  1. My sister and I laughed our heads off at the panties. My gown was 3x too big but those panties weren't even close commando for me, too! When I was having my first baby 30 some years ago my mother went and got me those huge paper drawers....I laughed my head off too. X
  2. What are paper panties? Paper panties are sometimes used to protect someone's modesty during surgery. Man made fibers are normally not allowed in theater I believe. Paper or cotton are sometimes allowed. I know if I'm allowed to wear my underwear, I most certainly will...lol Years ago, we were encouraged to take paper panties in the hospital when we had babies....the disposability quality is great, especially when you have to change as often as is possible during these times.
  3. I do wish Stevia in its pure form were used more widely.
  4. I think sodas/pops can stretch the pouch over time because if the expansion of the gas. I think because after all WLS we are prone to reflux, gastritis so coffee being a contributing factor is the reason is it limited or stopped altogether. I think, like someone else said, the artificial sweeteners is own surgeons personal objection....however there are studies to suggest that aspartame is bad for us and promotes false hunger. I bought various flavored Tourani syrups and use them to flavor my decaffeinated coffees or use them in my Protein shakes/pastes. I will probably give them up after the surgery. Good luck x

What is a pose procedure? X
  7. I had an operation before in the UK so just wanted to compare and prepare. I was given the blood thinning injections every day and was given 2 weeks supply to take home with me along with various pain meds. The boots I had to wear whilst in hospital which was 3 nights...but in an effort together them off to go to the toilet I ripped one of them. They were great...I loved them. I bought paper panties but were given these mesh type ones to wear...not nice and very awkward to put on. I was only allowed sips of Water on the first day but on the second day I was given a bullion style broth. They gave me a cup of tea which I though was odd but although I couldn't finish it, it was nice.
  8. Should you take paper panties or normal ones?

Good luck for Monday...woo hoo. I use Syntrax nectar and get them from Amazon. If I'm not using them as a shake, I make them very thick and eat them like a moose. X

  13. If it's a liquid diet, the definitely the protein shakes or powders...I have Syntrax Nectar which I bought from Amazon.
  14. Just wondered if anyone can help me with this. I would like to know if it is possible to change your surgeon once you get approval from your insurance company? Would you have start completely from scratch, like meeting the BMI requirements. Or will the start weight/BMI that my PCM and current surgeon have on record count? I have lost weight as per my current surgeons request that puts me a little under the criteria for bypass. There are a few things that I'm not happy with right now...in fact I'm a bit scared. All opinions welcome Xxx

    Anyone have an open RNY?

I would like to know this also. I was worried to death about this but did get my mind put at rest about it. I believe it might be a little longer for recuperation....a little extra care with the incision...and if you work a bit more time off is required. All the best Xx
