  1. Well if that recipes doesn't make me hungry, nothing will! GEEZ! I'm so newly sleeved I was beginning to wonder if I would EVER want real food. The Protein stuff makes me want to puke just thinking about them, I coudn't even bring myself to buy them. I am able to tolerate the Isopure---YEAH! I force down 2 a day...(15 grams each) and rely on Water until the 17th when I can have cream Soups.

Thanks for all the replies, hopefully I will not stay too depressed over food, lol. I was banded for a few years, but this is way different to me. When I was banded there was NO restrictions. No portein drinks, no liquid phases etc. World changes alot in 10 years.

  2. Did anyone else only drink Water the first few days. I'm going to try and get some Isopure tomorrow, or if my hubby can get me some today, Doc said to eat unjury or Isopure during this first week, and that Unjury isn't working for me yet.

I'm definately glad I found this site...I don't feel quite so alone. The bariatric nurse said my doc uses a 38 something to measure the nuew stomach around...so not do drink more than 30 cc at a time. Sound familiar to anyone?

  3. Now that I think about 4 oz, it wasn't(I made 4 oz)..but I drank 2 of the medicine bottle measurement cups...so that was 2 Fluid oz? Doc and Bariatric Nurse said to drink 1 little measurement full every 10-15 minutes as I could stomach it.

I do have alot of burping and a few pains in my back--maybe that is the gas everyone talks about? Going to go walking when it warms up a bit today--kinda chilly right now.

sleeping last night was rough, woke up at 2 p.m. and sat up for an hour drinking my 1 oz of Water every 10 min or so...then took a shower and let the heat pound my back...finally back to bed at 5 and slept till 7:30. If I take those pain meds I can't drive! SOOO, guess I'll call my friend from work and see if I can car pool with her the first week back to work.

When is a good time to start trying the broth, might try a SF popscicle this evening...kinda scared! This feels totally different from my band years back.

  4. I was sleeved yesterday in Houston, sent home today after the barium type test to ensure the liquids were going thru. This evening I ate 4 oz of Unjury chicken stock and now i'm about to DIE...I feel like it isn't going anywhere...maybe it is just the soreness and swelling too. Tomorrow I'm sticking with straight water...I think I might have to get the pain meds for sleep too...I feel like when I press the incisions it helps the pain...don't know when I'll be able to slee on my stomach again, I hope eventually I will be able to without pain!

  5. I met my hubby in a BBW chat room, I then lost 100 lbs over the next 3 years...then I put on another 200 lbs after the band was removed, he has loved me thru it all, and when I got skinny with NO boobs, he never complained. My hubby has been awesome, and totally supports all I do...he only wants me to be happy...:biggrin0:

  6. Hello All,

My name is Hannah...surgery is Thursday at 9:30 a.m., by Dr. Matthew St Laurent in Houston Texas. I am a little nervous I guess, but waaaay more excited about being able to gain some control over the weight.

    My History:

2002 I was banded by Dr. Molina--Non adjustable---lost 170 lbs, but the last 100 was because the band had moved and I was SICK for about 6 months before finding a Dr who would remove the band (and convince insurance to pay). So in 2007 band was GONE--thus I gained 200 lbs REALLY quick, my body gained 9 lbs in 2 days at the hospital just in liquids--no food. Anyway in under 1 year, 200 lbs came back--I signed up for Weight Watchers the day I left the hospital, but because 18 fat grams was more than I was holding down, I still gained weight--then came Jenny Craig--$1500 NOT so well spent, lol. So now I'm paying for my surgery--figure the $6000a year in meds I will be saving from all my little weight related issues over the next few years more than pays for my surgery, :D

    Now:

I'm ready for some control back, I adore cheese, italian, american, sushi, bbq, just about all food...and I love to cook, so this is my only real solution. I look forward to a surgery that doesn't 'slip' or become 'eroded'.

    Pre Op:

I have been on a liquid diet for 6 days so far (Protein shakes and 2 cups of veggies per day), I've lost 16 lbs--my hubby ate pizza next to me tonight, I could have eaten that whole plate!!! Oh well, 48 more hours and I'll be sleeved!

I plan to go back to work the Monday after the surgery, I've talked to a couple ladies who went right back...gonna have to just tough it out, lol!:)
