    Feeling really sick

If it helps any your urine should be clear... if it is darker colored you are dehydrated and need more fluids. Sorry to hear that you were hit with a double whammy. Hope you feel better quickly!
  3. I feel the same way... one minute I am ready and gung ho ... then the next minute I am petrified. I have the same thought patterns... maybe I can do it myself... I can change everything. Then I realize if I was going to do it, I would have already made the changes. I have tried weight loss plans and programs until I am blue in the face. I lose the weight but sooner or later I drop everything and it all comes back with a vengence. I have second and third thoughts about the surgery but the reality of my knees hurting and my feet on top of other health issues weigh on me more. I need to make this change for myself and the surgery will make it possible. I have my last weigh in on July 1st... then blood work and PCP approval.... and then I can set a surgery date. I feel lucky that my husband will be doing the same procedure. It will make it easier to have his support and vice versa.

    Almost 5 weeks out!

It is wonderful to hear that you are doing so well and you are happy. I get anxious about the surgery and keep talking myself out of it.. then later I look at myself in the mirror or in photos and I talk myself back into it... I am a giant chicken lately. hehe It is nice to see so many people doing so well.
  5. Thank you everyone! I appreciate your responses.
  6. I have my second to last weigh in tomorrow morning. I have few basic questions... are they any questions you wish you would have asked before surgery?

What are you looking forward to?

I agree with you Kathy... When I hear someone say things like "just quit eating so much!" I want to scream at them! Most of the people who are blessed with a fast metabolism do not understand what is it like to be an overweight person.

    Very Sick- Please Help!

Hope you feel better soon!! The nurse at my bariatric center advised us to get some sample spoons or baby spoons. She said it helps you visualize the right size bite.. She also uses a 1/4 measuring cup when she is making her meals. She said it works better for her if she actually eats out of the measuring cup. Sending you healing energy!! You will find the right balance... remember to have patience with yourself. : )
  12. That is awesome that you have a partner in crime! It makes things that much easier when you have someone who is experiencing the same life altering experiences and is invested in your success as well as their own!!
  13. we were lucky that the psychologist was just down the hall from our doctor. She was very nice and easy to talk to. I appreciated her professionalism and demeanor. It is a very fine line between a professional clinical environment and feeling like a bug under glass.
  14. From my doctor's office they recommed the unflavored unjury protein powder because you can add it to anything.
  15. Good for you for making the decision. Becareful not to over do it with the Sauna so soon after having surgery. I wish you all the best on your journey to find a healthier you!
  16. Thank you so much Sparkle!! Dr. Podkameni was very easy to talk to and willing to answer all of my questions. He uses a 40 oz bougie. He also oversews on the staples and has 0% leakage. It was really helpful to have these questions, I realized when reading them that I had wanted to ask several of them but in the month between weigh-ins they slipped my mind. Oh I also found out that I will get to speak to the Anethesiologist 2 1/2 weeks before the surgery. I am going to talk to him/her about using a smaller tube if possible to lessen the amount of friction on my vocal cords.

  23. I agree with Tiffykins sometimes caffeine can be too much of a yummy thing... hope things get better for you. Stress can also be a factor... so if you are worried about it sometimes that can also add to the end result.
  24. Thinking of you and hoping you are doing well with your recovery. This is a huge step in your life and I admire your courage for doing it. : )
