  1. I know what you mean about people treating you differently. I have had guys flirt w/ me again. I am happily married, but that is still very nice. One of my friends husbands saw me at the high school fball game and told her how hot I looked. I am having a little set back this week, halloween and all. I will make it through it though. Keep up the good work July bandsters!

  2. Wow Deana! you look awsome! I love your hair straight too, that is such an accomplishment. Strut your stuff girl, you've earned it. I am only 5 weeks post-op so I love seeing the before & after pics. Congrats 243/221/120:thumbup:

Although I am not joining in on your fun, I wanted to say "YOU GO GIRLS!!!!!" AND GUYS IF THERE ARE ANY!!!!

I am running now too, I started two weeks ago and am doing 2 miles at a time as of the 4th time out. I started C25K when I was about 220 and it hurt my knees so bad, but I kept at it until the pain was just too much. I do not want to be a runner, per se. I do not want running to be my exercise of choice.

I am a biker though, and having said that, as I started running again a few weeks ago, I have a lot of lung capacity I didn't have before. I know it is because of the long rides on the road bike.

You girls keep it up and you WILL succeed. You know you will, I know you will, and soon everyone else will know you will.

  3. zeama I had my first fill today 8/15. Do you know how much they added, and have you had any trouble eating? Oh, I forgot you are on liquids. My Dr. doesn't make us do liquids unless you have a problem. I had a Protein Bar and I felt really good for about 3-4 hours. I have 3.5 put into my 10cc. band. you are doing great, lol

I got my first fill today and OMG, I feel sooooooo much better! My stomach was growling even as I was waiting in the waiting room. It did not hurt a bit. I looked directly at the ceiling and did not even feel the numbing shot. I feel full and I feel great! Back to liquids for a few days!!! :biggrin2:

  4. I am down 18lbs since the start of my pre-op diet7/3, my surgery was on 7/15. I had lost 2-3 more, but they came back since I started solids. I had my first fill today 3.5cc in a 10cc band. I can't really tell yet and the fill was a piece of cake.(sorry I said cake)haha. I am anxious to really start losing, but I just have 2 be patient. Congrats 2 all you other july bandsters! My motto "The prize is worth the price".

  5. You look awsome! I just got my first fill today, and have been on a plateau for 2 weeks. It is wonderful to see how it does work over time. When you have tried so many things 2 lose weight you almost get scared that this is not going to work either. Thanks for the role model and thank God for lbt.com!243/225/125 banded on 7/15/08

  6. Hurray for you! I was banded on 7/15/08 as well. I have lost 18-20lbs depending on the day. Most of mine came off during liquid phase(2weekspre-op,2weeks post-op 16lbs.) I was getting a little discouraged as well, but my dr. said I may even gain before my first fill. I get my fill on Fri. 8/15. I am excited and just think of how many weeks on ww that would have taken to lose 26lbs. Also you may not be eating enough. My Dr said 1500-1800 untill I get my fill, and 1200 after my fill. I have up my work outs a little since I have been feeling better I hope that will help as well. Good luck & be proud of yourself girl, your going to do it!

  7. Good luck 2 you all tom. You are in my prayers. I am 12 days pot-op and feeling great! It is so exciting, this is going 2 be the best thing we've ever done. The surgery day will go so fast and be a breeze. If you get the shoulder pain the heatin pad really helped me.LOL!

  8. I was banded on 7/15/08 and my hunger level has increased as well. I think every dr. is different on what you are allowed to eat. Mine said progress to soft foods after a week and I am suppose to get my first fill on thurs. (only 14 days posy-op!). I am not sure why it is so diff., mine told me to do 1800 cal. until my 1st fill. I have noticed I am not losing as fast, but we just need to let the band work. Try to fill up on cottage cheese and soft cooked veggies that is what is helping me. You all are in my prayers, stay positive and surround yourself with encouraging people, and walk everyday! 18 lbs. down since 7/03/08:redface:,

  9. :wub:Congratulations to all you July bandsters! My name is Angie and I am a 33 year old mother of three. I am a hairstylist, and I have a supportive husband(well as supportive as u can be at 144lbs. his whole life & can eat absolutely anything!). I have been overweight for 15 years and can only drop 10-15lbs. max. I finally recently found out I have pcos, insulin resistance,& metabolic syndrome. I prayed hard and finally decided I am worth it and I don't care what anyone thinks. I know I have tried and it's O.K. to need some help. I feel great, I have lost 16lbs. in 2 and a half weeks. I am so happy about this decision, it is great to have some people to relate to! Stay strong and LOL to U all! I forgot to add my surgery was 7/15/08 in Cincinnati. OH.

