Hi Henry, welome and congratulations on an awesome weight loss so far. There's several on here from Florida, what city r u from?

Hey TennJenn, well some days better than others. I went through a rough patch of nausea but seems to be getting better. My biggest problem is getting in some Protein. I don't even try the shakes or drinks anymore they make me gag. Well I start reg food tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. How have you been?

Vegas I'm exactly the same. I usually don't eat or drink anything until 11 am or so. Then try to figure out what could be possible. I also have fought some depression wondering if things will ever be normal. I'm sure things will get better in time, until then try to figure out what works best.

Welcome Brad, you have such a great outlook. I'm sure you're going to have alot of success on your journey. You sound alot like me tho I'm a year older. I have 4 kids and I just wanted 1 more chance to have a healthier happier life and be able to see my kids grow up. Hopefully we have it now. Keep us posted and feel free to chime in or ask questions anytime.

I went to my doctor today and was pretty shocked. She didn't want to do anything after I told her my surgery was in Mexico. Kept saying try to call them in Mexico. She put me on phenergan and wants me to come back Friday for IV Fluids. Didn't even look at my incisions. But I left there and bought me a of ice tea. Half sweet and half unsweet. Its the first time I've had anything with sugar in it. I was able to drink the entire thing over about 2 hours and actually feel a little better. Maybe something to do with sugar, I don't know. I'm going to try really hard tomorrow and look into some of those samples mentioned.

I too have been so nauseated for 2 days. I don't think it's flu. I'm not drinking hardly anything. I've not really gotten any Protein in since surgery. I've spent more than 100.00 on different kinds of shakes and drinks I just cannot stand any of them. It takes everything I can do to get my medicine down without heaving. I considered going to the ER until I checked here and saw others having the same problem. I have zero energy. Don't know how long I can handle this.

OMG Bearded I have the exact same problem. I am 12 days postop and I cannot sleep until 2 or 3 and getting up at 11. I've tried to go to bed earlier but I just lay there with my eyes wide open. What is going on?

Hi Chancie, welcome. You have found a great support team here. OMG 131 pounds in 5 months, that is incredible!! I'm only 12 days postop, that gives me so much inspiration. Please share with us what kind of changes you have gone through and what struggles you mentioned still.

Hey Susan I'm near Tallahassee, I didn't realize we were so close. Infact, I flew from JAX to San Diego. It's nice, I have several friends there.

I couldn't have handled it without my husand there. He was there to wash my face when I was so nauseated and pushed me to get up and walk and do my breathing exercises. I didn't realize how important it is to have someone who loves you be by your side.

Good luck, you will be fine. You get to enjoy one last meal tonight, may I suggest the Italian restaurant at the resort. I had the spinach fettucini with chicken, it was freakin awesome. (Stear clear from the lasagna.)

Hey there! I am the other one you met on day 2. Glad to hear you got home safe. I'm the same on the leg swelling, I don't have any at all either, yay! I feel tired easily and light headed. I'll be so glad to get past this liquid stage.

Hi everyone. I arrived last night in San Diego and it is beautiful here. We walked around alot in Old Town. The night life is great. Anyway I'm supposed to be picked up here at the Comfort Inn this morning. Thanks everyone for your answers and support. I am sure I will have alot of stupid questions after I'm done. Say a prayer for me tomorrow.

Does anyone know a decent hotel near the airport in San Diego with shuttle service? I am going the night before my pickup due to not able to find a flight that got me there before 11 am the day of.
Thanks, Kauser

I'm losing my hair!!!!!
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Posted
My surgery was almost 8 months ago and my hair is still falling out by the handfulls. I've lost more than half of my hair. I had long and pretty thick hair and I've had to cut it shoulder length and layer it. Its more noticeable on top and that's pretty depressing to me. My hair was one of my best attributes. I have some new growth but it's no where near the healthy hairs I had. The baby hairs are tiny and kinky and they also fall out. I take in more Protein, do the shakes, take Biotin, mvi's, expensive shampoos, everything one can do, and it hasn't helped. Having said all that, I still would take the weight loss if given the choice. But man, I pray this stops soon or I'll be looking for a wig.
