  1. Some things I just stay away from, and cereal has alot of carbs and sugars, so I don't eat it. As Mac stated, alot of things will taste differently, and things you use to love- just not the same. I use to LOVE steak, now, not so much. I also don't drink milk anymore. Kinda curious as to how my labs will be this time, I'll find out in a few weeks when I go back to the doc.
  2. I'm trying to figure out how I'm gonna eat...... I have to work overnights for 3 or 4 days.....7pm to 8 am. :thumbup1: I don't want to eat prior to going to bed. And I'm sure I'm gonna be so tired the first night I will fall right to sleep. I start tonight....... so I got up really early this morning (like 3 am) so i can go lay down about 1pm and hopefully sleep til 5:30 I guess I can have my protein and coffee backwards, have it around 8 pm And was thinking just some broth the first nights, afraid to have anything Heavy, but know I have to eat....... suggestions!! Pleaseeeeeeee!:svengo:

  4. Forgot to mention that I also use liquid minoxidil for hair growth. After I was my hair in the morning I put it on the trouble spots then just dry my hair like normal. When I come home at night I use it again before going to bed, and i can see a difference.
  5. I take Bariatric Advantage -chewable multivitamin and mineral formula I tried the lemon and DID NOT like it, so now I use the watermelon- I take 2 a day. Then i take Bariatric Advantage Dry Vitamin D 5000iu- 2 a day Once a week ( on Mondays ) I take Bariatric Advantage sublingual B12 And I take Hair,Skin, and Nails Biotin/Collagen/Gelatin Spring Valley Vitamins.-take 3 only once a day. I had added calcium early, but Labs were all so good I quit. I'll get the results back from my labs next week.... so will see what both my doctors say.
  6. Hi Xbander!! Glad to hear things are going well for you! When you mentioned the pain when waking up in the recovery room........ I could relate- even tho it was almost 9 months ago- I DO remember waking to awful pain. It's all a blur now LOL And bathroom issues, boy- are they an issue at times!! I still have issues, and will take a stool softener when I notice I havn't gone in a few days....it's getting better tho. Glad things are going good for you!!
  7. WTG Judy!!! I can't wait to hear your success story!! Keep us posted and will be thinking of you!!! It just gets better!!
  8. Wishing.... I was in no means trying to put you on the "spot"....just curious as to why you would .....as you said....chicken out. And "elective" means- you chose the operation. The doctors didn't..... not like a gall bladder removal, apendectemy, etc. Yes, you might need it, and think it's mandatory, but the way the health care system is today, it just doesn't happen like that. I was VERY scared, and went thru it by myself.... no one in the waiting room to hear how I did after surgery, no one to be there when I woke up... so yes, I do know what the fears are, but my fear was to die being morbidly obese. And that made up my mind for me. I hope you conquer your fears, because if you're contemplating this surgery, you know in the back of your mind you NEED this surgery. I wrestled with this for several years, and am so glad I finnaly took the step to change my life. Surgery might be uncomfortable fo you to face, but your health is worth it! I wish you the best......... please let us know how it goes. and I'm sorry if I offended you..... not my intentions.
  9. Nope........ You're not alone there talking to the dogs Haley! My kids say I love them better then them.......hmmmmmmmmm is it cause my dogs show me "unconditional" love?? ALWAYS welcome me home??? Loveeeeeeeeeeeee me no matter what kinda mood I'm in?? Yep.... might be it!! LOL
  10. Hi Wishing, and welcome! Why would you be thinking so negative? Don't you want this? Or is it just "surgery" that frightens you? Do you have a date set? Is there something you're not telling? I know I had some fears, but there was no way I would have canceled out on any of this! Have you cancelled on any elective surgeries before? Just curious....
  11. Hi Haley and WELCOME!! Sighhhhhh..... I don't know pounds, stones, kilos etc........but I do know that you took the first step to a healthier YOU! Glad to have you here- and I'm an animal lover too, but it's dogs. I have two - a Pomeranian and a Yorkie who think they are human and think they are my children.......... they actually treat me better than my natural children!! LOL! G'luck to you and welcome again!
  12. Hi Mona- I've been pretty busy with my car being wrecked, so I havn't had time to really go thru all my things. I have some promised already and I did get rid of the larger sizes, so I'll send you a PM and we can talk more. Didn't want you to think I was just ignoring this post. Talk to you soon!
  13. Linda- It's a booger of a surgery isn't it?? Not gonna "sugar coat" it for anyone- I have a high tolerance to pain, but this was over the top and I was a.. B A B Y !!!! But congrats to you for taking the next step too! I had surgery on my right knee- and my left knee was hurting too because I was overcompensating for my bad right knee- but today.........NO PAIN!! Cajun- I'm thrilled for you!! And you are so early out you have many more wonderful experiences coming your way!!! Being even more active than what you are now, the INCHES melting off........ the NEW CLOTHES!! lol You have alot to look forward to! Congratulations to a GOOD DAY for you both!!!
