  1. Hello June Bandsters,

Just reporting on my successful banding June 6th. I hope all my fellow "sixers" did well.

My apologies for not posting before, but I am feeling kind of tired. And yes like everyone else the gas pain can be a challenge. Still feeling a bit lethargic today, but not sure if that is the surgery or having just liquids. Today is the first day of pureed food so we will see how that goes.

Certain this has been said before but just in case, when I came home June 7, I weighed myself. I was up 6 lbs. Next day Friday it was all gone. So don't be concerned if you are up after surgery. Your body is holding all the liquids.

Wishing success and comfort to the upcoming bandsters.

There are so many emotions and feelings going on in my brain right now, I can hardly express myself.

I would just like to wish you all successful surgeries, and a successful journey. Please post how you are doing as soon as you can. I will do the same.

June 06 @ 10:30 a.m., I will be on the road to a healthier certainly slimmer new woman.

  3. Dear Alexandra,

Having battled weight all my life, I relate to everything you're saying and I feel your pain 200%.

I too am hesitant about giving advise, however, I am compelled to share some thoughts:

Put yourself first, love yourself and keeping reminding yourself of where you want to be and what you need to do to MAKE YOURSELF HAPPY. You know only you can control what you eat and you have to have the mindset to eat only what's nutritionally necessary to live. Eat to live healthy, vs. live to eat.

It is so so so hard. That's a definite. But a future of health issues and unhappiness will be devastating. Please don't let it happen.

  5. Hello Sheree,

First congratulations on your surgery date. I wish you total success in your journey to your goal.

Your post motivated me to post a reply. This is the first time I've posted on this site.

I totally understand what you mean because I access another obesity website and post from time to time without receiving a response. I feel it's a sure bet that it isn't personal. Whichever site I've been on - 99% of the time people are supportive, informative and compassionate.

Since I really don't know how to navigate this site, I am going to try to find your previous posts and find out when your date is and go from there.

By the way, my date is June 6th. All my friends are asking me if I am nervous and I keep saying no, but for some reason a mini case of the nerves seem to be creeping up on me.

Hope to chat with you very soon.
