  1. OMG! VKGIRL!! yikes! Yeah we were told at orientation that it could take up to a year. That is PURE madness though where you are at! AND your an employee?? It's like cut the employee some slack!! lol. It is totally weird too cause ALL of our programs are way different to. You would think with a big corporation like kaiser it would be much more uniform. Ash and I were just talking about the food post-op alone. She is lucky!!! Lol. They let her eat wayyyyy faster then me and I am on liquids forever! I wanna switch now to that manual now I had my surgery. ha ha. But I got my FIRST apointment in APRIL and everything done in a month. Then my surgery was a month out so total time: 2 month with waiting for surgery and all classes. pretty good!
  2. Hi everyone. I am three days post op and cant seem to get anything down! The littlest sips I take its burps, hiccups, and this weird gurgle. It feels like I have the worst crushing pain in my stomach or chest and I feel horrible! Is this normal? I cant stop gurgling and burping! :001_rolleyes: thanks-chrissy

  5. WHAT???????? I NEVER had a pre-op liquid diet! I know Kaiser Richmond and Kaiser Freemont do differ a bit. Ashley my SLEEVE bff just was sleeved and she is 3 weeks out. I am 5 days out! To be honest- I am surprised on how great I feel! I thought it was gonna be A LOT worse. Make sure you WALK WALK WALK as soon as they let you! When I was put into my room I basically FORCED them to pull out the cathader (spelling) so I could walk! ASHLEY saved me after I was released. lol. We know all the tricks now and how you should feel! After you get home? you will Feel like SHIT!!!! I felt like a mac truck had hit me (i had a 2 hour ride home) and the next day all the gas was HELL. You gurggle and burp like crazy but now I am doing GREAT! WALKING saved me. They said walk every 4 hours? I walked every hour or 2. I MADE myself. Its the best advice I can give. CONGRATS GUYS!!!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for all your help! Yes I am on 20MG omeprazole. lol! Sorry I am totally blond. ha ha. Yeah I take that twice a day. I am having a little easier time today, but I think maybe last night I might have ate my applesauce to quick? I am using a syringe for drinking! lol. I know it sounds silly but it is FORCING me to take baby baby sips. I am glad this is normal and it gets better! I still am not able to take a big burp. It kinda just comes on its own which sucks. It is not a TRUE burp which i constantly feel like I need so bad. I am just totally happy knowing this does go away!! thanks so much.

    Sleeve vs. Band please help!

With "Kaiser" there are certain steps in the process. First you go to this stupid meeting (which it is totally pointless) Then you email or call your pcp and ask for a referral. Lucky me and I was "ahead of my game" and told my pcp that I already took the class and she sent the referral!! lol. I DID take the class but just called her the day before I took it. I got ahead of about 60-70 people because I did this!! lol....I know how to work kaiser...anyways. Next is orientation. Mine is in 2 weeks! (cause I was sneaky and beat the others out!)you can meet with the surgeon there, and they tell you we will give you the surgery if you loose this much weight. (it differs to everyone) my friend had to loose about 30 pounds. THEN you have a psycological appointment and then given your surgery date. It will take me a few months to get it, and dependent on ME to loose the weight. I have NEVER EVER been so motivated!! I will for sure be on here and now I have new sleevster to talk me along the way! (you) :001_rolleyes: I am glad you shared your story with me! Yes I am actually double covered so EVERYTHING is free not even meds or co-pays. My hubby and I work for law enforcement and get great benni's!! I am lucky.

    Sleeve vs. Band please help!

Yes, like I said I felt like a "banded" today. I went to a support group today with my friend and we walked and had lunch. To hear the "getting stuck" issues, the not getting a fill, people couldn't eat certain things-It seemed like a nightmare! 2 of the ladies said they wouldn't have done the sleeve and they were happy with the band, the rest of the ladies said GET THE BAND! After all I have read it sounds like this is the right choice for me!!!

    Sleeve vs. Band please help!

YES! I live in Sacramento, Ca and I will be having the surgery in Richmond, California. I have Kaiser insurance and everything is covered. I had my gall bladder removed already it shouldn't be a problem with the heartburn especially if I loose the weight. Today when I went to the lunch with the "bandded" lol It FREAKED me out the gurgling, talking about fills, ect...I was like NO WAY!! lol. I am happy I found you! Did you have Laproscopic surgery? And where did they go in? I have a 8x11 peice of metal mesh from a hernia below my belly button. I am scared they wont do it, but if it's higher I am safe!

    Sleeve vs. Band please help!

Thank you so much! I actually have a GREAT friend who is banded-went to her support group today. I would say out of 10people-8 of them wished they were sleeved. I don't want things getting stuck, too many restrictions, or having to get fills! Let me tell you if something were to go wrong with "something" I am one of those who has that luck!! lol...I would be the one to get erosion ect. I really appreciate your input. It seems like MANY banders switch to getting the sleeve too. Thanks so much! I have been doing a lot of research, and it also seems just as safe. I still can't find too much on anyone ever dying because of the surgery yet. How is the heartburn issue?
