  4. Have my 6 week follow up tomorrow and first fill. I've lost 29lbs but feel no restriction so I'm confident they will give me a fill. I'm nervous but excited at the same time! Hope everyone is well!

    I wasn't told I couldn't do crunches...I've been doing them! Crap!
  6. Just FYI soy is considered an inflammatory food and has been linked to multiple cancers. I'd say stick with a whey protein!
  7. I was also banded 9/17. My first fill is scheduled for 10/29 and I can't wait! I've lost 25lbs since surgery day and can't wait to see what the fill will do for me! Good luck to all of you!
  8. I was incredibly proud of him in that moment and thought...I must be doing something right! One day I was incredibly down and he pulled up a video on YouTube that you may have seen about a war vet who could barely walk due to complications of obesity and his years in the military as a parajumper who healed himself through yoga. It was set to "Fix You" by Coldplay. He told me to watch it and never give up. I cried and realized I'm raising a boy who will be an amazing man. I watch that video every time I need inspiration or a reminder why I am going to win this battle. My babies are the world to me. Thanks for your response!
  9. I am 4 weeks post-op and the weight was falling off the first 2.5 weeks (lost 19lbs) but since that point it's been much slower. I know that is to be expected and the focus is healing but I still allowed it to upset me a bit. Last night I was kind of stewing about it and my 10 year old son says "Mom, you've done amazing. Relax and let it happen, slow and steady wins the race." I was astounded. When did he get so wise? Anyways, I weighed this morning as I always do on Mondays and was pleasantly surprised to see I'd dropped another 4.6lbs! Guess the 10 year old knows what he's talking about!
  10. Thank you all for your replies. I have sworn off pasta, blended or not! I had an uncomfortable evening that night and since then have stuck to thin liquids and lean protein and am much better! Down another 2 lbs also!
  11. My diet is blended or puréed door right now. I get to start solids next week. I think the pasta was what threw me over the edge. It was too heavy and I think I've learned a valuable lesson. I was so scared to feel that full. I am going to chalk this up as a learning experience and keep moving forward. I've lost 23lbs in 3 weeks since being banded. I know there will be ups and downs and I'm so thankful I have this forum to share my trials with. You are all so wonderful!
  12. Ok so tonight I had a 3 oz piece of flounder, 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes and 1/4 cup of Mac and cheese (all blended in my food processor) and I thought it was an appropriate amount of food. I took my time and didn't drink with my meal. It's been about 20 minutes or more since I finished and I am now incredibly uncomfortable, feel super full! I am 3 weeks postop. Was this just too much and could I have hurt my surgery? I am terrified of this feeling. I have been doing so well up until tonight and I'm just worried. Any help is appreciated!
  13. Thermogenics are designed to raise your body temperature thus increasing your metabolism. You have to be careful with them as they can permanently alter your metabolism in bad ways. I took oral thernogenics purchased at Complete Nutrition and dropped a ton of weight but after I stopped taking them I gained it right back!
  14. Best of luck to you!
  15. I was cleared at 2 weeks with the instructions for no weight training or ab work for 6 weeks and to start slow. I'd listen to your surgeon tho, walking can really help. I started walking one week post op 2 miles every night and dropped 19lbs in my 2 week postop period.
  16. Day 7 for me. I am 17 days post op and just now feeling 100%...it gets better!
  17. Welcome! I am new as well and have found this forum to be soo helpful! Relax and enjoy your journey!
  18. Welp first visit in the bag! Doctor was ecstatic about my 19lb loss, he said "you hit it out of the park!" Now I get puréed food for 2 weeks then on to regular foods. First fill October 29th. I am over the moon happy!
  19. Ok so I'm 2 weeks post-op today and going for my follow-up visit. I know they will remove my stitches but anything else I should be prepared for? I am feeling great and am so excited to continue this journey!
  20. It took me 9 days after surgery to poop! I was freaking out but my surgeon wasn't. It's different for everyone but as long as you aren't uncomfortable I wouldn't worry about it. Happy healing everyone! I'm 12 days postop today and feeling great!
  21. I have a few stitches over my port site and each lap site has a stitch, nothing major. Surgery went well. The first few days at home were rough. I'm a single mom and had to keep active after my kids but all in all it wasn't bad. Not eating has been the hardest part! It'll all be worth it tho! I'll be happy and healthier for my babes!
  22. I was the same way for a few days postop. It went away!
  23. Feeling much better! I will be getting my stitches out Tuesday and graduating to full liquids, looking forward to that! I'm down 18lbs already! Thank you for asking!
  24. How are you feeling? Today was by far my best day yet. I actually felt normal all day!
