  1. Hi everyone! I am down 46 pounds, feeling great and getting over my foot injury. Ready for doc to give the ok on my foot so I can exercise. Having trouble getting all of my protien in bc the smell/taste make me want to hurl. I saw my reflection the other day and didn't recognize myself. And I've been called skinny! Yay March sleevers!!

  2. Pnw, I will not offer you advice because each situation like yours is unique and private. My husband is the child of an alcoholic father and at 40 years old he prays each day for his dad to get treatment, but the likelihood of that happening is very small.Your whole family took a huge step towards healing today and from the bottom of my heart I wish you all the best. I hope for his sake and y'alls kids sake that he will recover. God bless.

  3. My weight loss has increased in the past couple of weeks, however I was in a stall about a month ago. I was sleeved on 3/23, beginning weight 258, currently 218. Yay! I just tore a ligament in my foot (the day after I was released to exercise:( ) and have been on crutches for about 1 1/2 weeks. Kinda worried how this might affect my weight loss while it heals. But honestly these damn crutches are the biggest work out I've had in a while.

  4. I confess that I bought some delicious cupcakes for my daughters college signing ceremony. Then ate one ( it took a couple of days). Then I went back to order her graduation cake and my hubbys 40th birthday cake...and bought another cupcake. Most of it is still in my fridge. But it is sooo good! Funny, bc I've never been a sweets person!

  5. Ok. I am addicted to Pork rinds. I crave them over anything...funny thing is I never liked them before my surgery..in fact the smell made me want to barf ! I have always been a carb queen. Now i want pork rinds, chicken, lunch meat and cheese! I still like bread, etc just don't crave it anymore. But the pork rinds are my current fave!

  6. I started my pre-op diet and never turned back. However, the weeks before that I ate whatever, whenever. food was my everything. I used to live to eat, now I eat to live. I do not deprive myself of anything. If I want something sweet, I have a bite or two same with all my other faves! I have never taken the position that I'll never get to have those things again, because if I did I would be setting myself up for failure. I know what my limits are, I listen to my very tiny tummy and stop. In the past my head would interfere, telling me to get more! But my stomach is in charge now! You will do fine. As you heal, find what works for you. I am 7 weeks post op and down 34 pounds. Best of luck!

  7. Welcome! I am a native Garlandite, but have lived in the Forney/Sunnyvale area for 19 years. My oldest daughter considered TSU, but I think it was a tad to close to the ever watchful eyesof her aunt in Austin :biggrin0: ! I was sleeved on 3/23 and feel like I've done quite well. I have lost about 33 lbs with about 50 more to go. I am encouraged everyday, although I struggle to get all my protien in. ( I detest...no...hate protien shakes) :). You'll have to find what works for you. I wish you all of the best! I went to Dr. Nicholsons seminar and liked him a lot! But I chose another local doc, I too am self pay. Just remember after your surgery..walk, walk walk!

  8. I just wanted go share what a wonderful expierence this has been for me! I'm sure my husband, who is very supportive would like for me to talk about something other than how little I can I eat! But this gas truly been a blessing, in so many ways. First I have lost 32 pounds since my surgery on march 23. Second I haven't thrown up, felt nauseated or poorly in general. I have been able to transition into regular foods with no problems.. I had lettuce yesterday and it went down just like it used to! And lastly I have been a carb queen for my entire adult life. Now I crave chicken, cheese, lunch meat, cottage cheese, etc. Before I could have done with out meat period. Now my carb cravings have subsided considerably. I eat healthy, but don't deprive myself of anything. If I want a nacho, I eat a nacho. If i want something sweet, I eat a bite. I was worried about adjusting to my new stomach, but it has been a breeze and I want folks to know it can happen that way! I was anxious to start my exercise regimin, but Injured my heel breaking up a fight at work. So now I'm on crutches....still losing tho! Thank all of you gor your support, this forum helped me choose this surgery and it has literally changed my life for the better!

Has anyone had changes in their foods? Like mine with the carbs? I'm interested to see how often that occurs!

  9. Tiffy! That is ingenius! Yummy, like cheese chips..can't wait to try them tomorrow! Lil ole me, don't beat yourself up. I am

a crunchy kind of food girl.. I went crazy during my liquid phase.. I would chew a triscuit, spit it out and then rinse my mouth out. Yes, it's gross and I'm embarassed (sort of) but it worked for me bc it satisfied my need to chew and crunch but I did not swallow or damage my little pouch. Plus I only did it in the privacy of my own home! Good luck!
