  1. Hi Carla, I would have been so angry too! That is the rudest thing I have heard about a dr. saying. He does not sound like a very good dr. to me. The pain for me was about a 4 the first 24 hours, with 1 hour of maybe an 8 for gas pains. After 24 hours it was a 1-2, mostly soreness.

  2. I decided to tell everyone, much easier for me. So far all of my friends have been supportive. The only mean things being said to me are from my mom and my oldest daughter has made a few comments. My whole family is thin so I thought that they would be more supportive. My favorite one so far is when my mom made the comment last week that I should have been on my post diet all along and why could'nt have done this without surgery. My only comeback was I guess you raised a failure. Not funny or snappy but it mader her stop and hopefully think before she makes anymore comments.

  3. Thanks everyone for your quick responces! I do not have a gallbladder anymore, had it removed years ago. I have tried mixing the Unjury unflavored Protein with applesauce and I still got sick. It is so strang because I still like the taste of it. The only food that I can tolerate is applesauce, cottage cheese and eggs. I would ask about moving to solids but I don't think I am ready for them yet. I am hoping by Friday that I might be. I am hoping that this whole thing will pass. I tried milk earlier and it did not make me sick but I have discovered that I do not like the taste of it anymore. (weird) I so appreciate you all taking the time to answer, this is such a nice group of people on here.

  4. I have been on Protein Shakes since 1 week post-op and have had no problems with them. I am now 3 1/2 weeks out and can not drink them anymore. It started about a week ago, everytime I would drink one I would feel sick for an hour or so. Now everytime I try and drink one I throw-up. I have tried different kinds and at different temps. but nothing helps. Has anyone else had this happen? Does it go away? This is my main source of Protein because I am still at the mushie stage.

  5. I had the same worries but I am loosing pretty quickly. I am only a little over 3 weeks but so far so good. I had read on here that the sleeve could maybe reverse it but my Dr. told that it would not, I will always have it. Like you, I gained weight when I started my medicine and had almost given up hope before I discovered this surgery. It does work. Good Luck!

  6. I am so glad you are feeling better! You had such a hard time after surgery I would hate for you to have to go through that again. We all felt so bad for you at the hospital. Don't feel bad about accidently skipping a stage, I did it too with cottage cheese and the same thing happened. I thought I was the only one to make that mistake. I found that I can't tolerate cream Soups at all but thanks to reading this board I have found other things. Great job on the weight loss!

  7. Hi, I just did this 11 days ago. I had a total of eight hours in air and 13 hours all together with layovers. I was worried also but I had no problems at all and I did not take anything. I was a little tired but I always am when I travel. You should be fine. Congrats. on your surgery!

  8. YAY, on the surgery date! I am so happy for you. I am doing well, today is the first day of the "mushies". I had a 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. I have heard that is supposed to fill you up but it did not me. I have been so darn hungry for a week. I have tried swirching antacids but no luck. I guess that is part of the adjustment. Some never get hungry again and I am wishing that for you. Don't worry about the surgery, the pain is not that bad. I think I might have even emailed you the day of my surgery. Please keep us posted. The weight DOES just seem to melt off so far. WoooHoooo

  9. Hi Grace,

I just got back last night from Mexicalli and I am so glad that I brought a heating pad! I did forget my pj's but did not need them. I went by myself also, flew from NH and the flying was not that bad. I shopped at Vitaman world before I left and stocked up on Cytomax Protein pre-made drinks for when I got home. They taste good(except tropical) and have 40g of protein. So for me it was slippers and a heating pad. Good Luck! They are such wonderful people there. Oh, don't eat at the Cafeteria at the hotel, eat at the rest. right beside the lobby ;-)

  10. I am so happy to read this today. I leave tomm. and have my surgery on Friday with Dr.Aceves. I have never heard anything negative about him or his staff. I know the price this month is $8750.00 for the sleeve surgery. This is such a wonderful place to come for imformation and everyone who posts on here seem so nice and helpfull!
