  1. I am so very glad to read this thread....I was thinking I was all alone and I would be the one for whom the sleeve did not work. I do all the right things....exerscise, eat about 800 good calories a day, do my Vitamins, etc.....everything everyone talks about on the board. I'm still bummed, but quite encouraged by everyone's comments. I can't bring myself to put away the scales yet, but I may make my DH hide them for me!

  2. I, too, was extremely fatigued at 8 weeks and went to my GP. We reviewed what I was eating and she told me I wasn't getting enough calories (only like 500/day). I upped my calories with more Protein and am feeling much better. Just my experience. Is anyone taking Viactiv Vitamin chews? I have no problems with them at all. Can we take 2 protonix/day? Don't need it for acid, but the hunger issue intrigues me. Thoughts?

  3. I am in the same situation.....each 1/2 pound comes between a week of waiting for it. I try to focus on what the others are saying. You can't eat this little food and not lose weight. Also, I went to my GP for extreme fatigue. she told me that I was not eating enough...less than 500 cals a day. The body switches to that "starvation mode". She urged me to try for at least 800 nutrious calories for the fatigue and sure enough I started to drop a bit. Slowly, but inching along. Hang in there.

  4. Has anyone ever heard of the "deep breath" rule of feeling full? As you are eating, there will be some point at which you take a deep, comfortable breath and sort of sigh as it's released. That is your body telling you that you have reached the full point. I've been watching for that signal since being sleeved, and had good luck with not over eating.

  5. I hear you all! I was addicted to regular Coke and my daily routine was a large coke each morning from Sonic (the ice gives it something special!). Anyway, I did not give it up prior to surgery since I knew I would afterwards. The headaches those first few days after surgery were miserable. However, now that I am 14 days out, I have been surprised to find that nothing sweet appeals too me. Sweet tea (I'm a Southern girl, afterall) is too syrupy. Even tried Muscle Milk for the Protein and YUCK...way too sweet. I say all this to say, my desire for sweet coke has altered dramatically. I miss the fizz, but not the taste! Progress for me!

  6. Hi all...could someone answer a question for me? I am 5 days post-op with the sleeve. I feel like I have done well. I am concerned though that with each sip I take I get a pain like the Fluid was too much. It passes quickly as the Fluid moves through. If I take a mouth-wet kind of sip, I have no problems. Could this be from swelling and will improve as I heal? Or, should I call my doctor?

    Thanks kindly.
