  1. I am 2 months out and im finding it hard to find things i enjoy eating. It has become more of a hassle or chore than anything. I used to love cooking but now anything I make goes to waste. Things dont taste good like they used to. Meat especially... I find meat to be very hard to eat and enjoy. Even the smell of things makes me gag...Anyone else have this issue ?? I hope it passes cause its starting to worry me.
  2. Somebody told me that I can add the protein shakes to my liquid consumption for the day? I wasn't doing that before... Does anybody else do that?? :001_tongue:
  3. Do you measure chili with a scale or do you measure the ounces in a cup?

    ok so...i feel stupid asking :scared0: but is 3oz like little less than 1/2 cup?
  5. my nut said protein shakes and caffeinated coffee doesn't count towards liquid intake because it dehydrates your body...SO CONFUSING!!:confused:
  6. i buy the pre made protein shakes the "oh yeahs". So i assume that should count too. I usually drink 14oz shake in morning and another half or more later on in the evening. YAY ill start adding that to my fluid intake...thanks guys!

    Lotion on incision sites?

    I got the okay from my doc to start using scar cream once the scabs fell off...so I have been using Scar Zone everyday on the incisions.

    2 Months Out

    Thats amazing ...good for you and your success! I am a little behind you...about 6 weeks out now and it just reassures me things will keep getting easier. QUESTION...how were you after having a cocktail? I am going away in one month and would love to drink a glass of wine or mixed drink...Did you ever feel sick? Full? fine? I just dont want to go on vaca and make a wrong choice. But I would love at least one or two cocktails during my 9 day vacation. Any input would be great! THANKS:)
  9. Thanks guys! I just feel like I shouldnt be having such a long stall 5 weeks out. I think im going to call my nut tomorrow. To top it off I took a picture (I hate pictures) yest with a friend and it brought my low even LOWER. OMG I dont see 25lb gone I just see fat ol me. Nothing changed!!!! I was slowly feeling better about myself then BAMMMMM my self esteem dropped back down to nothing. All this food logging and working out is just not helping. Sorry to vent bad 2 days:sad0:

    Carbs???

    A month out has anyone had carbs? A little here and there. Im dying for sushi but it has rice on it. Is that okay??The other day i had a little bite of a veggie sandwich on panini. Are bread and crackers a complete no no right now. Even tho I only have a few bites...and its whole wheat?

    I give up!!!!

    it takes me over 2 hours to get a 14oz shake. By then its luch time and have no room to eat..so try tiny bit of chili or something. Then do protein wafer protein bar cause it goes down pretty easy. Feel there not enough time in day and then to add water...ohhh boy its hard. def dont think im getting enough water 64oz maybe half that on a good day!:thumbup1:

    newfor2010...how are u getting in 80 grams protein i strugge with 50...and im not losing weight either..any ideas? maybe i should call my nut!
  13. I am little over a month out...My weight has not dropped more than 2 pounds in over 10 days.... I get in 55g protein maybe 10 grams carbs. Honeslty its hard to get in enough protein i always feel kind of full.....and I been going to gym almost every morning walking 2 miles....whats the deal??? what am I doing wrong?

    I love OH YEAH bars and shakes:thumbup: I have case of them. My support group got me hooked on them. I got them at GNC they also have them at vitamin shop but I dont now if you guys have that store....
  15. "OH YEAH" protein bars are good. My support group got me started on them....like 2-4 grams sugar 14 grams protein think 200 cal....the shakes are good to have case of them:thumbup:
  16. Hey guys so im month out...I have this weird gurgling/noise issue in my throat. Its loud and awkward and I dont know what to do. Thank god I only been around family n friends but I feel when I start massage school in Sept. Its going to be very EMBARRASSING for everyone to hear this uncontrollable LOUD gurgling (best way to describe it) that lasts anywhere from 5 to 60 minutes. Especially if I eat or drink something. Does this mean during school hours I cant do either? Has this happened to anyone else and does it get better??:001_rolleyes:

    Tiff ..Thanks so much for the ideas. Im definitely going to try some chicken in the crock pot and going out to eat can be so challenging. Today I picked off everyone's plates. Which equaled 3 little bites of fish a bite of potatoes and like 2 tiny bites of coleslaw lol. Staring at the bread and fries was very difficult lol. Thanks again for the tips ill def use them!!

    TIFF..When do you think I could try rice ect? Meat really isnt going down well so I been living off of cheese, shakes and protein bars. SO sick of tuna and egg salad with nothing to eat it with lol. I usually dont get in more that 50-55 grams protein a day. Im going out later for fathers day and since I cant really eat I figure I will get soup...you think french onion would be okay??
  20. They have me on prilosec 2x a day actually. Its weird tho it doesnt feel like its in my stomach it really feels like its coming right out of my throat. I sound like a gurgling monster. :scared0:But at least theres hope it will go away then...thanks!
  21. Burping and gas is a good thing. Thant means everything is coming up. KEEP WALKING it helps...I actually was very bloated my 1st few day because I wasnt doing that. As for the gurgling Im month out and still gurgle like CRAZY after I eat or drink. Its loud and pretty embarrassing. I was just talking to my hubby about it because I go back to massage school in sept and I feel like I will start gurgling in the middle of a quiet classroom. I cant control it and I feel like it never stops. So weird!!!!!

    i use "oh yeah" protein shakes there good have them at gnc try one....or soy protein shakes. Once i got to 4 weeks i can eat oh yeah protein bars..yummy...just some ideas
  23. I was never a breakfast person either. Im only month out so food isnt easy to get down but OH YEAH protein shakes have 32 grams protein and there really good. Its nice to start the day with half my protein intake!!!

    Post Op questions - How long?

    I was able to start sleeping on my side after about two weeks. Thats when things start to heal and im now one month out and my scabs are starting to fall off.
  25. im one month post op tomorrow too....its still real hard for me to eat anything different also. Tuna Chic salad and Egg go down the best. Im starting to eat OH YEah protein bars....that goes down suprisingly well too....just takes all day to eat it. I went to lunch today and had 3 bites of fish and 2 fries...i couldnt help myself....got VERY full...went home and threw up....i feel like i take to big of bites somethimes and I try to eat slow but when it taste so good sometimes I eat faster without thinking about it!!!!!!!!!
