Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?
Globetrotter replied to coops's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
yesterday was a fast day, I did about 550 cals, this morning woke up 2 pounds down. Today is a norm day - the morning after my last norm day I woke up 3 pounds up, so, I will approach the scale tomorrow morning with trepidation/resignation. -
How much are these DVDs?

Depression/Anxiety and Maintenance
Globetrotter replied to cookie2012's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I see no joy in life, no point, no hope. It just seems like an endless marking of time, even though I know quite well how finite our time is. Even though I love exercising and get high off of it like it is an actual drug, I haven't been to the gym in over a week. No matter what I do I don't lose weight and am still obese. Even though I am pretty and funny and considerate men just look right through me or just want one thing from me and thats it. There's just no point to any of it. I'm sick of being nothing, I'm sick of being so f*cking fat. -
The best ever (IMO) are the Marika Tech mid-calf yoga leggings. The waistband is wide and comes all the way up to the navel but the trimming is low around the hips, giving you the best of high-waisted and low-rise The thickness of the fabric is perfect, thick enough to smooth everything out and absorb sweat, thin enough to stay sleek and not get in your way or make you overheat (an issue for me). Best ever!!

Depression/Anxiety and Maintenance
Globetrotter replied to cookie2012's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was just thinking about the physiological link between obesity/overeating/thyroid disorders/depression. I am currently doing an alternate days fasting plan and I've noticed that on days when I am fasting I am super depressed, just listless and filled with negative thoughts. Have I been self-medicating all these years? Chemically depressed, not realizing it, and medicating with carbs? I'm completely serious. -
A fasting day.. B - white of a boiled egg D - tuna salad S - 1 oz Jerky lots of water/tea, a little coffee.

It wasn't a theory, LouiseC, it was an opinion, like everyone else's here.

Well I had a fast day, anorm day, and today is a fast day. The morning after my first fast day I was down 3 pounds, this morning, up 3 lbs. Today I ate the white part of a boiled egg for breakfast, will drink hot tea/coffee/cold water throughout the day, then will have tuna salad for dinner. I've also decided to alternate my workout days, doing my cardio on norm days, at least at first. We'll see. -
I have this one pair of calf length yoga leggings that fit so awesome and make me feel like I must look great! Until I saw myself in the mirror, they enhanced every little ripple and crater in my skin

Because that is not what the plan calls for, if you read it they say a quarter of your daily caloric need, which they factor at 2000 cals. But, for me/my body/sleeve, using the calculators at my disposal, I actually need a little less than 1600 cals a day. So, a quarter of that ... -

What is it about eggs I wonder ... I am nearly 3 years out and if I want to feel like a post-op again, I just eat an egg, over medium, made by me in a frying pan with a little real butter. A homemade egg, or from a very good restaurant (not a greasy spoon) fills me up yes like someone said, like Thanksgiving dinner, oofda! Another one is lunch meat and cream cheese rolls up, I like turkey and plain cream cheese, roll them up tight like cigars and after only 3 turkeyrillos (lol) I am absolutely shtoofed. -
I'm surprised nobody has talked about the chemical composition of seminal fluid, it's quite alkaline aka - battery acid, hence the poisonous taste. I imagine our tender tummies aren't too happy getting doused in such chemicals, kinda like how someone with an ulcer is supposed to avoid coffee or tomato juice. If a dude is adamant about me swallowing, I tell him to have a taste first, if he can then honestly tell me that that the taste isn't vomitous, then by all means! Otherwise they don't know what they are asking of us.

I did my first fasting day yesterday - a Quest bar, a small chicken breast, coffee, cucumbers ..... ..... and a butterfinger. I hate butterfingers, but I was so depressed at the end of the day, having only eaten 430 calories .... So, today I am going to eat at my TDEE/IIFYM target (1545) or as close as I can get, and tomorrow I will attempt to adhere to 430. FeedYourEye, IIFYM ... http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ -

NannieG - are you eating 500 on your fast day? Because I went to the website and it said to eat 1/4 your regular intake on fast days. So, on your normal day, do you actually eat 2000 calories? My TDEE/IIFYM says I should be eating 1545 cals, 1/4 of that is only like 380 something. -

I checked out the Fast Diet and it says to eat 1/4 of your required cals on the fast days - since TDEE IIFYM says my required cals are 1545, that means that on fast days I would be eating only 386 calories!! -
I loved ice cream before, now it just tastes too ... "bright", I mean, it tastes like pure sugar and fat, unless I make homemade. Also, the intense release of sugar into my blood stream makes me feel like the tail end of a 3 day bender :/ On the flip side, you couldn't have paid me to eat a mushroom before, now I purposely search out mushroom recipes!

female only water water everywhere, but not a drop to drink...
Globetrotter posted a topic in The Gals' Room
This isn't necessarily a sleever's issue of course, but this is my only online community where I can vent so, here goes ... I am deployed, the male to female ratio is 10-1 and a lot of these guys are young and hard, if they aren't working they are working out. I watch them do pull ups in the weight hangar and my mouth waters. It has now been ... 5 week since I've had any intimacy and I really. really. REALLY. want. IT. They all stare at me, stare holes through me, undress me with their eyes - and take their time about it, but none of them approach me or take the initiative. All those tanned muscles ... twitching biceps and corded forearms that could just lift me ... hmmmmm. -
Why am I the only one using these threads anymore? brunch - 2 oz steak, 1 special K Protein bar, one bag special K protein chips, one serving beef Jerky dinner - chicken, green salad.

THE DRY SPELL IS OVER!!!! Found a hottie, another civilian like myself. Saw him, knew what I wanted, made it happen. Now the frustrating part, there's no place we can be alone together! We both share huts with a lot of other people and no men are allowed in the womens hut and vice versa. His is a little easier to handle because his room actually has walls that go up to the ceiling so if he sneeks me in, it's manageable. But I can't risk falling asleep because I can't risk doing the morning walk o' shame. But still, finally!! -
Any sleevers with narcissistic mother?

Why give her an answer at all? This person is toxic, and it genuinely doesn't matter what you say to her, it is fuel for her poison. If you don't see her till there is a dramatic change, and she flips out, eaten up with pathetic jealous rage, demanding to know what you have done, flat out ask her, "why? why does it matter to you? which answer will make you behave pleasantly toward me? Will reduce your toxic behavior?" Anything else is just participating in the sickness. -

Fiddle - could you give me some suggestions as to what kind of lifting set to do? Right now I do several machines: one where I sit, grip 2 handles and push away from my chest. That one I do 40 pounds, 3 sets of 12. Another I sit and instead of pushing the handles away, I push them up. That one I do 24 pounds, 3 sets of 12. Another I sit, thread my shins under a pad and thrust upward, that one is 50 pounds, 3 sets of 12. I also take a 15 lb weight, hold it in both hands behind my head, and lift, 3 sets of 20, to work the triceps. All of this I do in a single session and by the next night I'm pretty sore. I also do calf raises, 3 sets of 20, in that session. These weights are so heavy for me, that by the final 3 reps I'm grunting and struggling not to break form. What can I be doing differently? -

Thank you, I know you and others are offering the best advice you can, it just gets so ... disheartening. I'm now doing some diet *brokenhearted sigh* I heard another sleever mention, a fasting diet - normal day/fast day/normal day/fast day etc. On fast days you eat less than 600 cals, on either day carbs are still a minimum. We'll see. This deployment may last a year.
