  1. Hi coops,

Thanks for your kind words. I'm feeling great. No complications so far. I had very bad morning sickness and my gallstones started acting up 4 weeks ago. Ended up in hospital for two weeks but all fine since then thank god. Have to remove gallbladder after the baby.

I still have about 6 stone to lose and a lit of excess skin but fingers crossed ill get there :-)

It has been the best decision I have ever made to be honest and I hope reading this thread helps people out there to get the courage to go for it.

It changed my life. I was 32 stone and could barely walk. I'm now 20 and feel like a new person.

I hope your doing good and feeling fab x

  2. Hi Booklean and anyone else from Ireland. Forgot about this site but got some email notifications so decided to update on here.

I had my op on 22nd of September 2010. I've had no real complications since and everything has gone well. So far I have lost approx 12 stone and am now expecting a baby this coming September!

Still losing very slowly during pregnancy but have been assured baby is getting all it needs. Would love to hear how everyone is doing.

  3. Hi guys,

Lots to update you all on. Have finally got rid of the gas pains. Thank you God! Lol. They were the worst part of the whole op. My incisions are almost fully closed up. You can barely see them.

I saw my dietican yesterday and got lots of good news. I'm allowed move to to pureed foods. I can have scrambled egg. Woohoo! And I'm down 39 lbs! I'm delighted. Now I'm 392lbs. Cannot believe it. Feeling great and my menstrual cycle has returned after 15 months of nothing. Looks like thongs are getting back on track. Eating and drinking is still hard but I'm getting there.

I hope everyone is doing good. Let me know how everybody's journey is going. Thanks for your constant support

  4. Hi guys, time for another update I guess. Got home from the hospital yesterday which was fab. Not in half as much pain anymore and feeling better by the day. Down 24lbs already so I'm delighted. I need to have my bandages off tomorrow and I should feel even better after that. Only thing I'm having major problem with is lying down. I find my bed much to flat. It puts massive pressure on my tummy. As far as eating goes I've not able to have much at all. Some sloppy porridge-2 spoons for Breakfast and homemade Soup twice a day, a further two spoons each time. On my Calcium and Vitamins also so think I'm doing pretty well. Hope everyone is feeling well. All my livexxx

  5. Hi guys sorry for lack of updates, been having a bad time of it. Supposed to be going hone tommorrow but looks like things have been delayed a bit. Up with diarrhea and very bad pain in tummy all night, the wound sites are very sore. Missing the morphine a lot, doesn't seem like the paracetemol is cutting it. Had 2 spoons of porridge today. It went right through me but felt ok to eat. Cathader is out now thank god so able to go toilet when I like. Physio have me walking the corridors to kill the stiffness. Hopefully feel much better soon.

  6. Hi guys, thanks for all the support. Checked in the hospital today but surgery isn't happening until tomorrow. That's how they do it here in Ireland. All settled in my room now and feeling really at ease to be honest. I have met everyone whose going to be working on me and they are all great. Fingers crossed for tomorrow guys. Can't wait to log back on as a sleeved

  7. Thanks for all your kind replies guys. I really wish my surgery date was here. I can't wait to get sleeved at this stage. I'm so glad I made this decision but am realising I will have to completely change my whole life for this to work. I can't believe how much I have relied on food all along. My whole life revolved around my next meal. I think I need a hobby lol. I can't think about stuffing my face anymore. I need a new vice lol. Thanks you guys for sharing with me

  8. Hi EmmaLouise,

Wishing you all the best next week and also on your entire weight loss journey.

Where are you having your surgery?

    Booklean

Hi booklean, thank u for the well wishes, how are you? I'm having my surgery done by Mr. Colm O Boyle in the bon secours hospital in cork. I'm finding pre op so tough.

  9. I so totally agree with this!

    Hey Emma,

I'm also 23, and totally freaked! My surgery is 2 weeks from today and I've started my pre-op diet. It can be scary especially if you're like me and you've never had surgery before-- I'm really scared of the anesthesia. Just try to focus on the wonderful, exciting aspects of the surgery... think of all the lovely things it will enable you to do, and forget about the scary stuff!

These forums definitely help too, please stick around, we need eachother :thumbup1:

    Hi!

It's so great to hear from someone my age and who hasn't had surgery yet. This place is really great for meeting people who are in the same place as u.

How are u feeling about your surgery? I'm getting excited now I must admit.

Keep me updated on ur progress.

    X Emma
