    Food obsession?

    YES, it does get better, WE ALL had those same obsessions, dreaming of food, what can I eat? When can I eat? You name it, we've experienced it. Now I'm 56 days out, only 4 days from 2 months. I don't think about food much, I can eat a protein bar and be just fine. I have things I throw in my lunch daily. Yogurt, Chili, Spaghetti sause with a tiny amount of pasta, Fresh bananas, blue berries & cherries, Smooth peanut butter with 4 Ritz crackers. NOT all of this, just choices. I can eat Chili from Wendy's or 5 chicken nuggets, but that's about it. I've had stuffed mushrooms at a resturant, or boild shrimp. I eat tilapia a lot, bacon wrapped shrimp, I tried a salad today, it was fine, just couldn't eat much of it. It does get much better as you go. Just be patient, it will come.

    Calorie Counter

    I use an I-Touch Ap that is called Tap & Touch. It has everything in it, from workouts at the Gym to housecleaning. I love it. I use it everyday to keep track of my burned calories. There is also an ON LINE site called The Daily Plate. It has EVERYTHING on it. Any food, any fast food, and food in the grocery store. I use it every day. I looked up bacon wrapped shrimp the other day, and it was there. I hope this helps.,
  3. Ok girls...TUESDAY I'm going under the knife. If you have any last minute instructions...please let me know. I know I'll need a pillow, loose fitting closes, a robe & slippers. I'll have to sip sip sip, rest, and walk walk walk. Sleep in my recliner for a week or so, to keep the gas at bay. I have all the right foods in the house ( I think). SF pudding and jello, protein powder, string cheese, refried beans, deviled ham and chicken spread. Tuna. Baby food fruits, veggies, and meat, pureed soups, crystal light, sugar free popcycles, naked fruit juices, & avocados. I have Centrum Chewables, Calcium Citrate Chewables & B 12 sub. Is there anything I"m leaving out?
  4. Try putting your protein powder in your chocolate Suger Free pudding. I couldn't stand the shakes either, so I used pudding. Whole scoop will go into it easy. Just put the pudding in a bowl, stir in the powder and add a teaspoon of cool whip. It's pretty good and easy to get down. I also eat Protein Bars. Try some of those, they have lots of different kinds at Kroger. Find the one with the least Carbs, and most protein. I like Atkins protein bars, because the have less carbs. If your week your probably getting dehydrated, GET your liquids IN !!!!

  6. I've been trying to get an answer to this question for a week, and can't seem to get a straight answer. Does anybody have a clue? If I have 800-1000 calories a day and 60-70 grams of protein a day, How does burning 700 calories at the Gym effect those those numbers? Should I increase my Calorie intake so my body doesn't think I'm starving? And go into starvation mode? At this pace I'm loosing inches but NO lbs. I need to know what to do.....advice?

    full feeling...

    Hum....well....I get hungry...I feel hunger pains. My stomach growls, or churns. I measure my food in 1/2 cup portions. I eat that portion, and I do feel that sensation of feeling full, like another said before, one more bite and you will be in pain. I've never thrown up, but I've over ate a couple times and it is painful for about 30 minutes. If I eat slow, and take my time, I can get it all in. If I eat fast, I get full too fast and it hurts. Chili goes down well, so does Spagetti (meat sauce). Straight meat like chicken and fish don't go down as well for me. I can eat crackers and doritos with no pain, but only eat about 5 or either, at a time. I have found a great meal at a mexican resturant last week. It's a mixture of Avocado's, tomatoe sauce, onions, cilontro, and Shrimp. VERY tasty, served warm. It goes down well, but you should cut the shrimp up in small pieces. Anyway....to answer your question, my solution is to feed my tummy when it's hungery and NOT over fill.
  9. I get plain hungry... I have to feed my tummy every 3 hours or so. I feed it small amounts of things I can eat. I have a protein shake for breakfast at 6:30 am. At 10:00 am it's break time at work and I have a snack like sliced ham & mustard, or Tuna salad. At 1:00 pm I have lunch, one of these... Chili, steamed shrimp, Spagetti meat sauce (no spaghetti), or baked Chicken. 4:00 pm break time, I have a protein bar. By the time I get home after my work out at the fittness center..I'm really hungry. And usually have one of the same items as I have for lunch and a SF pudding or Yogurt after dinner. YES I get HUNGRY...it didn't go away for me.

