  1. I hope you come back and let us know how you are doing. I'm sorry this is happening and I hope soon they can fix it!!
  2. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Good job on the research. Do you think an ENT could help?
  3. Congratulations!! I think if you view this as a journey you are on you will find that little by little you will become more comfortable with your body. It is going to be life changing. I felt the same way you did...like it was such an extreme thing to do. but now I can't get over how extreme the changes are in my life!! I am truly happy for you and what is going to be coming your way!
  4. Congratulations!!! Things do slow down a bit as time goes on. that has been the case for me at 9 months out. However I've heard this is true for all people losing weight across the board and not just weight loss surgery individuals. your body is always searching for balance. It likes maintaining one weight more than losing. Sometimes you have to shake things up. Do you exercise? If not, I would start with that. I think you will find that by adding exercise or if you are already exercising switching up your workouts...you will see the scale moving . Don't worry too much about stretching. That intsills lots of fear I think at least for me. You will be able to eat a bit more than you did orginally. Nothing you are doing sounds wrong to me.
  5. Sorry for what you're dealing with. I hope it gets better soon
  6. A lot of it could depend on what you're getting in your body nutritionally. Are you able to take all your vitamins and how much are you eating/drinking. I think in the beginning it is a lot tougher b/c you can't get much in and that makes you feel very tired and sluggish.
  7. I started at week 2. I drank the Atkins chocolate and caramel cafe shakes. I still drink them actually. It's true that it is very hard to get all the protein in at first. In fact I did not even come close at first but I did start drinking these in week 2.
  8. I don't have any advice but just wanted to say good luck!!! I hope it all works out in your favor!
  9. that is awesome!! It is going to keep going down so believe it!!!
  10. I had my surgery 9 months ago and I've lost 141 pounds so far. It has completely changed my life. It was by far the best decision I ever made. I completely understand about your fears and worries. I felt that way too. But I am sure you will find that it is a wonderful thing you've done and you will be so happy!!
  11. That's normal and how it is in the beginning. Expect that to be the case at first. As time goes on it will become easier but don't push the process. It takes time. Do what you can but don't worry if you can't get all the protein in at first. I couldn't. But just keep sipping and remember you did something positive. trust the process!
  12. I had the same exact issues. I totally understand. I struggled a lot in the first few months due to head hunger. But it gets easier as the grehlin hunger hormone gets out of your system. And as your body doesn't let you overeat anymore it becomes less of a draw and you do lose interest more and more. I never thought that it was possible for that to happen to me of all people but it does work!
  13. Your story feels so familiar to me. I really can relate especially to how the lightbulb went off when you heard about the sleeve. This is totally my experience. I felt too uncomfortable with the bypass to do it I was approved once for it about 6 years ago and chickened out. When I heard about the sleeve I knew that it was for me and I can tell you at 9 months post up it was BY FAR the best decision I have ever made in my life. It has completely turned my life around. I am so happy for you!

  15. I tough it out. It goes down eventually. That is just my personal experience but I feel ya'!!!
  16. Sugar free popsicles? I ate pletny of those at that stage!!! Hang in there. Remember it takes awhile for that grehlin to get out of your system but it will and you will feel less hungry as time goes on.
  17. That is sooo soo exciting!!!
  18. I love this!! I totally love it. How awesome to go shopping in your own house with no money!! And so exciting. thanks for posting this. It really made me smile.
  19. I don't know the answer but I would call the doctor. Sorry you are dealing with this only 3 days post op. I hope you feel better soon!
  20. This is wonderful news. I am so glad to hear this. SOOOO glad. Thank you for sharing!
  21. I know one thing--you are not alone! So many here have posted about this and I know you will find a lot of people who can relate. So hang in there. It is tough to navigate through the family issues. And you will always have the food pusher lol. But keep coming here and getting support. I know you can do it!!!
  22. You're doing great! that's awesome. It's probably good she shot the idea down . The better recovery time you have can only help. Good luck with it all!
