June 1st was my 2nd surgiversary...wow, I am a different person. My mind is still catching up with my new body. I sometimes don't think I can fit into diner booths or subway seats. My weight has fluctuated more in the last 6 months which has freaked me out. I've been doing circuit training so it could be muscle. But when the scale shows a higher weight I worry. I promised I wouldn't get like that -- but it is hard. I can't believe how much younger I look. I turned 58 i...

Hi everyone! I haven't been here in a very long time. June 1st was my one year anniversary since I was sleeved. Hard to believe my life could change so much in one year! I have lost 125 pounds and feel 20 years younger. I want to lose 10 more pounds so that my BM1 is 29.9 making me Overweight and no longer Obese!

Celebrated my one year surgiversary! A year sped by so quickly but the changes in my life have been profound. I feel better, have lots of energy, don't have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and my blood sugar is normal. My joint don't hurt. I don't huff and puff when I exert myself. Two days ago I wore a summer skirt. The first time I've worn a skirt in over 20 years. I didn't need to wear bike shorts underneath because my thighs don't chafe anymore. I...

Hey fellow sleevers -- I haven't posted in a long time. About to celebrate 9 months of sleeve life and I couldn't feel better. I am rocking my sleeve and 16 pounds away from my goal weight. Greetings to all the Jewels of June!

Feb. 1st was my 8th month surgiversary...today is my birthday. To think that one year ago I finally saw my doctor because I thought I hadn't had blood work done in one year. Well it had been two years and a few weeks later I found out my fasting glucose was 173. I already had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Type 2 diabetes was the final step towards shortening my life. I'm not even mentioning the "obesity related shortness of breath" or the constant knee, ankle...

I haven't been here in awhile so here is a brief update...down 60 plus pounds but MORE IMPORTANTLY I feel so good. My knees don't hurt, my back doesn't hurt, I can move easily, I have an enormous amount of energy and I feel 10 years younger than my nearly 57 years! I am taking much better care of myself and don't feel selfish about it one bit! When a care giver cares for her or him self they are helping to care for the world! Rock on my sleeve family!

The ever shrinking kwikwits. Saw surgeon for follow-up. Lost another 17lbs since last follow-up. Doc says I'm on track. Two interesting issues -- losing fat cells releases estrogen. May lead to greater fertility. It caused this post-menopausal woman to get a PERIOD for the first time in 2 years!

I wanted to share some NSV with my VST friends and family -- first of all I don't need to use a seat belt extended on JetBlue flights! I have four seat belt extenders and will try and fly all airlines so I can announce my seat belt extender days are OVER!

Hi Everyone! Vacationing in Cape Cod...boy am I rocking my sleeve...I am a 2x down from a 3x-4x and feeling very good. My nausea is much reduced! I am able to eat two protein rich meals a day and some ice pops for snacks. Losing around a pound to two pounds a week...nearly down 60 pounds (including pre surgery diet) since June 1st when my life began with my sleeve surgery!

Wednesdays are ramen night for me now...last week and this week I was able to go to Naruto Ramen a Japanese chain with a few restaurants in NYC -- even Park Slope Brooklyn. Wednesday was 8 weeks since I was sleeved!!! I am able to drink about 5 - 6 ounces of broth (delicious soy sauce based broth) I can eat most of the bean sprouts, most of the bamboo shoots, half a hard cooked egg!!! Of course I tried having a Sapporo draft beer (not the best choice) and what really...

I ate a piece of a tex-mex chili quesadilla today and I didn't get sick!!! Wednesday is 6 weeks since I was sleeved! Learning to rock my sleeve!

5 weeks out from surgery and I start my day with intense nausea...yes, taking my anti-nausea meds and omeprazole too. Please tell me this is going to get better??? I haven't been this nauseous without being preggers ever -- and I know that ship has sailed! Anyone have a sure fire nausea remedy they can share????

Reached my July 4th goal a little early...I no longer have to use the 250 weight on the doctor's scale...just the 200lb weight!!! Woop woop! My July 4th goal is to weight less than 250lbs and I may reach that before July 4th!!! July 1st is my one month anniversary!!! 33 to 38 lbs depending on which highest weight I use as the beginning! Still not doing great with food though...everything feels like it gets caught in my esophagus. Maybe it is pyschological?

It is my 3 week anniversary! I am eating soft foods just a few days early -- but I can't eat more than about a tablespoon of any soft food without paying that SLIMY price. Does it get better?

Hi Everyone, 11 days post surgery. Feeling pretty good although today my new tiny tummy was feeling upset. Could be because I had that drain removed on Friday. I felt nauseous right after they pulled that very long sucker out! I took it easy today since the protein shakes were making me feel sicker. Here is my dilemma. My doctor requires 3 weeks of thin liquids followed by 3 week of mushy before I can eat solid food. I am in the second week of thin liquids but really the 4th week if...

Hi everyone! I am sorry I couldn't get online sooner to report about getting sleeved last Wedesday! Today, 6/8/11 is my one week surgiversary!!!! I feel very good. I am hitting my liquids goals with no problem. I am still falling short on my protein target of 70 to 90 grams. I am have completed 3 weeks of liquids only two weeks pre surgery and one week post surgery. The biggest reason I am not hitting my protein goals is I AM SO TIRED OF SWEET! Isn't t...