    Energy Levels

    YES it will...I was the same way. After you loose about 25 lbs. your energy level goes up. Plus it is a necessity to exercise. YOU HAVE TO! We all start out walking, then increase the intensity as you progress. Listen to spunky music that will keep you moving at a fast pace. Walk with a friend, do what ever it takes. The more you walk the better you feel and the easier it gets. After a while you look forward to it. I am at the Fittness center stage. I have a physcially demanding job, I'm on my feet all day, and walking, lifting, pulling etc. When I get off work I'm really tired. But I have to go to the fittness center because it's the ONLY time I have for exercise. Believe it or not, I feel BETTER after a work out. Monday Water aerobics, weight lifting, Tuesday treadmill and Zumba class (dance aerobics). Wednesday OFF, Thrusday light weight lifting, water aerobics, Friday 2 mile treadmill, Zumba class. Weekends off ! By the weekend your need a break from Work and Work outs. But It's working, I'm loosing inches, and weight slowly. But that is how I want to loose it, not fast, slowly and keep toned as much as I can. You can DO IT !!!

  12. Hey Girls and Guys! Well I joined a fittness center Saturday. Although I've been walking outdoors, the recent fidgid weather has reaked havoc on that. So my best friend and I joined Fittness Lady together. I'm so excited. We started Saturday also. We walked a mile, biked 3 miles, and joined in on a Zumba class. It was so much FUN dancing to salsa music, but it wasn't easy. We were huffing and puffing and sweating at the end of the class, but felt great for doing it. We plan on water aerobics 2 nights a week, Zumba 2 nights a week, plus getting in a 2 miles of walking before the classes. I'm already seeing results, I lost 2 lbs the next day!!! I'm ready for the coming year...YESSSSSS!

    OH yes I am tired at the end of my work day, BUT...after 4:00 pm is the ONLY time I have for exercise, so I have to take that time and do it. Believe it or not I feel MUCH better after a work out...the tiredness goes away. My body aches go away, and I sleep well when I get home. I cook food on my days off, and have it ready for the days I'm working out. I usually don't get home until 7:30 to 8:00 pm. I leave at 7:30 am. I work out 4 days a week. And I walk 1.5 miles when I'm home. You just get used to doing it. JUST DO IT....And thank you for your compliments...very appreciated!!!

    On the right track !!!

    YES, I have had sleeve surgery Dec. 1st, 2009. I waited 5 week before I started my exercise program, but I'd been walking 1.5 to 2 miles a day. I also have two baby dogs...a 4.5 lb pom, and a 14 lb Boston Terrier. They LOVE walks!!! All my incision have healed and I feel great. Going to the fittness center is tough after work, because I'm so tired, but I actually feel better after a work out. I leave home at 7:30 am and don't get home until 8:00 pm. But if I don't go after work, I won't get exercise. So I do what I have to do. Plus my BEST FRIEND joined with me, so that makes it SOOO Much better. The 2 hours fly by when you have someone to talk to and share with. She's been working out for 2 years, so she is a great inspiration and pushes me to do as much as I can. My husband is not real happy with only seeing me 3 hours a night, but he understands, and is proud of me for trying so hard. I only go 4 days a week, so I can give him as much time as I can. I love the Water aerobics class, and the Zumba class. The weight lifting and tread mill are NOT my favorites, but a necessity. You'll get there...just give it time. GOOD LUCK!!!!:thumbup:

    Confession Time

    I confess that I may never have a good sex life again. Not because of my weight, not because of my own insecurities. It's because of the sexual skills of my mate. He is a wonderful man, faithful, very handsome, very nice body, but NO skills. I don't know what to do. YES I know this is very personal, and possibly too personal, but I'm so frustrated. My 1st husband was awsome, he had skills. But that's all he had, no heart, unfaithful, selfish, and bi-polar. I would never trade one for the other. I'd rather have a good man than good sex. SO here I am...with no sex drive any longer, because I'm so not satisfied.

    Ugggh!!

    I too had a very frustrating stall that lasted 3 weeks. My weight continues to move very slow, only a 2 lbs a week, sometimes 3, sometimes 1. But it is moving. I have from 600 to 1000 calories a day, 50 - 80 grams of protein, and try to keep carbs below 40. I walk every day, I go to the fittness center and burn off at least 500 calories every evening. I have a very physically demanding job, I walk all day at work, plus lifting & pulling. I am a floral Mgr. @ Kroger. Some days are less strenuous, but for the most part I'm very active. I'm thinking my problem maybe Ketosis. Sugar will distroy ketosis. And I've had protein bars and protein drinks with small amounts of sugar. I have also had a hershey kiss here and there, plus a bit of chocoloate here and there. I'm thinking that may be my problem. Check the sugar in everything you eat, I'm going to have to do that, and see if it makes a difference. I hope things get better for you soon. I know how dog gone frustrating this can be. I mean I used to eat a TON of food, anything and everything I wanted, and I'm eating less than a 1/4 of what i used to eat. You'd think the lbs would felt off like crazy, but they are not. Like you...I don't get it...but we just have to keep trying. I wouldn't go back to where I was for anything though... I feel better, I look better and I am better. DON'T GIVE UP you can only improve from here....Keep your chin up girl!!!!

