  1. newnatalie Nice Post and perspective. Sometimes we as men fail to look at it from your point of view. I am proud of all whom have made this choice and knowing the end result is even better.

Robin, Stay focused on the positive. I think you have many great reasons for the surgery. Stick with the one that means the most. For me it is being healthy!

I am looking forward to posting before and after pictures here real soon. Heck I do not even have any good pics on my facebook, but feel free for you both to friend me if you have one.

Thanks good luck and GOD Bless!

  2. Congrats Mu Dog! You are making excellent progress. I can so relate to how food can rule your life. I am almost 3 weeks post-op and I cannot count the number of times I have said "I just want something good!" Now good for me means illegal. Good is fried chicken, tacos, nachos, shrimp fried rice (Ok, I better stop. I am getting hungry now. Someone pass me a protein shake!)

As you said the Sleeve is just a tool. We must be committed to changing the way we eat and think about food. Thanks for reminding me of this. I wish you the best.

I wish you the best of luck! Please keep me informed of your progress, and know the beginning is the most difficult. Each day gets better!

  3. Wow, how inspiring. And congratulations. I actually just joined this site today and am at the beginning stages of whether or not the sleeve is right for me. I will go to the doctor for my first visit in January. I noticed that you had Dr. Hoen. Is that in KC, MO? I live in KC and know of someone else that went to Dr. Hoen and was very pleased. I was just wondering if there was any advice you have for me and/or any information you can give me about your experiences with Dr. Hoen and the staff at his medical building?

    Thanks so much!

Sorry it has been a minute since visiting the site. Dr. Hoen is absolutely great. I was a self pay and will be following up for my two month visit December 29th. Just know some foods go down easier than others. Stick with the plan. You will be surprised how you are not hungry at all after the surgery. It is simply amazing that I can hardly eat a can of Tuna. I am know adding in Peanut Butter and Banana to my Whey Protein Shake and it is great and filling. Plus I am getting all of the necessary vitamins. It is awesome.

Good Luck, Today I am down 62 pds in less than two months.

  4. Hi MU DOG! How funny we're MU fans too.......it's your new friend  Yvonne from group. Thanks for sharing the site.......I'm excited! Congrats on dropping under that 300, I know exactly how that feels; almost unbelievable. Praying you have the best year ever!!!!

Yvonne, I really wish you the best of luck! I will be praying for you. I tell you I look forward to stepping on that scale instead of regretting looking down at the number. It is truly a great feeling knowing I will never weigh that much again.

Please feel free to call anytime.

    Thanks,

    Dennis

  5. How long did it take for your gas and "uneasy" soreness to go away. I'm only 5 days out, and I will go to work tomorrow, but my stomach is sore, sore and bloated, and I still have a lot of gas. Will each day get better like they say?

Each day does get better and especially after one full week. You will be surprised. Sleeping is easier and getting down your fluids becomes easier. Good luck to you!

  6. Good luck on the liquids, it really isn't that bad. I get the boullion, jello, yogart, water, protein shakes and has went way better than I expected. Don't get me wrong I still want more solids, but get passed the mind set and go walk. Hang in there.
