  1. That's awesome! I would be excited too. :thumbup1:
  2. I agree, back off a little on the food making sure you only introduce one new thing at a time so you can identify anything that bothers you.
  3. If your dr didn't prescibe something like prilosec or nexium, you can get them OTC until you can get something from your dr. If you are taking something like that already, then I would suggest calling the dr. and letting him know it's not working properly.

It's a huge life decision. But, like you said, for some of us, our life depends on it. Trust yourself, you know if you are doing the right thing for your health. Best of luck to you.
  5. I have read several times that one of the biggest misconceptions people have about WLS, is that it will solve all of their problems. It can change your life is a big way, which is great. But, just be aware that it can't change everything.
  6. I really don't know what to do. The only thing I would suggest, is to call your dr(if he's still open) or the E.R. and ask what you should be looking for as far as signs that something is wrong. I so hope it just passes through. Good luck.
  7. Glad things went well for you. Hope you feel better fast.
  8. If you are already down to 174, you are doing pretty good!
  9. That's awesome, 52 lbs AND onederland SWEET! You are doing great, keep it up.
  10. I just saw the video.... LOVED it! Thanks for all the great info. You made a very good point about how easy it is to get discouraged with month 2, after month 1 was so great. I think that is one of the things nobody prepares you for. But, as you said, still losing more than without the surgery. Gratz on 50 lbs. very nice. I look forward to next month's update! Best of luck to you.
  11. I am looking forward to: - Getting healthy and feeling good - Enjoying quality time with my family - Giving up granny panties forever - Comfortably being "the one on top" :thumbup1: - Getting whistled at by a man who means it - Taking belly dancing lessons - Shopping anywhere I want
  12. Anesthesia and pain meds are notorious for causing constipation, so you should really ask your dr what he recommends if you already have issues.
  13. YAY, it's finally here. I am really happy for you and you will be in my prayers. Best of luck for a speedy recovery and safe trip home.
  14. Halfway!!! Angie that is so freakin cool. Gratz. You are so rockin your sleeve.
  15. It is normal due to swelling. Right now the most important thing you can do, is sip water. The protein is important but the first week or so, nothing is more important than getting in your water. As the swelling goes down, this will get easier. Just sip, sip, sip. It gets easier.
  16. I'm glad you found out what was causing the problems for you. But, I am really glad that you are learning how to deal with it. Most people don't take anxiety seriously enough and that's when it can cause you some grief. Best of luck on moving forward. thanks for posting this, I'm sure many will find it to be an eye opener.
  17. I agree. When it comes to help, just remember you will have weight restrictions on what you can lift, so keep that in mind when it comes to your little ones.
  18. 32 lbs in 4 weeks is very nice indeed. Gratz, keep up the good work.
  19. I agree! They can take in the 14.
  20. 50 lbs is awesome. Congrats, that is a huge deal. Just keep in mind that you did this for you, so don't let them get to you. I know that is easier said than done, but...
  21. Anesthesia has a long term effect on you. Not to mention all the other stuff they pumped in you while you were in the hospital. Feeling cloudy is perfectly normal. Just take things easy and trust yourself when it comes to setting a pace.
  22. I made a post last week about having my gallbladder removed. I had the surgery Friday afternoon. A few people asked me to post when I could to let them know I was ok. For those who were so kind, thank you.
  23. The 1st week after my surgery, I could drink like that as well. I don't know why but it didn't last. I can't drink like that now. I too have a hard time with room temp drinks. They just don't go down well at all. I had to start using insulated containers for my drinks. You should be ok as long as you aren't gulping things down. If you don't feel discomfort, I wouldn't worry about it at this point. You have to keep in mind that liquid goes right through your sleeve. You can tell once you are on solids more accurately how much your tummy can hold.
  24. That is wonderful. I am so happy for you.
  25. 54 lbs is really great! I remember you struggling in the beginning, but you worked through it. You are just a week ahead of me and reading your posts, helped me get through my tough first few weeks. Gratz and good luck as you continue to progress on your journey.