    You are OH SO welcome....I did my Zumba Class today...and 1.5 miles on the treadmill...then a light weight lifting session... I had a great day... You just keep going girl...don't put it off...JUST DO IT !!! as they say. I'll be your cheerleader!!!!! Rah Rah Rah !!!!

    Thanks Tiffy!!!! Cathy and I walked on the treadmill this evening for 15 minuites then took a water aerobics class for 1 hour. IT WAS GREAT ! Hard though, but I hung in there and did it all. Afterwards we sat in the hot tub and relaxed. I love the Fittness Center ! Tomorrow is Zumba and treadmill, and we'll talk to a fittness instructor. I burned off 724 calories today !!! YES!!!!!!!:smile1:
  20. I'm using Atkins Protein shakes 160 calories, 15 grams protien, 4 carbs. also Atkins Protein bars 200 calories, 17 grams of protein, 18 carbs. These have MUCH less carbs that other protein shakes and bars. They also have protein shots (as in drink) at Kroger and Walmart. It a tube of liquid protein. It looks like about a half cup of flavored liquid. I've not tried that yet. Hope this helps.
  21. I'm sure TIffy is right. I went through a bad stall that lasted over 2 weeks. It started the 2nd week post op. Talk about frustrating !! It was due to what I was eating. I didn't count carbs or calories...and was shocked at how many carbs and calories I was getting when I counted them all up. I was stuck at 11 lbs for almost 3 weeks. Now I've lost 25lbs. But I'm stalled again, because I've adopted Protein bars...Bad Idea.. I was eating 3 a day...also Bad Idea...they have more carbs than protein, plus they were 180 to 200 calories per bar. So I've droped to one bar a day, and I'm doing everything I can to get my protein in other ways. Such as sliced ham...30 calories per slice 5 protien grams. (90/15) GOOD. eggs 75 calories 7 protein, Shrimp (15 large) boiled 84 calories 20 portein grams ( 84/20) GOOD. ATKIN'S Protein shake 160 calorlies 3 carbs, 15 Proteins grams. GOOD ! Venison 135 calories for 3 oz, 26 protein grams !!! VERY GOOD! Baked Cat Fish 3 oz. 16 protein grams, 99 calories ! lobster steamed 3 oz. 20 grams protein, 83 calories !! Tuna 3 oz. 22 grams protein, 99 calories. chicken Breast 3 oz. 27 grams protein, 142 calories. Canned chicken 3 oz. 21 grams protein, 113 calories. These are the best things I can find. When I drop carbs and calories..the weight starts coming off again. I've been stuborn...but I'm back on track now. Hope this helps. It's very hard to change a lifetime of habits in a 36 days. But keep trying....it HAS to work eventually... it did for me.
  22. Had to adopt that attitude years ago. Too many people live there lives for intertain others. I live for ME, I'm not selfish at all, I love people, but going broke to please other people is not only rediculous but in sane! I've make my gifts, give them when I feel like it, not on a specific day of the year. I dress the way that I am comfortable, I love my friends, my family, and my co-workers. And they accept me as I am, as I do them. Anyone who doesn't do that, is NOT your friend. Be who you are, never what someone else what's you to be. You'll never be happy any other way.

    I ask my husband once when we were dating, "will you tell me if I do anything that aggravates you or that you don't like?" he said "no" I said "why" he said. " I want youto be who you are, if I can't deal with that, then I don't need to be with you, You are who you are". I loved that attitude and we've been happily married for 7 years.

    Ok here's my two cents.... Personally I don't care what anybody thinks. It's was my decision, my money, and my body. But then again, I've not cared about other's opinions for years when it comes to MY life. I have never been a slave to fashion or trends, or what's hot & what's not. I've always lived the way I wanted to, dressed the way I wanted to, and made myself happy. It's not man's opinion that gives us God's favor. It's how we live our lives that pleases him. Why people care about critical, judgemental, materialistic, superficial, hypocritial, shallow, people's opinions is beyond me. Do what is best for YOU and YOUR life. And follow the golden rule. That's how I roll !!!!

    Tuna Rice Casserole

    Believe it or not I agree Cajun. I don't eat rice, drink milk, or have butter. All No No's in my book. Tuna a cheese, acceptable but none of the rest.
