My husband is active duty Air Force. We have Tricare Prime, and my revision was performed at a military hospital. Tricare covers the VSG only at military hospitals that are performing the sleeves. If I could not have found a military hospital that did sleeves, I would not have been approved. I jumped hoops, and fought for the revision. They just wanted to replace my band, and I refused it saying if they wouldn't approve it, they could take my band out, and take the risk of my stomach being screwed up from the band, and having to fix that problem.
