I have not been sleeved. But, I know from experience with other diets, its really important to also track your measurements. I would not have lost a pound but lost plenty of inches.

Thank you for posting and giving such detail about your journey. It gives me more confidence about my decision and a reasonable expectation.

@DJackson, I also teared up.
I still don't get the people who poo poo weight loss surgery. I read these forums and see miracles happening every day.

Pictures of People at different heights and weights.
I like looking at this site. I too can only guess at what my goal should be. At 53, my goal is probably different than a 23 y/o of the same height.

BTW, my son had to use a full mask (covered nose and mouth) because he could not sleep without his mouth open.
Good news, he lost over 125 lbs on his own and doesn't need it anymore.

I have a cpap and swore I'd never use it UNTIL, they had me try it at the clinic and I woke up amazed thinking "Ahhhh so this is what it is like to have sleep!".
There are much better masks available then when I first started using a c-pap. Some were masks that almost covered your whole face. I use a mask now that is a couple of straps and "pillows" that rest in my nostrils. Considering your morbidity rate goes up something like over 30% when apnea, there is no question for me to use it. Hopefully one day after surgery I won't have to.
I encourage you to try it and embrace what good things it will do for you. You might have to try a couple of masks to get the right fit, but ask them for the "For Her" mask.

Check out my blog on here. . . I have a huge list of questions saved in a blog post.
Excellent, thank you.

The first facility I interviewed required a 4 to 6 month waiting period before surgery even though my insurance requires one (Anthem BS CA). I'm interviewing another this Wednesday who only requires what the insurance requires. Pros/Cons on the waiting period? I know what to do, I need a tool to help me do it.

What are the questions I should ask when I go for my first appointment? I've written down a couple from the posts here. For example, I had not clue to ask how big a sleeve the doctor would leave.

I will get to goal much quicker than 'my goal date'. Today is four months since I had surgery and I've lost 72 lbs - I'm six lbs from my surgeons goal....my goal date that I had in my mind was New Years Eve!! I'll be at goal in no time, I've lost six lbs since Oct. 1st. For some reason I am losing quicker the past four to six weeks, or so it seems. I was just reading a post by Mini Me on another thread and she reached her goal and was a little below within 8 months! She had a lower BMI as well. Everyone is different though. My caloric intake is between 550 and 750 per day and I am getting 55 - 70 grams of Protein, all food, no supplements. No hair issues either, knock on wood!!
NtvTxn,
How do you get your Protein in on 550 & 750 per day. Any recommendations? And congrats on your progress.

I am so looking forward to getting rid of the c-pap. I take it when I travel or spend the night somewhere.

Have you guys taken your measurements? I'm pre-sleeve but know with everyother diet (the milion I've tried), my measurements would show significant change even though my scale didn't.
I'm going to chart my measurements also.