  10. Still doing great! I had one low energy day, but it didn't last long.

Did not have any of the shoulder pain some complain about, I wonder if the surgeon had anything to do with that, like sucking out the air they pumped into the cavity to expand it.

I did um.. burp and fart alot for a few days. I live alone and the dogs didn't mind. LOL..

The swelling is down and I'm able to eat a whole cup of food. My goal until my first fill is to not gain anything!

On the 26th I can resume exercise at Curves, yay! I'm walking a mile a day, and 30 minutes cardio (dancing) 3 x a week. Low fat, low sugar, no refined carbs.

Congrats 2 u! It sounds like you are doing fantastic. I had my surgery on7/15/08. Today is one week post-op, and I am feeling better. The gas pains come and go, but it's so worth it. I have lost 16lbs. since my post-op diet, and I am thinking this is the greatest decision I have ever made. I am a little nervous about the fills, and how I will feel after. My first mini goal is 30lbs. by Sept. 1st. We are going to Disney! LOL to U.

  11. I had some slimfast, and stretched out for a few minutes, and I feel better. Still think I overdid it yesterday.

It's very confusing to me the differences between all the pre and post-op diet information I see. I did clear liquids (by choice) until today.

My doctor's week one list is: Choose bland, soft, and liquid food. Clear fruit juices and broth, Gelatin, yogurt, and low-calorie, skim milk, non-fat pudding, non-carbonated drinks. Creamy Soups if very watery.

Week two: Vegatables and fruits, mashed of pureed. Other soft foods like oatmeal and other Cereal products (grains), cream of wheat, and wheat toast. ottage cheese, creamy soups, sugar-free pudding.< /p>

    ?????

I was banded 0n 7/15/08 and my restrictions are about the same as yours. Today is beginning of week 2 for me. I feel pretty good but I'm kind of nervous about going to thicker foods. I tried cream of wheat last night, that was very good. I am suppose to get my first fill at two weeks post-op. Good luck to you! Constantly sipping on liquids has helped me with my strength and sugarfree pudding pops are wonderful!

  12. I feel your pain. I had my sugery on tues. 7/15/08, and I have had alot of burning and pulling at the port site. I have been sleeping with lots of pillows and praying I don't have to pee in the night because getting up is a challenge. Today was a little better,so hang in there. Thank God you don't have the gas pains-I have been using a heating pad 4 them which has helped. I don't know how to do a ticker, but my name is Angie, I'm a 33 year old mom of 3 243 was my starting weight, I did 2 weeks liquid before and I have lost 14lbs so far!

  13. :redface:Hi all you buckeyes out there. I just had my surgery on Tues. 7/15/08! I stumbled upon this site while looking for answers about how i am feeling. I am also new to the internet(blonde hairdresser) so I hope to figure this thing out. I am excited about this process, but nervous about vommitting. Any advice I would appreciate. My starting weight was243 and I have lost 14 lbs so far.

  14. Congrats... I was banded on a thursday and went back to work on a monday.... What I can say is that for me I think it was too soon.... It is doable but if i had to do it over againi would take at least a week or 2 off so i could start feeling normal again, but just make sure u stay hydrated because i was dehydrated when i went back to work I over came it all thank God!! But i was walking around at work asking people for gas-x and stuff...but u should be ok...just wear something that is going to be confortable around your stomach...

Thanks for the advice. My first day was rough. I do hair so no resting for 7 hours. I am glad I have tom. off. Saw your progress, that is awsome. Is it going pretty easy for you?
