  1. Here is what I love about week 2: I cannot eat a fraction of what I used to and I am alive and feeling well. What I don't like about week 2 is that I don't feel the thin coming on...girls WHEN does the thin start to come on? Love you all!!!

    ISOPURE CLEAR PROTEIN DRINKS

I bought a case of the grape pre-op and post-op so far have only had 1 bottle...I am drinking coconut water(which has NO protein) and water and Crystal light and my shakes, seriously the Isopure and I don't get along but I love grape Koolaid! LOL
  3. Hope everyone had a nice xmas, in a way I am glad it's done, the amount of food around in the holidays does not seem "normal" anymore. If you have a chance the Xbox360 Zumba and Dance Central are awesome for cardio, I am really getting into it and you can go as easy or as hard as you can.

  4. WOW!!!!! I am 10 days out from surgery and I cannot wait for this day, thanks for sharing as it inspires those of us who have a long way to go. Enjoy Onederland I hear it is AMAZING!
  5. I would for for you guys that are post-op to chime in on this situation that happened yesterday. I went to GNC and was asking about different flavors etc on Protein powders etc...so I start talking to the lady who is helping me and I swear she had so much energy I thought she was on something but anyway she asked me which surgery I had and then proceeded: *Yah but doesn't your stomach stretch and you gain all the weight back? *I have a couple of costumers who got the surgery 10 years ago and one of the is 88lbs and cannot gain she has to be on tube feeds, and the other one passes out all the time and goes to the hospital for blood transfusions once a month due to low Iron....aren't you afraid of that?(I think she may be referring to the bypass...) *I went from 232 to 135 all by myself without surgery I don't want to look sick but if it works for you power to you! I am only barely 9days out girls so....you can imagine how I felt I starred at her for awhile and grabbed my protein, paid, and left, a little bumped since I thought since she worked there she would be more informed but I know our surgery is so young that people either don't know and there is not long term data on it but still how unpleasant. I felt slightly judged and discouraged by this individual. Has this ever happened to you and how did you react?

    Vitamins & Malnourishment

I think you are all correct, thank you, I can honestly tell you guys who are much further out than I that I have NOT in the last seven years remembered feeling this good, WHATEVER it is that this surgery has done for me it has changed my life entirely but it is happening from within which I love. My husband asked me yesterday: "If I gain too much weight can I get this surgery?" Not sure where he is going with this but I have to say the man is transforming too...he has began to understand and every single thing you guys pointed out about what happens is happening. HOW can people who are out there popping energy pills, on phentermine, on some life long meal program, even begin to understand. I think at some point the alcoholic begins to look at alcohol and see the destruction and pain it caused, I feel the same about food, I now look at it not as the enemy but as something that I need to live with a very delicate balance and "respectful" relationship. Thank you once again, this is the best place in the world to develop and grow.
  8. Wishing you all a very Merry Xmas-I feel great and from what I hear it only gets better-SANTA you can have ALL the cookies this year!!!!!

    What are you enjoying most?

I am only 8 days out but I feel better, I am feeling light enjoying not having that "comatose" state after eating all of whatever I could. I am enjoying believe it or not intimacy better already....I am much more willing. My watch is already looser, my pants are not cutting at my waist, my husband is being extra affectionate and I am enjoying seeing the glimpses of what I used to eat like when I go to the mall or restaurant...the portions are in fact HUGE!!!!

    Practice makes perfect?

I came home 7 days ago and the first couple of days I did not want to drink anything, I bought lots of coconut water and kept it by my side taking little sips it actually helped with my pain and discomfort, then after that on to the Crystal Light w/ protein. Once you start drinking you will want to keep drinking I have a 20oz cup and I fill it up 2x per day(previous to surgery I was barely drinking one) but I sip sip and only stop when I know that in 30-40 minutes it is breakfast time or some other meal time. I also check my pee to make sure it is not dark and I think that now I am there where I need to be fluid wise. Protein...that's a whole different scenario. Good luck and message me anytime:)
  11. Thanks I enjoyed reading this article very honest and fresh.
  12. Lesson of the day for me, do not sleep on your stomach when you are 7 days out when you wake up you won't like the pain, I obviously used bad judgement:(

  13. Tomato soup tasted like a steak-my very first post-op meal-2oz of pure joy!!! Now back to the Crystal Light!

  14. Who IS this girl who woke up this morning? NO HUNGER...FULL OF ENERGY and feeling like a princess, far from the mold but my inside feels happy!!! I am realizing minute by minute that my decision was the best one I could have ever made in this lifetime. GOD is good and so is the sleeve!

