    is it unusual?

You're all lucky. My surgeon made me wear my drain for six days AFTER leaving the hospital. It was quite a pain to drag around. It also felt like my internal organs were being pulled out through the small hole it was in when they took it out haha.

    Almost Outta Here!

Warning: the first time urinating after the cath is taken out hurts like hell.
  3. Well, I worked Tuesday and yesterday and was fine, just a little tired in the afternoon. I am, however, glad that I'm off until Saturday.

    Wheeeennnn?????

I'm a week out, and they've slowed, but they still drive me nuts.
  5. Oh, I will be. They already know I'm coming off surgery and that I'll be heading home if I don't feel well.
  6. I'm going back to work tomorrow, six days following my surgery. I'm sure I'll regret it tomorrow, but I need the money to get back to college next month. Such is the life of a seasonal, "at will" employee who goes to school, I guess.

    Carbonation

I'm definitely going to ask when I go see him on Thursday, but this morning I had a "eureka!" moment where I realized that, by switching surgeries, I might have found a carbonation loophole. Heh.
  8. They gave me anti-nausea medicine, but it wasn't working. They called my surgeon and he told them to give me something else for the nausea, and that worked - unfortunately it took awhile for me to be able to get that new medicine, because my IV came loose (I turn in my sleep) and we had to wait for the IV nurse to come and give me a new one. Once they gave me that medicine, it all went away. They also gave me the patch for behind the ear, which I'm still using just in case haha.
  9. I have a surgical drain that isn't being removed until Thursday 7/28. In the meanwhile, I have no plans to remain a shut in, so I'm wondering if any of you have ideas on how to conceal it. Would taping it to my belly with medical tape be ok?:cool0:
  10. I was in a lot of pain the day after surgery, and I also had a lot of dry heaving that same day, which my doctor assured me was normal. That day was miserable, but I'm now 4 days post-surgery and feeling better by the hour.
