    A little concerned

Thanks so much... As of tomorrow I'll have only two days left til surgery! I've been saying all along that people all over this world are starving...I'm not. I can do this. It amazes me now how much food is around us....everywhere!!!
  2. I'm right there with you wwqueen! As of tomorrow I will have only two days til surgery. I have "cheated" a couple of times, today with a low fat cheese stick..I'm so hungry:( surely our "little" cheats won't effect our surgeries! This is the hardest thing i've done. Even things that don't typically look or sound good to me, now look very appealing! We can do this!
  3. Hang in there! You are two days behind me...WE can get through this. We WILL get through this. You might consider listening/reading to The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne...it really changed my life. This is a good decision for me and my future..my husband, children, extended family and future (much) grandchilren. I buried my Dad at 46 years of age and I will do everything in my power to stay around for my kiddos. Keep your chin up!

    March 25th?

3 1/2 days til my surgery! I am soo excited. I have cheated a couple of times on my liquid diet, a piece of cheese, 2 bites of refried beans and some broth from Chili's Chicken Ench. Soup. I feel good though, just ready for TUESDAY! :lol0:

    March 25th?

On the 23rd! I'm like a kid at Christmas!
  8. This time next week I will be sleeved. I am so excited that this liquid diet is not phasing me a bit. I am not much of a "sweets eater" so the broth is a nice treat. Honestly there have been a couple of times that I came close to cheating..but haven't done it yet! The daytime is not hard at all, but around 6:00pm I get a little cranky and tired. Then, before you know it I feel like my old self again! I haven't had a diet coke in 5 days, don't miss them either, which is strange since I drank at least 3 Rt.44's from Sonic per day. Now I get water and add crystal light. I feel great and know this is the best thing for me! Can't wait til March 23!
  9. I am on day two of my liquid diet. Not as horrible as one may think. I have had lots of broth, jello and crystal light. I am at work tonight and everyone is eating all my favorites, but oddly enough I could care less. This time next week I will be sleeved and on my way to a healthy life. You can do this, focus on your end result. BTW, my last meal was obscene...yummy mexican food, it was worth it. Good luck and just think about life after this!
  10. Well, the day has come..the one I always promised myself I would start after eating a huge meal. It is day one of my clear liquid diet. Honestly, it wasn't as horrible as I expected. I was out of town on business, so that made things a little more difficult. I winged it with an all fruit smoothies, crystal light, carnation instant breakfast, and broth. Kind of ashamed to admit, but I chewed noodles and spat them out...ewww so gross, but soooo good mild headache but tolerable. 6 days til Dr. Jay sleeves me! I can do this!! I want to eat one trisciut, but just can't bring myself to do it! I'll keep y'all posted on the great triscuit debate...
  11. Has anyone used bene-protien? I have used the bene-fiber and liked it..wondering if it is the same concept...no flavor or texture changes.
  12. My dear sweet father died at 46 years old. He was overweight, smoked like a frieght train, had high blood pressure, stress out the wah-zoo and loved to eat. He was a good man and I miss him so very much. Fast forward 20 years later, his baby daugther, now 37 years old is overweight, has high blood pressure, stress out the wah-zoo and LOVES to eat. More than anything, I dont want my children to miss me like I miss my Dad. THAT is my reason for WLS. As a child and teen, I was grossly skinny, could eat whatever I wanted. It was a good life! I was called "skinny minny", "string bean" and later as a teen by other girls "bitch" :blushing:. I was athletic and pretty darn cute. But interestingly enough, very self conscious of my weight. Because I am right at 6' tall, I thought because I weighed 125- 130 pounds, I was fat...because all of my short friends weighed 100 pounds. Then I had my first child at 19...its like my metabolism slammed on the brakes and stored EVERYTHING I ate. Like most people, I have done all of the diets. Most successful at Weight Watchers, it truly is a great program. However, I consider myself an emotional eater..I eat when I'm happy, sad, glad, mad..you name the mood, I eat the food! But this is a life I no longer want. I am 37 years old and feel like I'm in the body of a really old person..my feet, knees, hips (this is recent), back ...they all hurt. I can't sleep, have NO energy and am missing out on life. I have a very supportive husband of almost 20 years and two of the greatest kids. My grandmother (she is 92, drives, exercises and has a very full social calendar) is the best..she is my father's mother and does not want me to have the same fate as her beloved son. My insurance does not cover WLS...crazy, I know. But I am fortunate enough to be in a position to pay for the surgery. After reading several posts, I am very thankful not be at the mercy of an insurance company. My wish is the surgery makes my life better, to do the things I wish my father could have done with my children. He was awesome and would have been the best grandfather. I will make him proud. :001_tongue: Sorry for the ramblings, did not intend to take up so much space. This is more emotional than I ever dreamed! Besides, I'm from Texas..we like to talk. Wish me luck!
  13. I am very excited to start a diet...which is new for me! My only worry is not having a Route 44 Diet Coke in my hand every waking hour of the day. I am scheduled for surgery on 3/23 with Dr. Jay in Dallas...any advice?:001_tongue:
