ALL my pets talk to me...so do my kitchen appliances...(the CIA is sending me messages through my toaster..)

Susan, you're too much of a sweetheart to be so down on yourself. Easier said than done though...You know we were banded on the same day?! I have gained eight pounds back and lost it about a dozen times. It's just a matter of learning how to eat and I have screwed up a lot! But when I'm not having a "down on myself" moment, I keep thinking how much more I would have gained back without the band. I haven't even had the turmoil you have encountered..Hang in and take care. You'll get back in the swing of things.

Being an animal rights activist (to put it mildly) bless anyone who has a houseful of kitties. I can only surmise if they do, that they have adopted same.

Wasa, First of all congrats on hitting your goal! From the first time very early on in my endeavor you helped me immensely. Thanks to you, I didn't have to go through the horrible experience of liquid vitamins!! Now, some ideas. A knitting board...you don't have to know how to knit and it goes very fast--the web site is knittingboard.com. Go figure. Just check it out if you have time. You can make simple scarves like there's no tomorrow and then give them to charity. Also, I think you have animals?..anyway, you can make scrapbook pages from photos you have. Any scrapbook site can give you information on how to do it. It's easy, fun and will keep ya busy!! Tell me what you think. Take care.

who supports right to choose

Jodie, I'm just really confused as I'm sure others are. You say your boyfriend in essence repeatedly raped you and underminded you (hiding your pills) yet in recent previous posts you have said he's a great guy, you love him very much and planned on marrying him. Also, you have said he is irresponsible and an alcoholic so how do you expect to be able to depend on him for money? Further, it sounds like it's a matter of time before he'll wind up in prison since he's an habitual felony-commiting criminal. It's probably not a real good idea to count on him for any kind of support--financially, emotionally or morally. In fact, it's not a good idea to even have him around your baby ever..period. -

First of all, bless you for adopting him. Gosh, I wish more folks would. Yes, I have an idea for you. Since I have five...count 'em five..adoptees I am forever looking for things to help with "accidents". The product I'm using right now is: Don Aslett Concentrated X-O Odor Neutralizer..it eliminates the odors so the dog doesn't keep going in the same place. So far it has worked with my old guy, a deaf malmut, who likes my expensive entry rug!! I know what you mean about being sneaky, believe me..the web site to order on line is: Don Aslett. There's a spray bottle with the product that is only $5.45 so if it doesn't work you're not out a fortune. Hope this works for you. Let me know!!! I have Rosco who is a golden retriever who we got when he was eleven months old as well and, like your guy, he's so sweet. He's eight now. He got given up because while he was CHAINED UP ALL DAY, he ate a jet ski...Go figure. Sorry. I'm very passionate about this stuff. I just can't imagine tying a puppy or any dog up at all let alone for hours. I have one more story for you (I can't resist). I have a 14 year-old Samoyed who I adopted a couple of years ago. He was a one-owner dog..they'd had him since he was six weeks old and they gave him up to the Humane Society because THEY WANTED A PUPPY INSTEAD!! Okay, I'm done. Again, I hope the spray stuff helps and let me know if it does or not. -

I live in between Spanish Springs and Palamino Valley...about seven miles from the Albertson's (it's renamed now and I can't think of what it's called)..I adopt dogs and cats from the Humane Society so we had to be a bit out but not too far. That would drive me nuts. -

I really like them a lot too. Laurie does my fills and she's so sweet. I like all the staff there. I like Watson...there was just that one thing. I realized though when I thought about it that the hernias are so common he probably just didn't think of it since it was no big deal. One of the girls who works at the desk gave me a bunch of recipes when I was in there for a fill on Monday. Now how sweet is that. They were her own from her desk and she made me copies. From reading some of the messages on the boards here, we are very lucky to have such a great, competent and friendly place!!! -

Jodie, I am so sorry to hear that this happened. However, it's much better now than if you were to be married or even just living together and learn afterwards. Believe me, it's no fun to be divorced, from a cheating husband, with a baby in your early twenties. I know because I was. This would be a great time to put concerns about guys, including the cheating father of the baby, on the back burner and concentrate on your baby & your mental and emotional wellbeing. I know it's hard not to obsess about the situation when you've been wronged but try to focus on what's important to you right now and what your priorities have to be. Parenting classes, a job, prenatal care and psychiatric counselling are all things that have top priority in your life at present and should keep you busy enough that thoughts about the bum may only be in passing!! What a great benefit, huh??!!! As far as why this happened to you...Honey, this happens ALL the time to people of all ages from all walks of life, men and women alike. Your situation certainly is not unique by any stretch. Hang in there!!! If depression or mood swings are getting to you, get help immediately!!! Please!! You don't need this on top of everything else. Also, if you like to read, go to your public library and check out a bunch of books on pregnancy and childbirth. They will not only be educational but maybe it could help keep your mind on the positive. It's so interesting, too, to see where you are at a given time in your baby's development. Keep writing to us and let us know how you're doing. Take care now.

Chickie and Julie from NY, from this board, are mine!!

...on what Kat said. Though I like country, I also like the 70's rock scene. Edgar Winter, Black Oak Arkansas, Blue Oyster Cult, Three Dog Night, etc..etc..etc...Love Lionel Richie from later on as well. I've seen all these guys and would love to go again...if some of them still existed...!!! My husband LOVES Enya and I think all her music sounds the same!!! He says my twangy music sounds like someone is trying to have a bowel movement and can't quite get there....

COOL!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2: That ain't that long to wait. Keep reading all the stuff you can about your surgery and the band. I bet that keeps you in good spirits in the next couple of months!

I think eventually you can cheat with the bypass or so many people wouldn't gain their weight back. I think it's great you and your wife have both endeavored to get more information before she gets the lap-band. You are showing partner support that is so valuable during this entire process. I, personally, don't care what you name your post or how you word it when you're just trying to get better educated!!! This is important stuff and kudos to you for getting in there and making the effort. In fact, the name of the post and its content probably drew more of us to view your message, hence more responses!!! Best wishes to both of you. Sallie

Sorry this was off subject but I feel so strongly about this, I just had to add it!!!

I hate that bumper sticker that says, "No Fat Chicks". It's been around forever and everytime I see it, it pisses me off. Even when I was much, much thinner, I hated it. How arrogant, ignorant and downright mean!!!!

Jodi, We can only go by the information you have given on your past posts. Any parent who causes "all hell to break loose" when her daughter is trying to take prescribed medication needs some education regarding your bipolar disorder and parental boundaries regarding adult children. You can't take meds while you're pregnant but you probably will need to start up again after the baby is born. If she doesn't take your medicinal needs seriously for your illness it's quite possible she won't take your role as mother seriously either. I don't wish to argue with you regarding your ability to parent or your mother's because I have no idea of either. I'm simply pointing out an issue you might want to address before the baby is born. It would be to your and the baby's benefit. Even the very best of parents can benefit from parenting classes. If there are no classes (if your town has a social services division, which most do...there HAS to be one nearby, then there will be parenting classes available..), then try on-line as Betsyjane suggested. I'm sure there's a wealth of information there. Raising a child, especially possibly without the father, is the hardest thing you'll ever do and you can never be too informed or accept too much educated help in that regard.

When I went to see George, Terri Clark opened for him. You can't get much better than that!!
