    The WRONG Isopure!!??

I ordered tons of samples from the thread here and the only one I have been able to tolerate is the unjury chocolate flavor. It isn't super thick and just tastes like chocolate milk to me. The rest all grossed me out! Good luck with your search.
  3. Awesome job!!:thumbup1:

    were you nervous to eat

Thank you all for the suggestions.... I will for sure try them. I have gotten myself worked up the for the first time since my surgery and feel fearful. It was an awful feeling having that food kind of "stuck" and feeling like my chest was going to burst after 2 bites. Once it was up it was fine but I sure hope not to repeat that. I guess I have to have my brain catch up to my new stomach and be patient with myself. I keep having to remind myself that this is all a process. I don't know what I would do without being able to come here for reassurance and knowledge from all of you! Thank you Diane
  5. Hi All, I am 2 weeks out and today can move to things like cottage cheese, tuna fish. I am feeling very nervous about starting to actually eat. Is that weird? did you experience that? I am getting used to the liquid (although it isn't much fun) and I am doing good. I am afraid I will hurt something. I know it doesn't sound rational.. Diane

    were you nervous to eat

Hi there and thanks for your quick responses. I know I need to settle down. The first thing I am thinking is oh my god, is this going to be the way it is.... freaks me out a little. I was allowed cream of wheat and yogurt last week and had no problem with that. Maybe I need to try something else besides cottage cheese. The things recommended by the surgeon for this week were cottage cheese, tuna or salmon smashed with a fork, refried beans.... I can't imagine the tuna going down if the cottage cheese wouldn't. I will just have to keep working at it. Thank you

Well....... here's what happened. I tried cottage cheese. Measured out 1/4 cup, took a few bites and out it came. I felt horrible until it did. I hope this gets better!? Thanks for all your input

    I am scheduled April 6 2010

Hi Kim, I had my surgery on the 8th and am returning to work tomorrow, so I have had 14 days, which I think was perfect. I am still a little on the tired side but I do think it is from lack of real food. If I had returned a week earlier it would of been to soon for me. I am quite bit older than you though and I am sure that will make a difference in your recovery. Can you plan on returning then and not go if your not up to it? Love your surgery date - my 50th birthday :001_smile: Best of luck to you in the days ahead Diane
  10. Hi Lee, You have a great attitude! always positive... I had alot of problems with my incision on the right also. It bothered me even after everything else started to feel better. I saw the surgeon last week and he said that is normal, that is the spot he did most of the work from. Even when it didn't "hurt" getting up and sitting were rough. Now today (2 weeks tomorrow) it is much better. I get to move to "mushy" food tomorrow and I am looking forward to it. Getting bored with the same old stuff. Do you know why you have a fever? have you contacted the surgeon? I know they said if mine got to 100. to let them know. Take Care of yourself and keep smiling :001_smile: Diane

Wishing you all the best tomorrow for a safe and easy surgery and recovery. Tomorrow truly is the first day of your new life! Diane:thumbup1:
  12. I too just had my surgery done, and have a 40 and have had zero stomach issues so far! I think you have to trust your surgeon, maybe have a good talk with the surgeon and explain your concerns. Diane
  13. How awesome! Congratulations to you :thumbup1: Diane

    Boughie size comparison

I love being able to come here and see that so many people are in the same place as me, wondering the same things! how reassuring. I have a 40 and was wondering "is this too big?" "will I lose" "how come I don't feel restricted on liquids?" and I click and see others are thinking the same things and people ahead of us have answers.. Thank you so much!!! I loved looking at the pens, what a visual - how can I worry after looking at that! Thanks all Diane
  17. I just asked my dr. that yesterday when I went for my 10 day check and I too am curious about that. He said 40 also. I have heard there is not a lot of difference between 36 & 40, but honestly it doesn't mean all that much to me, I have just heard the sizes talked about.
  18. Hi Mini-me thanks for asking how I am doing...... pretty well! I went for my check up today (10 days since surgery). I am down 17 pounds total including the diet before surgery (I lost 10 then) so that seems pretty good. I got the drain out today thank god, it was making me crazy. Felt really weird coming out. I am tired still, can't seem to get my strength back yet but that will come. My incision on the right side is really bothering me but he said that is where they did most of the work. I am curious about Boughie size. I asked him today (a little late to be asking I know) what size he used and he said 40. Does anyone know if that is average or too large? I haven't heard anyone say they had that size. I am supposed to go back to work on Monday so I am hoping I am feeling more perky by then. I guess I am a work in progress, have to take it one day at a time and not get overwhelmed. Take Care! Diane
  19. you look beautiful! Way to Go

  22. Wishing you all the best for a great surgery and recovery.
  23. Well said Tiff, I think fear is what helps keep me in check. I figure I have done something this severe I need to follow the rules. They are there for a reason. Diane
  24. Hi Pumpkin, Maybe you are expecting too much too quickly.... I know I was sleeved the day before you and today was the first time I have left the house. I was thinking when I read yours - she is already out at costco and getting around better than me, whats wrong with me. Went to the grocery store and target and was exhausted when I got back. I am having alot of stomach issues right now where whatever I am putting in is coming right out (sorry) ... so I need to stay close to a bathroom. I am too nervous to stray from the diet although I must admit I am hungry for something besides broth and protein drinks. Honestly they make me want to throw up looking at them and smelling them. I almost gag but know it is what I must do for now. Keep your head up and we will all need to encourage each other. I know at the end of this stage it will get better. I guess I too wasn't expecting it too be so hard, but then when I think about it why wouldn't it be. It is major surgery. Our bodies have been traumatized and they have to heal and recovery and get used to our new tummy. Take Care Diane
