  1. We are all different. I'm not at the panic attack phase...but when reality sets in that the 29th (my op day) I get a bit scared. I wonder if I'm doing the right thing, but quickly remember how despondent I feel after every failed diet. How miserable I am when I can't partake in any social occasions and how unhealthy I feel all the time. Not to mention how this weight exacerbates my conditions. I guess more than anything else..."death"...I don't want to leave those I love so much. Deep....lol Good luck with your journey to the "losers bench"... Xx
  2. Personally I believe that chewing gum promotes hunger...but what were the reasons you were told that gum is out? X
  3. Thank you, and yes I will let you know how it goes. You have done really well and you look good in that photo...well done you. Xxx
  4. I'm having my surgery in Texas on the 29th January... Good luck all Xx
  5. No, not going to Mexico but just wanted to wish you luck. I'm having my surgery on the 29th January. All the best Xx
  6. I am being bypassed 29th January. I'm scared, I'm anxious, I'm excited, I'm worried, I'm eager to get it over with, I'm keen, I'm optimistic, I'm looking forward to better health, I'm impatient to buy gorgeous clothes again, I'm long in to get back to living a more active and involved life. On a serious note...I do worry about recovery, the post op pain, getting the Protein in and getting the post op diet right and I don't want to lose my hair. I'm sure most people have or had the same feelings. Wish me luck. Xx
  7. Just wanted to say hi...good luck too. I will have open also. X
  8. Hi Well I guess we've all lost tons of weight only to put it all back plus some, so it's understandable that what comes with that is fear (or terror) of gaining it all back plus some. Most people are very well intentioned when they voice their concerns regarding weight loss surgery and quite often it might feel that they aren't supporting your decision now, but will support you post op. I am getting my date today, but I believe that it's going to be I two weeks also. We can watch each other's progress. All the very best X
  9. I swear by psyllium husks (ispagula) but not sure if you can take this post op... Try asking the team who did your op. Hope you find an answer soon X
  10. Hey moderators....I think we are being spammed...can you delete these spam posts please?
  11. I found his and thought it interesting: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23204152 I love love love coffee. It it did cause my heart burn and reflux to be worse. I'm on the decaf now and after reading that study above...I'm ok with that. X
  12. I was reading the plication a little while ago whilst researching what I could do regarding my failed sleeve. I read and was told that it is great for a sleeve revision. I look forward to reading your continued success. Well done
  13. Wow Stacy that was a nightmare. So you have no remaining stomach apart from the pouch? I think that 12lbs is pretty good really...you are still healing, swollen and probably retaining Water due to anesthesia. Wishing you a speedy recovery. X
  14. It's an electrical cord that plugs in the electrical socket that's has a plug at the end. It allows you to lengthen your power cords. It's an electrical cord that plugs in the electrical socket that's has a plug at the end. It allows you to lengthen your power cords. Hahaha lol yes of course. Back2barb had said that the best things She took with her were front snap sports bras and an extension cord. I assumed that it was a bra with an extension cord...so funny...I guess I should read properly. Xx
  15. What a wonderful story!...well done to you and your team. X
  16. I'm hoping to be revised from the sleeve to a bypass. I've had severe reflux; I had it prior to surgery so it was a given really that it was going to get worse. But also for me was the lack of restriction with my sleeve and regain of weight. Hope you get back on the road to recovery quickly. X
  17. What is an extension cord? Or should I ask, an extension cord to what? Xx
  18. My sister and I laughed our heads off at the panties. My gown was 3x too big but those panties weren't even close commando for me, too! When I was having my first baby 30 some years ago my mother went and got me those huge paper drawers....I laughed my head off too. X
  19. What are paper panties? Paper panties are sometimes used to protect someone's modesty during surgery. Man made fibers are normally not allowed in theater I believe. Paper or cotton are sometimes allowed. I know if I'm allowed to wear my underwear, I most certainly will...lol Years ago, we were encouraged to take paper panties in the hospital when we had babies....the disposability quality is great, especially when you have to change as often as is possible during these times.
  20. I do wish Stevia in its pure form were used more widely.
  21. I think sodas/pops can stretch the pouch over time because if the expansion of the gas. I think because after all WLS we are prone to reflux, gastritis so coffee being a contributing factor is the reason is it limited or stopped altogether. I think, like someone else said, the artificial sweeteners is own surgeons personal objection....however there are studies to suggest that aspartame is bad for us and promotes false hunger. I bought various flavored Tourani syrups and use them to flavor my decaffeinated coffees or use them in my Protein shakes/pastes. I will probably give them up after the surgery. Good luck x
  22. Sounds delicious, but what is it called?...shall we call Florida Girls Sunshine Shrimp?
