    A Sushi Nightmare,lesson Learned :(

sushi is something I miss very much - I can't eat much seafood because of the high copper content - but I did have a little not that long ago - I agree with previous posters - it very well could be the rice - try eating it without the rice

    Chicken

set the chicken aside and try it at a later date. Try tilapia - its not a "fishy" fish - and it pretty much, like chicken takes on the flavors of what you prepare it with. Grilled pork loin chops are another option - nice lean meat - gives you a bit of iron and very tasty! There's always strip steaks, which are lower in fat. Stay away from tbones and ribeyes. They're very high in fat.

    Soups/full Liquids?

Have you tried the premiere Protein shakes? They have them at both sams and costco. They have vanilla and chocolate. They're 30g of protein each - 11 oz. They're not thick and don't have an aftertaste. The chocolate tastes like chocolate milk and the vanilla tastes like regular milk with a little vanilla flavoring - not overpowering at all. I wouldn't get my protein in at this point without them - they're my breakfast every day

    Soups/full Liquids?

Sounds like you're still pretty swollen! It was about at the 3 week point that really turned for me. I was able to feel like I "ate" something. What happens when you try a full liquid Soup?
  5. Honey! you'll be ok, I promise! I see you're from Northern Michigan - I just left there (Traverse City area) a few months ago. Glad you're ok after that storm. My dad still doesn't have power! You can only do what you can do! Try to get out and walk - try to get on that treadmill! Its never a good thing when your whole world gets tossed upside down. Just get back on the wagon as soon as you can!
  6. heck yeah! post away! Hopefully some of us can give you some tips and maybe answer any questions you might have! Glad you're on your way! let me know if I can help! I'm about 5 weeks post -op and I've lost 46 lbs since 2 weeks before surgery

    The Burning!

My sister had horrible heartburn -tums didn't work but the tums SMOOTHIES did. Maybe swtich up to that or rolaids instead?
  8. smart ones seem to have a lot of preservatives and a lot of salt - lean cuisines you can typically find lower sodium and they don't use any preservatives. There are also low fat/low carb options that are thorougly enjoyable - steak tips portabello is my favorite
  9. every doc is different - Doing a pre op diet will make everything easier as it will shrink your liver.
  10. any chance that time of the month is on its way? That usually can be good for up to 9 lbs of water weight. Calculate your calories - make sure you're getting enough. I see you're eating deli meat - that's high in sodium which might be causing you to retain water.

don't give up! paying out of pocket should be a last resort! You pay your insurance premiums, get the most out of them that you can.

    I Find The Operation Stupid

Yes, you're not quite ready for cats yet. Those are definitely a slider food.

    I Find The Operation Stupid

What I find interesting is that this person won't state what his diet is, has already stated he wouldn't listen to his surgeon - he was just going to google it and be done - that's all he needs. Well, I guess you have gotten what you've prepared for. Too bad you didn't pay attention and still won't.

    Irritations

well and the funny thing is, what he did get for me I wouldn't have even eaten BEFORE the surgery.

    Irritations

Ya know, I really hate it when I give someone explicit instructions - even WRITE THEM DOWN about what I can eat and they don't follow them and then get pissy at ME because they don't follow instructions. Don't volunteer yourself to go get lunch if you're not going to pay attention. Knowing I have specific food requirements, you should probably pay attention. I didn't write it down because I'm trying to annoy you, I'm trying to do things right. If you don't want to do them right, don't volunteer to do them. I get that mistakes are made - no big deal, but then to get pissy and lash out at ME because you can't seem to handle it - that ain't gonna fly.

no, I don't "think" it - you've proven it. I don't have to think it when the facts are glaring me in the face. troll.

    Concerned

at this point anything is possible - could be sleeve related or maybe not. Better to be checked out!

    Concerned

Its hard to say - you're far enough along that a leak would be kindof rare, but it can definitely still happen. Have your incisions all healed? If your fever doesn't go away, I'd go to the ER - the longer you wait, the worse things can get. Are you able to eat and drink and keep food down?

    Jeans For Small Waist/big Thighs

I long ago gave up and went to mens jeans haha. Besides the larger thighs, I also have a 35" inseam. Dereon has some nice jeans too - I had bought a couple pair a few years ago and they fit great - they have up to a 35" inseam which is what drew me there. They're also designed by Beyonce so there's room in the thigh even if you have a small waist. If all else fails, you can take your jeans to a seamstress and she can adjust the waist. Its not too terribly expensive, but I'd find jeans that you REALLY like and have it done.
  22. love this idea! gonna hafta go get some greek yogurt!
  23. sounds great! gives you a little more time to recover! I would say around week 3 it was a night and day difference for me. Hope you have the same experience! Postponing means the stars and planets are lining up for you!

    Abdominal & Chest Pain

are you drinking liquids with a straw? That will put more gas into your body and cause the upper left quadrant pain at times. My Grandpa, after having a gastrectomy because of cancer kept swallowing air and that led to the same pain, and they thought he was having a heart attack - just literally turned out to be gas. He was swallowing air because it pushed down the acid he was having trouble with. I hope that they find the resolution for you.
  25. actually not a bad idea. some baking soda in warm Water or even some ginger root boiled in green tea. Even candied ginger boiled in water. A little sugar especially when you're ill isn't going to hurt you.
