  1. I am 10 months post-op, and let me tell you what. Yes you are hungry, the longer I go into this the more I realize, that yes, they do shrink your stomach size, but they do not do anything with hunger pains, so of course you still want to eat, and eventually your stomach will start to enlarge, yes I eat alot less but it still isn't the easy fix, I would have liked, but let me say something else, I am a drinker, and I know that doesn't help at all. That's my fault and no one elses'. Yes it's nice there, they don't speak alot of english, but they were accomodating!

re you hungry? and was it nice down thier? that is where i am thinking of going, and how old are you,if you do not mind my asking i am 65 do you think that is to old, and how long till you felt better nancy

  2. How are you doing now?

    Hi

had it done in mexica with Dr Rodreguz. I puked blood for 30 hours, severe gastric reflux. Now I am ok 17 days out except hungry all the time and I think my stomach pouch is too big. 15 minutes after i eat way more than 3 to 4 oz, Im hungry again. Complications page is on obisityhelp.com Go to forums, weight loss related, more, and click on complications

Know what you want and keep headed that direction. I'm glad i did what i did but I guess I wanted it to be easier! This is a battle we have to fight every day! DON'T GIVE UP!!! Keep us informed! Jen

  4. Hello Karen

I had my plication done Oct 12 in Tia Juana with Dr. Corvala. I have had absolutely no issues as of yet, except maybe I feel a little more tired than I want to. I have lost 17 lbs as of this morning and am a little over 3 weeks out. I didn't have any isssues with throwing up, sliming or anything else, yes, you do burp alot and the first time you overeat sucks, there is a pressure on your chest and then the burping starts, but you have to learn what works for you. I am very happy I did it, I have 52 more lbs to lose. It is hard in the beginning but does get better. Hve faith and stay strong, it's not going to be easy but you can do it! Best of luck to you. Jen

  5. Good luck! I hope all goes well for you. I had little pain but just felt lousy for a couple of days. Lots of burping! Just be patient the first couple of days, it gets better quickly. I was back to work on day six. I'll be thinking about you today.

Yep, you were right, day 5, which is today, I feel decent, I would go back to work tomorrow if I needed to, I don't work. Everyone it does get better!!!

  6. Check out the complications forum. Before my surgery all I saw was how good this was and how wonderful. Funny after the operation is when I learned of all the people with complications. I had bad complications too. i am 16 days post op and still am wondering if I did the right thing. 70% of the time I wish I never did it. I hope that changes with time. It changes your life big time,,and not always for the better.

Where is the compllications forum? Now 4 days post-op, not feeling wonderful yet, but hopefully soon, anyways, let me know where this forum is and thanks, and of course best wishes. Where did you go, who did it, and what kind of complications are you having?

  7. hi Fit i have been reading on the forum for sometime now but have never really talked to any one on here.I am in canada and am going in January to mexico with the same Dr. can you tell me any info that may think that is important for me to know.i am just nervous about the surgery itself and the next few days after

Hi laura, I'm leaving to Tiajuana on tuesday for sugery with Dr. C also, I will let you know how it goes! I'll be back in touch. Say a prayer!!! I'm nervous too. Jen

  8. Hi everyone, it's Justjen again, getting closer. One big thought that I can't see anyone has really addressed yet. Is anyone concerned with what happens with the part of the unused stomach since it stays attached. I know we are all guinea pigs in this instance since we are having it done without any long term results yet. But what is everyones opinion on this? Will we have to go back at a later date and have revisions?

  9. Congrats! I remember you posting somewhere that you had a lower bmi... I am here now waiting in my room and scared to death!!!! My bmi is 30 and has been for years so I hope this is my answer... The doubts are in my mind, but I will do it... Keep us updated!

    Mari

So where are you at? You were in the "room" and now we hope you are on your way to a "fitter" lifestyle! If I have missed your comments I apologize but am wonderig where you are at now?? Jen

  10. I would like to start the plication weight loss check in thread

Everyone that has had the Plication surgery would come here and update there weight loss daily, weekly and monthly.

    Calling all GPS'S!!!!!!!!!

Well guys, I go in Next Wednesday for the plication surgery to Tia Juana, MX. I'm starting at 217 lbs, am 5'7" and want to get to 150 so I'm not sure how to start the little ticker. But just wondering how everyone is doing on their weightloss? Is everyone still happy with the plication procedure? Any tough plateau's yet? What else do I need to know? I saw the gas strips, pillow, chapstick. Any other input would be great. Thanks everyone, Jen

  11. Ack! What should I bring with me? Wanted to bring my iPad but too scared it'd get stolen. Sweatpants? T-shirts? Toothpaste? I've never stayed in a hospital before and I guess it's gonna be a 2 day stay.

Plus my nerves are really starting to get the best of me, am I making the right decision? I know I'll feel better once everything is over with, the anticipation is difficult.

    Wish me luck everyone!

    ~Tankie~

Don't worry, it will all be over soon, I go in next week, so I know how you feel, but think once it's over we have a new life to begin!!!!! What a way to end a year! Jen

  12. I'm still here! I hit onederland a few days ago. YAY!!! Just barely, but I'm there. Almost 11 weeks since surgery and 33.6 lbs off. It does slow down but its coming off. What's the big hurry anyway? LOL.:)

Are you doing any exercising, when did you start eating food, how long after surgery? what does a normal meal consist of? Yep I'll be going into the holidays hopefully alot lighter!! AND alot happier!