  14. I'm with the others-Tiff-thinoneday-soontobeskinny= Not getting it.....I got a flu shot about 12 years ago, and I know all the research says you won't get sick from the shot- but I DID. It hit me within 30 minutes from getting the shot and I was soooo very sick. All the doctors say you won't get sick and if you do- you were going to get sick anyway. Well- I was COMPLETLY HEALTHY and don't believe it...... and don't wanna take that chance again. So........... no flu shot for meeeeeeeeeeeee.
  15. Xbander- I can just tell you about my experiences..... everyone is different. I'll be 9 months out on Nov.9th- and I just vomited last night. I had a hard time in the beginning..... would have the slimes and then vomit. Nothing I couldn't handel, just had to learn how to eat right. Now, alot of it's due to the fact I might eat too fast, or not chew my food like we're suppose to. Kinda think I'm "normal" but I'm not:001_tt2: Like Vegas- I can't eat breakfast- don't even want food that early- but I know we have to eat three times a day, so I still do protein drinks in the mornings. I've tried, on my days off I can kinda eat, but it's late around 9 or 10( and had been up for several hours) So- I just stick with the protein drinks for my morning meal. Last nights episode was because I ate too fast- and let me tell you- it hit quick! I almost didn't have time to make it to the bathroom! Wasn't ready for that, but I have noticed the last few times I have gotten sick- it has been FAST!
  16. I never knew how good I would feel in a GOOD bra!!! And Bill......... LOL... too funny!!
  17. Thanks for the encouraging words Vegas! And Susan.. I don't think I'm gonna make it either, but am givin' it a good try!! I'm down to 208 again......Thats 9 pounds I would have to lose and thats not realistic this far out of surgery. But I have not given up- I exercised again this morning, and have watched what I ate today. I had my year visit with my Knee Surgen, and he was impressed with my weight loss, the mobility of my leg, and said I was looking and doing fantastic! ( his words! ) So that was another PLUS......... made me stay focused today! I have reflected since my doctor visit, and told them how much i appreciated them, and how having my knee surgery finnally made me realize I HAD to do something about my weight. They kinda saved my life too..... becasue if I hadn't had the knee surgery, I would have probably kept up all the excuses. But having a good surgen, I knew it was my end that needed to improve. I could hardly go check the mail without being out of breath, I would try to bring in the trash cans and it would feel like I was taking on such a major project, out of breath, my feet hurting, my back hurting..... I was miserable! I know I'm kinda rambeling.... but I think those of you that have had the surgery know what I'm talking about, and those that are hoping for the surgery, hopefully this will make you see that there is a bright side to it...... health. It CAN get better.... and will........ but the road you choose to take is yours and yours alone. And no one can do it for you, and it is a daily struggle, and something you have to work at. But it can be done. I am greatful today......... and I had another GOOD day.
  18. Thats a debatable subject..... some docs dont' want you drinking it, and others don't care. My doc was against it, would rather it be decaf- says sometimes caffine makes you want to "graze" and he also said it doesn't count towards you liquid intake.... I stated drinking it about 6-7 months out. I can't eat breakfast yet, so I put my protein powder in it.
  19. Woo hoooo!! Isn't that the best feeling ?? I'm really happy for you and WOW- down 40 pounds already>???? WTG!! Keep up the good work!
  20. G'Luck to you!! I know you gotta be excited!! Will be thinking of you!! Let us know how it goes!!
  21. Hi and welcome to the boards!! Any type of surgery is a big decision......... so all I can offer to you is that it WAS THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE! I too am a self pay- and researched for years, wondering if it was worth the money I spent......... YES IT WAS!! I would not have been able to continue working in the field that I'm in.... I'm healthier, and more focused. I wish you the best of luck in your decision.
  22. I'm kinda with Tiff on this one.... gonna wait and see where I am at in 3 months- not sure if I will make "goal" but am trying to. ( am 9 months out on the 9th of Nov. ) I think I will probably wait another year- gonna talk to my surgen when I see him next month and get his opinion on the subject.
  23. Your mind probably can't even imagine being full on a 1/2 cup of soup- but you will. So early out I had a hard time getting in my protein drinks. Just take your time, you may "want" to eat more, but you shouldn't make yourself sick by eating more than your new tummy can handel. You WILL be able to tell!
  24. Up Date....... I'm kinda impressed with Progressive insurance! I was coming home this morning from running errands, and I called the Auto body shop and swung by there. The Adjuster had been there Friday and gave them the OK to start the work. $7.600.00 WORTH OF DAMAGE!! The Auto shop said they have a good working relationship with Progressive, and they don't try to cheat you or just "glue" things, they had to order several parts.... and was all approved. So they didn't "total" it...... so maybe things will be ok. I'm hoping anyway!! I had to use this auto body in the past and they do excellent work and don't cut corners and are honest... They all told me it will be a few weeks, but parts are ordered and car staring to be taken apart.....
