    Drain tube

I also had Dr. Teel, he took mine out right before I was released to go home. For me that incision hurt the worst and left the most noticable scar since it's not taped together like the others were. This one they just pull the tube out and and cover with gauze. It's not as horrible as it sounds because you are still under the pain meds. I think the worst part about the drain tube is that they attach it with stitches and they have to cut those right before removing it , (the nurse does that). Then Dr. Teel comes in and pulles it out. I remember he jokingly said I was stressing out way too much about the removal of the tube. He was right. It didn't hurt really, it was just an odd feeling.

  6. Hi, It's my 5 month surgiversarry today. I won't say everything has been perfect but I am very happy with my sleeve. My surgery was NOV16 2010, it went great. About 10 days later all the excitement began.. long story short I was put back into the hospital diagnosed with pancreatitus and 3 blood clots in the Mesentaric, Splenic and Portal veins. So I was in for 10 days. I'm now on coumindin, probably for the rest of my life. After a TON of bloodwork I got my results back and found out that I hve a rare blood disorder called Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome. Anyone know anything about this? I've googled everything I can about it.. Anyway, yes I'm happy I had the surgery! In a way it may have saved my life... That blood disorder I have is the #1 killer of women under 50yrs who have strokes. That is not a normal thing to test for. So... starting weight I weighed 267 day of surgery 260 (Nov 16,2010), Current weight right now April 16,2011 is 197! total of 70lbs since pre op weight! YAY! I'm 5'5" my goals weight is 140.... and maybe once I get there maybe 130 (hehe).
  7. I just went to your page to see how you were doing and I read about your surgery being postponed! :( Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear about all that you are going through. It's good they do all those test though to make sure surgery will go well. These next few weeks will go fast and before you know it it'll be your surgery date. ;-)

  8. I found out from the test of the pancreatitus that it caused by my bad gullbladder, I have a "low functiouning" Gallbladder and it's full of stones from the rapid weight loss.. I really wish he would have taken out when I got the sleeve, My autoimmune disorder is just genetic and that along with the pancraititus is was cause the 3 clots I feel SO much better, healthier, more energy. I smile more! I'm not the fattest person in the room YAY! I'm looking forward to the next few months I hope to meet goal by my 1 year anniversay I had the sleeve done at Miami Valley Hopsital in Dayton, OH - Premeier Metabolic- DR. Teel. Most wonderful doctor! I trust him enought that I feel fine with my mom getting it done by him. She is just starting her process now.

    Hair Loss

Hi, just a suggestion before you buy a whole 12 pack of the Isopure. They sell them individually so try a couple out first. In my honest opinion I think they are too protein tasting for me it made me gag and it had such a bitter taste. I tried the grape, fruit punch and blue one. Good Luck :-)

    shoe size?

I have definatly lost weight in my feet. My favorite Kenneth Coles that I bought even though they were too small for me.. now actually fit... and are really almost too big now.

  21. I had 4 incisions & 1 IV. Three of my scars are so tiny i can barely see them anymore, the largest one is about 1 inch and it's in my belly botton so it's hardly noticable. Good luck with your surgery, I know you've been waiting for this day for a while. Yay

    Birth Control after VSG

I stopped my bc pills 1 month prior to surgery and was able to start them 3 weeks after my surgery per my surgeon. I was stupid and waited only 2 weeks after surgery. Well Guess what. I got a blood clot in my mesentaric vein. Dr said it was due to starting the bc pills early, It's horrible. I have to take Coumidn (blood thinner) for at least 6 months! and also get blood tests every week to check my levels. And, periodic CT scans to see if it has moved or dissolved. I've never had any history of clots, noone in my family has had clots, I don't smoke. Just the combination of major surgery and starting my bc pills early caused it. And now I cannot have any type of hormonal birth control. EVER again. Please listen to what ever your DR says, and follow his orders. I wish I would have.

    Longest Stall Contest

I'm about 9 weeks out and I've had a 22-24 day stall. During that time I bounced between 218-220. Yesterday i was so happy because I finnaly broke my stall and weighed in at 216... Well today, guess what, back to 118. Needless to say I'm not a happy camper about that. But, I know it's ok, I just need to relax because it'll happen. It's true, my clothes feel bigger. People at work keep complementing me and guys are starting to check me out, lol. I just want to get to Onederland SOOO bad. The other stall I had was about 3 weeks out and that lasted for 10 days, but then I dropped 6 lbs overnight. Yes. They suck!!! But, you will lose the weight. Keep us updated on your progress!
  24. That is so awesome! Congrats girl!!!
