  1. I think your sweet spot is very personal. I knew I hit mine when I could eat a small portion and be satitsfied and still lose 1 to 2 lbs a week. And the restriction was enough that I only pb'd on things I knew I wasn't suppose to eat in the first place or when I didn't chew enough. My Dr did my first film under flouro which is a live realtime xray imaging and tightened by band so the think barium funneled through slowly and that first fill still wasn't quite enough so the next fill he added .5cc and that got me to where I was at my sweet spot. I cannot eat bread unless it is thin and well toasted or very crusty, so I tend not to eat any bread except for a pita which I can handle , Shredded chicken you know the stringy kind, chunk chicken it ok. Everything else I can usally eat in moderation and If I chew very ,very well. You will find that crispy stuff will go down just fine therefor I do not keep any crispy junk food in the house or buy soy chips there are healthy alternatives. My big thing is watching my fat and sodium content of the food that I do eat. With the band it is easier for me to make the healthy choice since I am not starving as I am losing my weight.I hope this helps and good luck.Banded June 21,07270/146/250

HI Juli,Nice to meet you? I am planning on attending the Get together at Polaris on the 8th of Jan. Hope to meet you there. I see your weight loss is going very well for you. Any tips? I start cycle classes at the Marion Y on the 7th of Jan and I an also taking a water arobic class. I have been not doing so well on the exercise part because my job is quite strenous but since I got my bodybugg I have been doing so much better. It is such a motivator:) It is really nice to chat with some local people that have been banded. I was a self pay so I am really motivated to make this work and so far it has been very good for me, worth every penny

Hi i missed one session and they gave it back to me when I called to reschedual Coach Tamala didn't hold it against me. Maybe she can do the same for you. I hope you can work things out with the sessions. I have to get on track and start working harder since the holidays I was doing well with my bugg before christmas but at least it has kept me from gaining what I have worked so hard to lose. It is a real motivator and so is coach Tamala!!Banded june 21,07pre band 270/now 246/ goal 150can't get my ticker to post and answers Help!!!

    OSU Dr. Needleman

Hi all I was banded by Dr Needleman at OSU on June 21 st of 07I have had a very good experiance with him and his staff and the surgery was as good as any surgery I have had. I am now 6 months out and doing very well.I have been losing about a lb a week and that is very good for me. The support groups at OSU and the Diatary classes are geared more towards the RNy surgery and not the lapband but they are still very informative. At least the diatary classes are and they last 4 weeks. I really like Dr Needleman although I only saw him once before surgery and then not again till my first fill. He does the first fill under flouroscopy so you get a pretty good restriction the fist time but mine didn't kick in till about 4 days later. My second fill I hit my sweet spot and have been steadly loosing since then. After the band I no longer have that terrible hunger that I had before. I am very happy with smaller meals although I still have to watch what I eat because I really tend to like the foods that are high in fat so I have to work on lowfat alternatives. I would have never have lost the weight without the band. Now even when you fall off the wagon so to speak, you have time to get back on without gaining what you have lost .I just come to a stand still and that makes it easier for me to get back on track I use to just give up on my weightloss efforts. For me this band is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Hope you all feel the same. Good luck to those of you in the process. I didn't have much of a wait but then again I wanted this so bad I just kept calling to make sure everything was progressing and what I could do to help them keep things moving forward. The best thing you can do to shorten you wait is to be proactive and keep communication open. They really didn't seem to mind my calls. I was a self pay so I didn't have to wait for any insurance approval so I am sure that made thing so a little faster. You will get there!!!!! Oh by the way I am an xray technologist Banded June 21,07Dr Needleman at OSU Medical center Help I cannot get my ticker to post.270 pre band , current 240 , goal 140down 46.4 lbs since June 21.07

Hi all I have had my bodybugg 2 weeks now and it is really motivating me to move more and go to the gym more. I am even gonna join a few classes at the y to get my calorie burn up. I love this bugg!!!! I was at a stand still for a while and now i am moving downward at a pound a week I am gonna try to get that up to 2 lbs a week but I will reserve that goal till after the holidays. Congratz to everyone that has taken the step and invested in the body bugg it really is a great tool!!!! Banded 7/21/07 Dr Needleman, OSU Medical Center ,Columbus ,Ohio

    Not Enough, Really?

I stated walking 30 min a day for awhile now and I just bumped it up to 45 min and it really wasn't that bad. I think I will try this for a week and then see about doing 60 min. I think the key is not doing it all at once. Good luck Gummibear I know you can do it!!! I don't really like to exercise but since I have had my body bugg and can see what it is doing for me it is a little more tolorable and I am really starting to enjoy it the more I loose and the less my joints hurt:) Banded 7/21/07 Starting weight 270/ now 228

I just got my bodybugg two days ago and it is really helpful to see exactly what you are doing the diary sheet means more to me now that i can see intake versus output and the deficit. I made most of my goals yesterday. I just need to add more steps to get to my step goal. So far I love this gaget. I am a visual person and I need to see what all this exercise stuff is doing !!! 15. Ok well I did day 2 of week one and It wasn't so bad:) I ran it on the indoor track at the Y with my Nano and the podcast that made it a lot easier.I think I like the track better then the treadmill. I think I keep pushing myself a little harder on the track and i was so excited to be running. I haven't run in years and i still had energy when i got home to make potatoe Soup and to dig some holes to plant bulbs. Now i am on here and still have more energy than I have had in a loooooong time. This is such a good program and you guys are great motovaters . And Who's is just so funny and great at encouragement!!!! Keep it up Who's banded June21,007

    Hairloss?

Thanks for all your posts it is really helpful to find out the this is normal and that if will thicken up again. It was just scary the past two weeks to was my hair and find so much of it in the shower. I have thick hair anyways so I am probably the only one that will notice it. I have never had hairloss on a diet before so this was a new experience. I was really wondering if I was doing anything wrong. Glad to find out that I'm not that it is just part of the process. Thank's everyone for all your great info and support!!!!
  19. Has anyone else started loosing hair? I am 4 months post-op any i have started loosing hair is this normal and do i need to increase my vitiamins to keep this from happening? Does it last very long? :help: Banded June 21st at OSU Medical Center Columbus, Ohio By Dr. Needleman.

    Burping

Hi Nyree34 I was banded the same day you were and yes I do burp alot. Seems like I burp all the time and it does seem worse since my second fill. I like you am at 2cc not sure of my total band size. I am down 30 lb and congratz on you weight loss !!!! Let's keep it going.
  22. whoo hooo i have had my second fill and i am now at a proper restriction. I can now just eat a half to a quarter of a cup of food. I am so happy!!!! 2CC of saline did the trick. My surgery was 6/21/07 and i have lost 27 lbs including my pre-op weight lose.
  23. HI Wendell that was a wonderful explaination. I couldn't have explained it better and I am an xray tech!!!
  24. Hi no one weighed me pre-op:)

    Forgive my ignorance....

Pbing = productive burp. When something doesn't go down and comes back up but no stomach acid or contents like vomiting - only the stuck food comes back up. Sliming is when something get stuck and you body is trying to get it unstuck by producing a slime like Fluid to help it slip down thru the stoma. Don't feel dumb I had to ask that question also when I was new. Both of these things can happen at the same time. Good luck with your banding .
