I am tentatively scheduled for April 27th pending insurance approval. I should find out in a couple of weeks. I am so excited and afraid at the same time. Did you have to do the 6 month insurance visits to cope with? I am glad to have a buddy going through the same things I am. good luck

Back at the beginning of December I received a spiral bound booklet from my doctors office that explains everything I would need to know about getting a Gastric Sleeve/Bypass. From pre-op to post-op and it has helped me sooo much!!!
This morning, I happened to have a few minutes to myself and decided to unbound the spiral and scan the whole booklet.
If anyone would like to have a copy of it, please let me know. I emailed it from my work to my yahoo account with no problems on the size.
Let me know if your interested - Tiffany
I would love to have a copy of your booklet. So far my doctor hasn't given me one. Today was my 6 month visit and will get submitted to insurance. I am excited. Thanks, Karen bubbles_too@hotmail.com
What is the "standard" for surgery?

I know every doctor is different, but surely there are some things that are similar with the surgery. I get to choose inpatient or outpatient and if all goes well could be out of the hospital in four hours. I notice others posting they stay for 1-2 days. Going home after major surgery makes me quite nervous. Also, some doctors use drains and others don't. How important are drains? My doctor suggests 1 Protein Drink for Breakfast and 1 for lunch then Protein and veggies for dinner for preop including the day before surgery. Why all of the variables?
Thanks
