and constructive criticism is goes a long way in helping people.

    Before and during pics

WOW Pasquini!!!! The difference is way noticiable, you look great. I bet in no time women will be checking out your butt
  24. Cut your carbs and that will lower your sugar significantly. You are having your surgery next Thursday so why not start a full liquid diet I can tell you it WILL lower your sugars. My full liquid pre op diet consisted of: Breakfast: Atkins low carb/low sugar Protein shake ( I prefer the dark chocolate) Lunch: Fage Greek yogurt blended with skim milk and a crystal light packet ( orange tastes like a creamsicle) Dinner: Atkins low carb/low sugar Protein Shake . In between this if I wanted savory flavor I would do a beef broth and drank lots of different flavored diet drinks (No soda) to keep me constantly full and unfortunately lol constantly going to the ladies room. This gave me around the 60 grams of protein they wanted me on and also prepared me for the liquid and full diet post op. Does it work? You bet your buns it did. My sugars prior to the diet were 200- 250 in the morning and 300-400 in the evening and I was on 1000mg Metphormine 2x a day AND 10mg of Glipizide 2x a day. The morning of surgery my sugar was 77. I now take a 1/2 of a Glipizide pill with Breakfast and a 1/2 with dinner. My levels are now normal. I expect that as I lose more weight I will not even need the 1/2 and 1/2. Good luck. I hope this works for you.
  25. Seems they all have their own plans. My doc was pretty strict with a 2 week rule for everything, 2 weeks pre op diet, 2 weeks full liquid diet post op, 2 week mushy stage, and now on the 2 week soft food stage.
