  1. Please don't quote me on this but my doc said to wait until after the surgery. They had me stop all of that a week before my procedure. Of course every doc & patient is different. I would call your surgeon if I were you. Good Luck!!

My doctor told me I could have it 6 weeks after surgery. He said I could have decaf right now but it's not as good. Lol...

I responded to your PM. Look on there. I gave you the forum name. Check it out!!
  6. Good luck to both of you!! I had very little pain. Most of it was gas but when I walked it seems to help out a lot. I also had a little gas in my back area so I used a heating pad and that made a huge difference. I had my surgery on a Thursday and was back at the office on Monday. I only worked from 8:00am-2:00pm but on Tuesday I was back to normal. You both will be in my thoughts and prayers. I can't wait to see you on the 'loser bench'.

    Docs in Dallas Area?

I just thought Dr. Jay was awesome!! Best of luck to you. He'll do you well.
  8. This might be a stupid question but is this bad?
  9. I have had really, really, really bad dry mouth for the last week. I had my surgery on Jan. 14th but I can't take this dry mouth any longer. It doesn't matter how much I drink, it doesn't help. I told my doctor about this & he says to drink more....well it's not helping. Anyone else go through this or is it just me?? I'm going crazy!!
  10. This was my main question before having the surgery. My doctor told me that after I have reached my goal weight, I should wait at least 3 months after that just to make sure all is well & then I can try. He said about 18 months after surgery. He said this is an awesome surgery to have & still be able to allow your baby enough nutrients it needs. The way I looked at it is, it's better to be at a good weight when having a baby then overweight were it might jeopardize your baby. Good luck to you!!

    Protein Ideas......

I went to that page & ordered all different kinds of sample packs.
  12. Things are going well? How are things with you? I started full liquids last Thursday. My favorite thing so far is potatoe soup w/ extra cheese. Nothing exciting. I just made me a smoothie today. Yum!!

Staples went good. They only took out every other one. I go back on Thursday for another follow up.

    Where do you get Chike?
  14. Yes, it seems to help while I eat sugar free popsicles but only when I eat them. Once I'm done it's back but I love me some popsicles. Tiff, I'm going to have to try the Gatorade. I didn't see the ones with Splenda. When my husband & I went shopping for my full liquids all I could find is the real Gatorade which was FULL of sugars. I'll have to look around. Thanks girls!
  15. Thanks guys for all the help!! I have been constantly sipping.....sip, sip, sip & it seems to be going okay but not better by any means right now. I'm keeping positive & hoping it will get better soon. I go back for a follow up again on Wednesday & will talk with the doctor about my meds. Thanks again ladies....I can always count on ya'll to answer my questions.
  16. I know I'm not getting exactly enough water BUT I know I'm getting enough to keep my hydrated. I'm only a week out. I suck on sugar free candy all day but as soon as I get rid of it my mouth is back to being dry. It drives me insane. Especially when I'm talking to someone....it's embarrassing!!

    Tell me the truth.

I had to do a week liquid diet. When I went in for my surgery, my nurse showed me a before & after pic of my stomach & I could see a ring in the background. I asked what it was & she said if your liver does not fit around that ring when they try to put it on, they sew you back up & tell you when you can follow directions you can come back. The CRAZY thing is they still charge you for the procedure..... Good thing I stuck with it.....Don't cheat!! It's not worth it!! You can have some cheese when you're all better.

I used Dr. Jayaseelan and loved him!!
  20. I used Dr. Jayaseelan & LOVED him so much. He was awesome. The facility at TLC was the best. We could not have had better service with them. I'm glad I choose them. My mom stayed the night with me in the hospital and they treated her like a queen. The nurses fed her dinner that they had brought from their house and got her Diet Cokes because she forgot the ones she had at the hotel. I can't brag enough on them. Dr. Jay is so laid back. He usually likes to see you a week before your surgery but he let me see him on Wednesday and have my surgery Thursday. He's awesome!! Check him out!! Good luck & let me know what you decide.
  21. Creatinglee: I had my surgery on Thursday, Jan 14th and was back to work on Monday. I had to leave 2 hours early because I was exhausted but today is Tuesday & I felt fantastic...worked all day. Just remember to walk & sip when you can but you can do it!!
  22. Oh Mini-Me, I'm super excited for you too!! I am sending my prayers. Good luck & keep us posted!!
  23. I had the choice to use Dr. Nick through TLC Edge also. I've heard he's a wonderful doctor. I choose Dr. Jay because he was known as one of the top bariatric surgeons in Dallas. It's very important that you take your time & research EVERYTHING. I lurked around this forum forever before making this life changing decision. You can find out a lot of information on here through everyone. They are really informative and awesome people. Good luck on your decision and do what's right for you!

    scared,excited

I was sleeved on Jan. 14th and yes you are SO right. There are so many emotions that will go through you until you get on the operating table but it will be worth it!! Hang in there girl. We're all rootin' for ya.
  25. First off, CONGRATS!! This is exciting. I was sleeved on Jan. 14th & feel great. A little exhausted here & there but doing wonderful. The day of my surgery I woke up @ 4:00am, sat & cried in the bathroom by myself, said a couple of prayers & then that was it. I knew I was doing the right thing. I am so glad that I didn't back out of this. I can already tell the awesome feeling in my step & my husband is already telling me how wonderful I'm looking. (I know, he's only being supporative but it makes me feel better.) Hang in there girl!! It's going to go awesome & you're going to LOVE it. I'm already saying a prayer for you. I'm excited for you & can't wait to hear from you after you're up & running. Keep us posted!!
