  1. ALOHA EVERYONE!! Okay I was sleeved on October 8th 2009....I was losing weight on a steady pace....then once I hit a lost of about 30 pounds....it just STOPPED :huh0:. I know I have heard of the stall occuring for about 1-2 weeks....but 3 weeks now? Is this normal....I am hoping that I didn't have this surgery done to only lose 30 pounds....and on top of that I have gained about 2 pounds.....what is going on?? someone please help...I am getting so discouraged now :(

  2. thank you all for all the advice :) I'm excited!!! I am so sick of broth and sugar free popsicles and Jello LOL I spoke to the nurtrionist yesterday and she said she wanted me to wait until 6-8 weeks to start on the ground meat or boiled eggs but I actually started eating boiled eggs 1 week ago and it was fine....I just had to remember to chew 30 times LOL but went down with no problem :)

  3. :sad0: OMG the depression is there and I am trying to ignore it :( I am 4 weeks out and feel very frustrated :cursing: I hate it when I see people just eat normally.....taking regular bites....gulping down drinks.....ugh and to top it all off I got on the scale and I am still at a stall....it's so frustrating.....I told my cousin geezzz I don't know what is worse being frustrated FAT or being frustrated because I can't eat normally!!! Plus I am having such a hard time sleeping lately???? UGH I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO??? I know I should be going to my support group but my support group is at Night and my Husband works at Night and we only have 1 car so that is out of the question......someone please help.....:lol0:

  4. thank you tiffykins.....yeah I have to admit although the Doctor said it was okay for me to have noodles or rice in Soup I do tend to stay away or only eat 1 small bite because yes it does end up giving me a tummy ache and that feeling that it's gonna come back up yuck :crying:

  5. I was just wondering what is everyone eating or ate at 3 weeks out? I am hoping to find something else besides Soups that are blended or sugar popsicles or sugar free Jello? Also is it never possible to drink soda again? I am getting bored with same old foods:

*blended Soup like chicken noodle(no chicken), vegetable beef (no beef),chicken with rice(no chicken)

    *sugar free jello

    *suger free popsicles

    *mashed potatoes

    *watered down oatmeal

    *crystal lite peach iced tea

please give me some other options LOL :thumbup1:

  6. yes I completely agree with NOT eating noodles LOL I now I realize what you are saying when you say that they will expand in your stomach.....I didn't have any vomitting....but boy did I feel like it....AND my stomach started hurting :thumbup1: I am just getting so bored with the same old Soups (mainly broth) and sugar free popsicles....WHAT IS EVERYONE EATING AT 3 WEEKS OUT?

  7. I am so excited :) my Doctor said I could have noodles now....(cup of noodles) but I am wondering does this mean any kind of noodles? Like chow mein noodles or spaghetti? I am now 2 weeks and 2 days out and have lost 23 pounds..... any advice?? :cursing:

  8. hopefully all goes well with you pcp...let us know what happens. I meet with my Surgeon on Saturday for my post op. He orginally told me that in the first month he anticipates me to lose 30 pounds.....but so far I have lost 20 pounds at 2 weeks. Will I keep losing weight or will I go through the 3 week stall? Does everyone go through the weight stall?

  9. thank you everyone for all your replys! So frustrating I went to my Appt. today and as I was walking in I got a phone call from the Nurse telling me that my Appt. would have to be cancelled and rescheduled due to my Doctor/Surgeon having an emergency Surgery......so we got back in the car and my Husband drove us back home LOL I did however speak to my OB/GYN this morning and she told me the first two weeks after surgery is when you will worry about blood clots that are related to the surgery itself....then 4-6 weeks you worry about blood clots based on your co-morbidities. She gave me the same advice...just keep walking and moving as much as possible. I had contacted my OB/GYN because she previously operated on me when I had a D&C and a endometrial ablation and I had "started" and am bleeding heavy again with clots. The clots really scared me....she told me I had nothing to worry about because the Heparin I received for 3 days is what is contributing to the heavy bleeding and clots. So I am trying to stay positive and active.

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I've had my Sleeve done....my total weight loss so far is 20 pounds. I am hoping that when I see my Doctor this Saturday...he will tell me that I can start eating something else besides broth, sugar free popsicles, and sugar free Jello LOL

mahalo nui loa once again for all the replies and advice :001_wub:

  10. Hi a very dear friend of mine also had the gastric sleeve and sadly passed away from having blood clots in his lungs... my question and concern....Is how long do we need to worry about getting blood clots? I was under the impression that you only had to worry about them during surgery and right after.....he was already almost 1 month out of surgery and then developed these blood clots.... I see my surgeon tomorrow so I am hoping he has alot more answers to help ease my mind....but I was just wondering what everyone's opinion was?:001_tongue:
