  1. First of all, stop looking at it as a "warning" - its not like you have a second head growing out of your belly-button - that would require a warning If you're close enough to him to wanna get nekkid around him, I would think you would be close enough to him to discuss the trials and tribulations you've been through that have helped to make the person you are that he's really liking. Knowing your struggles and your victories will only endear you to a real man anyway

    Rough Night

Thanks I've never had a panic attack - but the adrenal attack of all the adrenaline coursing through the body at a high rate of speed is excruciating. You know how you're laying in bed almost asleep because you have that feeling of falling? I have that feeling for 12 straight hours. Its kindof funny when I have it and I don't have the pain that goes with it but when the pain starts, its all over. The only thing I've found that actually lessens the pain (doesn't completely stop it, but does make it tolerable) is morphine. I can't get morphine to take home, so its only if its REALLY bad and I go to the ER that I don't just ride it out. I can't afford all those trips to the ER with a 200.00 ER copay each time. I'm just glad there's a light at the end of the tunnel and its not an oncoming train

    Rough Night

So, last night I had an adrenal attack. Basically, I have a panic attack, but without the mental aspect of it. It lasted about 12 hours. Its extremely painful and the only thing that seems to ease the pain is extremely hot water. Even the hot tub wasn't hot enough. I'm extremely exhausted now because of the lack of sleep. Its amazing how much pain something so small as an adrenal tumor can cause. After I have my sleeve, I'll be scheduled for additional treatment for the tumors. I cannot wait for that to happen. This surgery has more of an effect on things than my weight. My doctor is hoping that it will help to restore my thyroid function as well as help with the PCOS and allow better treatment for my insomnia and endometriosis - most of which was caused by the steroid treatments I was on for years. So here's to getting all of this started and solved!

    I Can Do Pull Ups!

awesome! I can't wait to be able to do pull ups! I've never really been able to do them - even when I wasn't obese. I've never really had the upper body strength - but that is definitey a goal! Congrats.

    Just Over 3 Weeks

I'm just a little over 3 weeks away from surgery. I'm nervous/excited. I started stocking up on soups and whatnot for my "clear liquids" portion of the process. I'm not a very good broth-eater, but I'll do it! Still waiting on my passport to get here - I have to renew my drivers license because that expires at the same time - UGH! What a pain!
  8. Some surgeons staple the incisions too

    Very Confused About Pre Op

every surgeon is different, every pre-op diet and post-op diet is different. One thing they all have in common is that they are low fat, high protein diets. Lower fat and lower carbs will help to shrink the liver.

    Cant Have Surgery ;'(

You should be able to call the surgery scheduling center and they should be able to give you an estimate of what you will have to pay out of pocket. It really shouldn't be much with it being just 10% of admissions costs. You might be looking at just a few hundred dollars.
  11. holy crow! That's amazing! Congrats!!!!
  12. see if you can find a psych office that will do the eval based on income? There are quite a few out there that will help with this sort of thing. I see you're in San Antonio - check out the Methodist Healthcare Ministries. http://www.mhm.org/clients/support-services/counseling-support-services Perhaps this might be an option for you
  13. It is frustrating. You're right - you would want him to drop everything and get to you in your time of need. It just goes with the territory. I would definitely go to the other seminar - you might learn something new and perhaps really like the surgeon more than the first one you were supposed to see today. Keep your options open and do as much legwork as you can. It will be worth it!
  14. I'm headed to Mexico at the end of this month. I feel very confident in my decision, not just because of the money, but because of the research I've done on the doctor, the facility, my personal medical needs and the education of the doctor. I have an aversion to US doctors because of being misdiagnosed by so many doctors for so long. Fearmongering of some is to be taken with a grain of salt, so is the absolute GUSHING over a doctor or experience that was considered to be so perfect that birds were singing to them every morning. If its too good to be true, it probably is. If its too horrible to be true, it probably is. Take the middle ground and DO YOUR RESEARCH! I'm going at the end of this month, I'll give you a full account of everything that I see and go through.
  15. staple removal doesn't hurt at all - its significantly less of an ordeal than suture removal. Don't worry!

This Week Is Just Not Starting Off Right-- Week 3

The pain could very well be from your gall bladder if you still have that. The other option could be an internal hernia. I'm glad you're being accountable and getting back on track! Hang in there!

    Just Over 3 Weeks

    Great idea thanks!
  18. perhaps see if your doctor will give you codeine to supress your cough.
  19. I think that other people have a *view* of what everyone else should be. If you're comfortable where you are, then you're at your goal. I think basing your goal on a number that something you stand on tells you isn't the way to go. You said yourself you needed to tone up. That's not going to be rated by the scale - that will be rated on how your clothes fit and how you feel. I don't think you need to worry about the scale, but rather how you feel in your own body. You've done a lot of the hard work, but I think the hardest part is being okay with where you are sometimes. Forget what other people say, its about how you feel.
  20. Never, EVER be embarrassed to ask a doctor ANYTHING. They've heard, seen, thought of anything and more that you could possibly ask them. Wouldn't it be MORE embarrassing for the doctor to think you DON'T have sex with your significant other???

    Allergic Reaction?

wow - hope you are all cleared up very soon! I was starting to wonder because my husband broke out in his face after drinking a sobe life water that had mango in it - he's HORRIBLY allergic to poison ivy and the skin of a mango has an oil in it similar to the oil on poison ivy and it totally made him break out!
  22. My shoes! I have an extensive collection of shoes - most are 3-6 inch heels. I used to wear heels every day until I got sick - I can't wait to wear them again!

    Tough Time Finding Financing

Have you looked for other employment opportunities? Do you work for a temp service that offers insurance perhaps? Its hard to save money, I get that. Financing with bad credit is going to be nearly impossible. Take the time now to get your credit in order, perhaps look for a position that will provide health insurance. A lot of places depending on where you live give health insurance to part time employees - Starbucks being one of them.