  15. I have been wanting to write since Thursday but I physically could not, today is the first day I have sat at the computer and I have missed all of you. I went in for surgery Wednesday morning at 11:30 got knocked out pretty quickly and woke up to a lot of pain, Morphine had me throwing up the entire night about 5x all together the nurse was very nervous since she said the last thing she wanted was for me to throw up but there was no other way it was a miserable night, until the doctor prescribed Darvacet and that made me feel a lot better. I left the hospital the next evening after the doctor said my sleeve was strong and without leaks etc. I got home with liquid pain killers and phenergan also liquid which were the only things that seemed to work for me. As far as protein and water and this and that? I simply couldn't I got a little broth in and felt like I was gonna throw up, I opened my fridge and smelled garlic for some reason and felt like throwing up...then the gas...thanks to all of you who advised me to buy a gas pill because for some reason that's what is causing most of my discomfort right now, I remember Tiff saying that she has these little burps well I am burping all the time it is a bit strange for me I have to admit. I was able to use the restroom for the first time for #2 yesterday which was 4 days post op. I also got my period yesterday...the scale has moved but it all must be the water weight because I am peeing but not drinking as I should. I am praying with time things will heal and I can at least eat something I got all these Isopures but have a hard time drinking them. My husband has helped with the kids which has been very important as I have been able to focus on getting better. I will post pictures and such soon of incisions and things like that if anyone cares to see but if there is anything you can share with me I really need the support right now to keep going, love you all.

    I am sleeved and alive!

Thank you all for being so sisterly to me, things are getting better mostly my energy level but if I had to use a scale of 1-10 I would say I feel like a 6 , intestines seem to be full operational, I feel like a baby(getting burped:)-This is been truly the greatest support group in THE WORLD to me.
  17. I am not gonna lie, the chicken broth, the crystal light, and the strange stomach pains at night are doing me in today is my first day with the kids GOD help me!!

    Hot Flashes

I can tell you that being barely 5 days out I know what you mean for me my entire face begins to feel warm, I look like I caked on blush and it is a very weird feeling, I wonder if that's the fat melting off my face? LOL
  19. Sipping water...or trying to:(((Nowhere near protein requirements:(

  20. Thank you all for the prayers I am here, I am alive, and hoping to get well soon:(http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/11623-i-am-sleeved-and-alive/

  21. I am 3 hours away from surgery and wanted to thank everyone of you for all your support I promise to check in as soon as possible-LOVE-BZ

  22. I have a bottle of GNC multi which are these big green horse pills, I bought a pill crusher and split them in half for AM and PM same thing with Calcium Citrate I split it, I thought it might be easier going down, I know a lot of you use chewables like Flintstones is there a particular reason? I wanted to use these pills and not waste the money so I am hoping that they can get in somehow. I am getting sleeved tomorrow, I have the protein on board and little 3oz cups so I can measure things out. If you can share with me your jagged little pill experiences and also if you can think of anything else I would truly appreciate it. I have not yet purchased the B12 sublingual, GNC was out(can you believe it!!).
  23. Tomorrow...tomorrow I love you tomorrow, so my bag is packed for the hospital, I could not sleep last night(you know...the thoughts) and now I need to prepare some dishes so family can survive without me for a couple of days were you nervous before your big day?

  24. <72hrs before I am sleeved and I woke up this morning and printed out two messages for myself which I will place on my bathroom mirror and on the fridge. #1-I make myself happy! #2-It's only temporary!(this one is to remind me that I will not stay big forever and that each size gives me more hope of being lose to the next). To all the husbands who promised their wives NEW wardrobes if we lost and got healthy...GET YOUR WALLETS READY! kkkkk

  25. Hubby is so excited for my surgery that I am beginning to become irritated...LIKE SERIOUSLY can you you calm the heck down? You'd think he won some kind of a lottery...I told him that those who win sometimes aren't so lucky!LOL
