  1. I had my fill on Wed!!!! No flouro. He filled the band completley and had me drink Water. My stomach was closed up and he made me drink the water till it stopped going down (very weird, I could feel the water fill up my esophagus). Then he pulled back on the syringe and let the saline out of the band until the water drained from my esophagus into my stomach. Then he made me drink another glass of water to make sure it went down and I was done. My fill was 2.0 ccs. I'm on Clear Liquids until tomorrow but I can tell the difference all ready. It didn't hurt at all. :D

  2. How much did you have filled each time? I don't understand how it could take a while to feel it. The saline goes in and sqeezes your stomach and you're restrcited. What else happens that I'm missing? And how could your sinuses affect it? I have sinus problems more often than I don't. Now I'm really confused.:)

  3. I was banded on the 23rd of Aug and am going for my first fill next week. My question is how much of a fill is normal? I can eat a lot of food right now, like today I had 3 cups of chicken and rice for lunch with no problem. I've only lost 8 lbs since surgery and that was all in the first 2-3 weeks. I'm definetly eating less than I used to, but don't feel restricted at all. I have to drive quite a distance to get filled and don't want to have to go back real soon if I don't have to. Any recommendations?

  4. Kim, I can't believe how different your regime is than mine. I have no set times to drink my meals. I have three liquid meals a day with Water inbetween. But the liquid goes through so fast that I'm hungry again in an hour or so, so I sometimes sneak in some Jello or a popsicle. I can't have any milk prodcuts though. Also, I was laproscopic and have 5 incisions but no staples. Stictches and Steri strips.

  5. I had it done at 4:30 in the afternoon. I was supposed to be at 8am but go moved, probably because he was going to assist in yours! Where are you? Who did yours?

I am on Clear liquids for 2 weeks. I mean nothing but Water, gatorade, strained juice, broth and Jello. I'm starving and only have a littel pain on my left and my abs are still a little sore when I cough, sneeze etc. I've only lost 2.5 lbs. How about you?

I think you'll feel better once the patch is gone.

  6. Wow! I had my band put on the 23rd as well and I'm still living on gatorade, Jello and boullion Water. I'm jealous, I'm starving and I've only lost 2.5 lbs (like 1 kilo!) My doctor calls what you're on the pureed diet. I don't get to have those thing until Sept 6th. If your idea of liquids is my pureed then what is your pureed?

  7. I'm having a hard time drinking enough Water. Before the surgery, I drank lots and lots of water. I mean like 3 quarts a day. Now, I can't drink more than a sip at a time. I feel like I'm swallowing air and I burp and it's painful. Will this get better with time? I've only been banded for 5 days. I'm afraid to do anything physical that involves sweating because I don't want to get dehydrated.

Also, anytime I drink anything with calories, broth, juice, gatorade, I get gas bad! Will this go away too?

  8. Thanks for the info leatha_g. I do know that my legs where strapped in on the table and the way the table was there is no way the doc could have stood between my legs. But they feel like they've been moved. So I don't know. I can barely walk on my right calf today. I used a heating pad on my shoulders and neck last night, they feel a little better. I do know my breasts were taped up and out of the way. I can't get the adhesive off!

I feel much better today than yesterday. My biggest problem now is I'm hungry!

  9. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I used the heating pad last night as Debra suggested and I do feel better today. I think sleeping helped too, I didn't sleep at all in the hospital.

I had my surgery done by Dr Grossbard (Florida obesity surgical associates) in Zephyrhills Fl at Pasco Medical Center. I would highly recommend them.

Tricia, it's a dream of mine to live on Clearwater Beach too. I live 8 miles from the beach, where the middle class people live. I doubt I'll ever get there (unless I win the lottery!)

    Last thing. I'M HUNGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. I guess I should introduce myself first before laying my problems out there (see banded last night). I had my band done on 23 Aug 04 by Dr Grossbard in Zephyrhills Fl. I just got out of the hospital today and am in such pain that I got on the net to find some info and found this forum. I've been searching around and have found nothing like my pain. I think my neck hurts because of the position I was in when they intubated me. But why my arms and legs? Could I have tensed up for the entire surgery? It took them 90 minutes to complete because I had so many adhesions from a previous surgery. Also, in the previous post, I meant to click on the sad face, not the angry one. It looks like a good site for support!
